This wasn't their first concert ever, but the first one that was recorded in good quality. Their very first appearance as a (yet unnamed) band was 2.5 years prior (December 2012), when they played "Good Gave Rock-'n'-roll To You" at a school event.
Definitely do not watch this idiot reactor (A View From the Stage) who says Ale's job is to look "cool" and that is it. WTF!!! Pretty much got a beat down for the Army!!!
At this point in time, Ale had already been able to play this bass line for something like 2 years, hence why she is alternating between her left hand playing under and over the neck at the beginning, to challenge herself. 🤯
It is the second half of this short video (the first one is snippets of sisters saying multiple times that Muse is their inspiration - collected by an Argentinian fan for Rudi to convince Muse about opening for them): ua-cam.com/video/KTMHR-K8Gm8/v-deo.html
And now you understand why (as another commenter put it) when doing the Alanis Morrissette cover, Ale knocks out Flea's base line "like she's thinking about what she wants for dinner". 😋
This is one of the songs that got Ale into Berklee School of music summer program. Ale was not allowed to go because she was too young so Ale said: “Hold my Jarritos (Har-ree-tos…Mexican fruit flavored soda)” and the rest is history, Berklee changed their mind!. 🎸
Yes, the way I understand it about this bass line is just how fast and busy it is to play, and you can see how young Ale was! This whole concert is great to watch; as I understand it the first 4 cover songs were meant to be part of each sister's application to the Berklee School of Music's summer program, with the 4th one for them as a band (I think?). The remainder of the songs were their first original songs which were on The Warning's first EP. The song Free Falling is especially notable since not only was it the first song The Warning wrote as a band, it also was added to Rock Band IV - the video game that originally hooked the girls onto rock music.
Every now and then, Ale reaches over the neck to hit some of the notes. At first, I assumed that she needed to do that to reach them. But now I think she may have just been showing off, because there is another performance from before this one, where they were ages 9-13 where she keeps her hand beneath the neck as usual. ua-cam.com/video/sppxN6OFRTw/v-deo.htmlsi=qEJ-2m-sELP4Krk8 In the older video, I like how she steps out to the front of the stage to start the sone. She is the only one playing, and I’m assuming that she doesn’t have a click track in her ear. It’s just her being the human metronome that she is.
Definitely just showing off. Not sure of exact dates but you can see her stretching to play her teachers full size 6-string bass as practice not long from this time. See 2:30 - 5:12 of this video on The Warning Army channel. The Warning - Ale y su maestro Pablo (bajista de Los Claxons) All three are capable of playing much more intricate things than they normally put into their songs. They all play what the song calls for rather than just showing off for the sake of showing off. The more I see of Ale the more I think she may be the best natural musician of the three, at least until I see the next song. There have been a few short videos of them practicing where they play parts of other music that is more technical just as warmups to their own practice sessions but they have never made a point of sharing much of that.
Yup, Ale playing over top of the neck is a pure flex. This was Ale’s audition song for Berklee College of Music. There are other videos of Ale playing this even more over the top as she’s did it sparingly in this video.
Nice Reaction! After they went on The Ellen Show in early 2015 (or late 2014) and Ellen got Target to pay for them to go to The Berklee College of Music they found out that Pau and Ale were too young for their Summer Program, but Berklee told them to send them a video of them playing, so they set this concert up for their classmates at 7:30 AM, sent it to Berklee and Berklee let them in based on their skill level. Each one got to pick a song to play that showed off their skill and this is the song that Ale wanted to play, plus they played their whole first EP called Escape the Mind. Pau does the title track on the piano (just saying).
The Warning's first general public( not just friends and family) appearance was at Nacho n gangas bar in 2014 , in which they played Enter sandman and their first song in spanish , a cover . Their first as a band without a name was in 2012 , singing god gave rock and roll to you.
Stop to think about Ale is 5 YEARS behind Dany and 3 behind Pau in regards to practicing and experience and she is still playing at their level. Ale is next level on the bass.
I’ve read somewhere that Ale learned that bassline as a means of convincing the Boston music school they went to with the support of Ellen DeGeneres, that despite being underage according to the school’s own rules, she was good enough as a musician to be given access.
I was really impressed with this performance, watching Ale control that bass like a pro and at only 10 years old, "WOW". I love all the songs from here, especially "Escape the Mind", I love the piano work in that one. Go ahead, give'em all a watch. 🤘
Love it!!!! Ale's song to get acceptance into the Berkeley school of music summer program!!! Pau and Ale were too young for the program... This concert was their "Audition"
Their first public performance was not at Liceo de Monterrey it was at a restaurant but I can't remember the name of the place at this moment but there is video of that performance. So that video is a historical document in their musical trayectory.
At this stage Alé was a quite good bassist, her tutor was a Jazz player, so inevitably she learned some of Jaco Pastorius’s style, she’s a bit of a wolf in sheep’s clothing in the band really, she plays what’s necessary but can play rather more complex styles than she needs to; some of this shows in their cover of Alanis Morissette’s song You oughta know, she calmly makes Flea’s bass lines look simple! This is her around the same age as when she played Hysteria - ua-cam.com/video/1i4oFvVUJQU/v-deo.htmlsi=z3M4tBsdpposJDUd
As good as they all are, and they are GREAT. Ale is a legitimate Protege. Even though Dany and Pau receive the most hype, Ale is the most gifted (musically).
First time they played under the name The Warning was 18. dec. 2013 at their school where they on the way decided to call themselves The Warning. They played at least 4 songs and were there with 3 boy bands. This song i write the title for is the best - just write this on UA-cam: Born This Way - Lady Gaga Cover - The Warning
I can't imagine what other bands think when going against them in a 'Battle of the Bands'. LOL!! Other band walks off the stage: "HECK YEAH WE KILLED IT!!" The Warning takes the stage - Does 'The Warning' blow-up-the-venue thing Other band: WTF?? DAMMIT!!!
You got the wrong video!! Their first ever live performance was a year-and-a-half earlier. In fact, it opened with a very tiny Ale, just having turned 9, stepping forward and starting off that show! It was uploaded December 2013. Worth checking out and maybe even a separate reaction. That one is a real bit of music history!
The Hysteria bass part is incredibly complicated and Ale, in order to accomplishment with her tiny fingers adapted a mixed underhand (normal) technique with a crazy overhand technique in order to get it done. Ale may be the most talented member of the band and she started early.
Actually, what Ale did here was not because she somehow couldn't do it the "normal" way. Overhand playing is not easy, it is *more* difficult than underhand playing. She was, in fact, showing off. She has very long and strong fingers, and, already at this young age, could reach, or grip, chords that even some male bass players can only dream of. There's footage of her playing this bassline without this overhand technique.
@@Hans_Reese Correct. To add ... I believe this was Ale's "Audition Tape" that was submitted to Berklee College Of Music's Admissions office. Ale and Pau were both below the minimum age of 15 for Burklee's Summer Sessions. Dany was 15. All three submitted a track from this concert (From what I understand, it was the the main reason for doing this concert.) Pau sent in their cover of Foo Fighter's Everlong. Dany's song escapes me at the moment.
@@jefffrey7825 indeed, you are correct, too. 😉 The whole first half of the show, as someone else in these comments already mentioned, was recorded as a quasi audtion for Berklee, because at this time only Dany was officially old enough to enroll. That also explains the technical quality of this recording: crisp sound, multiple camera angles, etc. Edit: Sorry for repeating what you wrote, at the time I wrote this, I had only seen the first 3 lines of your comment... 🙄

The day that the world acknowledges Ale’s musical genius is the day that I will stop praising her in every forum I can find.
Definitely do not watch this idiot reactor (A View From the Stage) who says Ale's job is to look "cool" and that is it. WTF!!! Pretty much got a beat down for the Army!!!

Thank you. Yes, the bass line is not only tricky but also can be exhausting to play. More so if you are 10 and the bass is bigger than you.
There is a video of a young Ale practicing this bass line on her own. Stunning work.
Eight years later and they are opening stadium shows for Muse. There's a cute video where they learn they will be opening for them.
Ale and Dany cheer and scream, and Pau bursts into tears. Classic!!!

Enorme talento de The Warning desde sus inicios ,hoy con el trabajo duro se han convertido en el mejor trío de rock del planeta
I am amazed how popular they were in their (all-girls) school. Dany mentioned in an interview that she had at the time about 100 "#1 fans" 😀

Actually, it's their second live performance. First was family and friends. This is in front of their school. #TheWarning
💜
Great reaction! this concert was at their school at age 10, 13 and 15, impressive performance, especially by Ale.
Believe this was June 8th 2015 - which make their ages roughly 15, 13 & 10!
Ale just nails that bass line.
Always impressed by them
