No, In this code, you dont need two different value for compAValue and compBvalue. You may need it for some other case depending on application.

yes...mod.index 1 corresponds to 1000 in this example

So if I were to initialize an ADC pin which would vary the modulation index from say 0.05 to 1 that would be work fine.
