You did a fantastic job! It looks awesome! You can't tell it was ever cracked and broken! I'm going to definitely remember your technique next time I go antiquing! I won't attempt to fill and carve it like you did only paint it! I love the white over the black! Looks so vintage. Thanks for sharing! 😊

I got the rooster at a thrift store.....saw yours and figured this is what I'm gonna do! I like the simplicity of this technique as it can be used all year
Great job. I prefer the color, but that is just me. Maybe a little more glossy on the color, and a deeper yellow on the babies, but again, that is just my taste. You did an awesome repair. I have a ceramic Christmas tree I need to do a little work on. Where did you get the clay? How is your Dad? Hope you are all doing well.
Hi Lisa, i purchased the clay from Hobby Lobby. My father is doing really well and comfortable now that he is at home. We have an appointment on Tuesday in SAn Antonio and he is not wanting to do the long drive again.. he's being stubborn but we'll manage to get him there. thank you for your input on my project and for asking about my dad ♥

Omg I have looking everywhere for roosters, im doing my kitchen and dining room in roosters andci can't find anything in the stores, absolutely nothing, do you have any ideas on rooster decorationing or where I can get them, I want transfers and everything
HI Paula, i've seen rooster decor in Hobby Lobby and even on amazon. nothing is cheap though. i did see a couple stencils at hobby lobby of rooster i considered purchasing but I did not look further for items with roosters or chickens because i have stuff already from previous yrs. I wish i could be more helpful with your question.
When I bought my previous mobile home, the previous owner had a kitchen full of all kinds of roosters & hens. I gave them to Goodwill, people, check the thrift stores.
This looks amazing. I so wish I would of seen this sooner. I throw away some amazing chickens that belonged to an aunt that is no longer with us. 🥲 I will remember this for the future. I’m trying to save some bunnies that belong to a different aunt who has passed away.
The colors on them were beautiful. That made them unique😊

If they'd stayed black, they'd have been Ayam Cemani. Just paint the base vegetation with colors and done.
