Not sure if the way it sounds with snares on is due to the tuning,
the heads and wires,
the material of the shell
or to the craftsmanship...
I do not like it though.
I just can't stand when almost all the body it has with snares off doesn't come through when you engage them.
Such a pity.
I find that most birch snares tend to have this issue
(from my ear's perspective at least)
