I was about to die from an overdose in my apartment in Miami all alone after so many different drugs…I went to grab my phone and I couldn’t even see what I pressed and out of no where UA-cam started and this song played. My heart was beating out of my chest and then the room turned white and I felt at peace. My heart slowed down and I survived. Jesus Christ is real people. He saved my life.!!!
My son nearly died from opioid addiction 9 years ago and by the grace of almighty God he is alive and helping other young men get clean from the beast of addiction. The lord God is good and looks after his sheep who have gone astray
No tears to fill our EYES...again...THE HARMONY alone on EYES...beyond words. Every singer in this rendition is the perfection of sound: Michael English, Mark Lowery, and David Phelps - enunciation perfection and tones of heaven...believe this to be the most beautiful arrangement and rendition this side of heaven! Thank you for applying what God so beautifully gave you...
He does have a really beautiful voice. I'm not sure why he gets passed over for David Phelps by so many. But then I also much prefer Guy Penrod to the high tenor line-up...
If they are this wonderful on earth, imagine when they are perfected in Heaven. Please Dear Father let me be a member of your heavenly choir. Father, thank you for your gift of music.
Simply listen to these extremely talented men at the Majestic Theatre concert in San Antonio, and without question, this is the finest and most talented combination in one group. The vocal nuances, their ability to recognize what each individual brings to the table. The powerful voices of not JUST David - but of the incredibly talented, bluesy and versatile Michael English, the vocal clarity of Wes Hampton, the sweet baritone of Mark Lowry and adding to that the wonderful bass by Bill Gaither; makes this group unequivocally the best harmony GVB ever!! Of course all the other GVB singers are talented. However, to have this many “gifted” vocalist’s together has been such an incredible blessing to those who listen to their FULL body of work, not just a song here and there. Thank you gentlemen for all you’ve given to all of us. It’s darn hard to pick a favorite, but this one is right up there in the top two or three!!
The LORD has gifted us with men of GOD the GVB who lead us to worship using their voices and lives in this extraordinary way! Gratitude, LORD, for each one of You
I miss this GVB lineup, they are by far the best. I’m sorry but Mark helps to make this remarkable. They all show their love for God through their singing. I love all of you. Mark, Michael and David are doing their own thing now. I miss them all being together and singing. Mark has his mother’s smile when he sings. I like this by the Brady Trio better.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (January 19), I attended the funeral at a local Pentecostal Holiness Church for a man whose son & I graduated from high school. Sadly, his son died in May 1987. This was played at the end of the service. Afterwards, we processed to the cemetery behind the church for the burial service. I miss you Earl, and we will all miss you, Mr. John.
I now have been listening to GVB for at least 25 years…… probably longer! And since my soulmate went home God has allowed me to develop more time worshipping and reading the Lord’s word everyday……. And my closest to my Lord that I’ve ever felt 🙏🙏🙏! Praise God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit🩵💙💜🙏
These guys are so very talented. I love this GVB lineup. David Phelps is the best ever tenor in the world. These fellows convey the meaning of the song with such sincerity and belief. They definitely feel what they are singing!!
These guys all so good.Micheal English my faveritAfter all he has ben. Thrkouh he still loves. The. Lord. With. Allhis heart. God bless. Him must and. All of. Themmm e
Wouldn't miss a chance to drift away above the earth in their music feeling closer and closer to heaven each time ilisten to them God be praised for uguys
I loved the group when it included Bill Gaither, Guy Penrod, Mark Lowry and David Phelps. Russ Taft was in once in a while as well. I love how he gets so excited when David Phelps sings.
THE SONG IS SO BEAUTIFUL , THE HARMONY IS THE GREATEST AND THEN TOP IT OFF WITH DAVID THE BEST VOICE EVER. THEY ALL DO AGREAT JOB ESPECIALLY MARK BUT DAVID HAS A VOICE OF AN ANGEL. GIVES ME CHILLS EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO HIM .
These days I find myself longing to go home where my family will be. Especially my loving parents. I miss them more and more as the days pass by. Nothing can take the place of parents.
I love to hear David sing Heaven's Shore where will be reunited forever with our loved ones. And be with Our Saviour. I lost my son last year and he left 3 little ones. I look forward to HEAVEN!!!!
I kind of refuse to pick favorites or criticize. All of these men have been blessed by God with their own specific talent...of course they don't all sound the same...there would be no Gaither Vocal Band if they all sounded like Wes :)....or David :)...the first song I heard by Micheal English was "Give Up," and I thought, "WOW!" He did an amazing job! He is his own voice. The one God blessed him with (and, the rest of us) and I would not criticize someone who is doing what God wants them to do.
Beautiful as always, love Mark's smooth baritone and only he can bring the words to us as if he's having a conversation with a group of friends. David Phelps, gosh what can one day about his voice?! Strong and powerful and soft and tender when appropriate. Michael English always love hearing him sing, his voice is unique and I love it. Wes Hampton, such a sweet guy and his tenor is amazing. And just so no one jumps on me here for the order I put them in means not to take away from any one of them, I love them all and I am so grateful for each and every Member past and present of GVB! Keep up the good work Guys as one day you will each year our Father say, "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Love and appreciate each one of you! 💙🌸💙
I think all of them are the best Gospel singers among a lot of great singers. I have learn to pick out each one of their voices. They make joy run through me like electricity.
This is so beautifully sung.I like such songs. I grew up with it. I come from a very religious family. My parents and grandmother are from Indonesian and moved in 1955 to the Netherlands. My grandmother, who has always played in a band and lived with us, started a church community . My father was a pastor and had a beautiful voice. Also my mother . People often came to our house for prayer meetings, etc. That is why such songs were sung. That was so beautiful. But 3 days before my 6th birthday my father passed away. There have never been such evenings at our house after that. My stepfather had a different religion. A really nice childhood sentiment.
Somewhere just across the Jordan River, Is a place of everlasting joy and peace. Where the stream of life is flowing there forever, And the crown of life is waiting there for me. That sounds like home to me, Like where I want to be There'll be no tears, to fill our eyes again The hills will echo with the story, As we sing of, his grace and glory. Where the saints of God will be, That sounds like home to me. Oh, they say there's only joy inside, that city, And little playing by, the tree of life. No pain, no disappointments there will hurt us, And Jesus Christ Himself, will be the light. That sounds like home to me, Like where I want to be. There’ll be no tears to fill our eyes again. The hills will echo, with the story, As we sing of, His grace and glory. Where the saints of God will be, That sounds like home to me. That sounds like home to me, Like where I want to be. There’ll be no tears to fill our eyes again. The hills will echo with the story, As we sing of, His grace and glory. Where the saints, of God will be, That sounds like home to me. The hills will echo with the story As we sing of his grace and glory Where the saints of God will be, That sounds like home to me
I just finished a Bible Study on our Future in Christ, and the chorus kept coming back to me. Stand firm in Christ, one day we will see Him and we will be made like Him.
My favorite iteration of GVB is David Phelps, Guy Penrod, Russ Taft, and Bill Gaither. Tim Duncan or George Younce supporting or standing in for Bill Gaither? Just imagining that gives me goose bumps.
sounds like home to me also sure would like to go there. i'm packed and ready when ever HE's ready to let death come calling. i want to see my Jesus but i also want to meet these guys they are such a testimony to HIS love for us.

2:57 Jason Crabb saying please don't pick me right now Bill lol
😂😅😊
David Phelps has the most tenor voice I have heard. God bless him.

Michael English is a story teller 🙌🏾
Mark has the clearest, deepest, and biggest baritone in GVB ever! That's why he's the best baritone when David and Guys sings together.
He does have a really beautiful voice. I'm not sure why he gets passed over for David Phelps by so many. But then I also much prefer Guy Penrod to the high tenor line-up...
@@pamelah6431 we love them all. No passing over. It’s the anointing of God we feel.
Totally agree 👍👏
Michael come back to singing you are missed so much
One of the best groups of the Gaither Band
David has the voice of an angel.
You are so right, I love his voice
If they are this wonderful on earth, imagine when they are perfected in Heaven. Please Dear Father let me be a member of your heavenly choir. Father, thank you for your gift of music.

Beautiful and flawless harmony. Of course, what better way to end the song than with David singing?

Gordon Mote plays so beautifully!!
Patricia Wickholm I know right, what makes it more impressive is that he is blind!
And to imagine that Gordon Mote does so very, very well without seeing the keys!
That sounds like home to me.

David is on loan from Heaven!!🙌
OMG David Phelps!
My favorite Gaither Vocal Band ❣
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
They open up a can of great gospel and David rips the top off without an opener.
You said it brother. David can raise the hair on your arms with that angel voice.
AMEN
I think all of them are the best Gospel singers among a lot of great singers. I have learn to pick out each one of their voices. They make joy run through me like electricity.
