Just got the V-67 in. Tried it out this weekend. It's very, very nice piece of kit. You can get a very crisp, clear, present, well balanced, pro sounding vocal with the JZ Microphone V-678 at a fraction of the cost of any of the other big names in the business. I'm very happy with this purchase!

Great video (as always!) I totally agree and have been saying the same thing about the misleading use of legendary numbers for years! It's especially annoying when the manufacturer winks and nods and infers their product is in the style of / based on / sounds like / etc. then feign surprise that anyone would think they meant their product to sound like the one with the famous number! Just call it a WonderMic2000 and move on! LOL. I'm intrigued by the shape/design - It sort of reminds me of the Austrian Audio OC818 (which I'd also LOVE you to review)

I've found that most mics with the number designation 47, 67, etc refer to the capsule design only. Alot of mics use a 67 capsule design, but not the circuit. So no, it's not intended to sound like a U67, cause it doesn't have the same circuit or shape, just uses the capsule design. The way the capsule is manufactured will also change the sound further. Roswell Pro Audio goes into detail about this. Anyways. Great demo. Really helpfull.

I did not use the mojo on anything. Tried to keep it as clean as possible. :)

It’s not currently in the list of mics to review. :) but maybe one day in the future.
I don't know if you guys can help me but it'd mean the world. A former bandmates and colleague of mine dropped my JZ67 mic on the corner of an amp (Not why we don't work together anymore,...life just goes on :S). So anyway, I consider myself lucky, the microphone sounds great, but the "protective cage" (the cage protecting the capsule) is now all bend and it's not exactly impressing to potential clients and collaborators. Does anyone have a clue how I could fix it back to something that looks like it's original form? Thanks in advance! :)

NO TWO MICS SOUND THE SAME. You can take two U67's and they will sound different.
Well, some matched pair of condensers sound the same, but yes no different microphone brands sound the same. :)
