Whether they explained or not it cannot overrule the truth of celebrating the birth of our Christ, that is their own take, early fathers that fixed the date never make a mistake, we will celebrate his birthday even if they don't
Many times, the way they say it is the actual problem. A more robust explanation and carrying others along would have prevented a lot of problem. Was Jesus born? Yes Can we honor him with a day? Yes Will He be displeased with that? No Are there ways we can celebrate Him that can lead to distractions instead of focusing on the Christ that was born? Yes Should we do that? No Where and who should all our celebrations point towards? Jesus. Many people celebrate Christmas just for the fun. Santa Claus, Food, New clothes, Gifts etc. Some even drink, fornicate and do all sorts, just because it is festivity period. (You know how much we like anything party). Christmas should be more of a spiritual something. If you ask me, I will tell you that Deeper life celebrates Christmas, because they do retreat, they soak themselves in the word of God, they soak themselves in prayers, refreshing themselves in the Lord. And they give plenty food to all participants. That to me is Christmas. They just do theirs in a way that connects them more to Jesus - the main reason of the season while a lot of other denominations concentrate more on the Food, Party, Santa Claus, New clothes competition, running around to borrow money in order to meet up with showing up perfect at Christmas parties and all. I love their tradition. And I envy it a lot. P.S. I'm not a deeper lifer.
