you actually got it to work in 2024? I dug out an old 3b I wanted to use for this and not having any luck. My light stays on no matter what. His code says pin 17 but his video shows him using pin 1. I tried both. I made sure both were 3.3 volt. I tried multiple grounds. No success. Bizzarre. I've got an old light from a buoy I want to put in my garden and have it flash as if it were at sea and not in the middle of Texas...

hey, I think you are using +5V or 3.3V pin instead of GND pin to connect your led
