Bare minimum you should get $2/mile on that. If you do not, you should negotiate these types of runs ahead of time. Hopefully, the company did you right.
Absolutely, still learning this company, they definitely don't operate like everyone else. It's run the load, customer pays, then they factor in mileage, weight and all that stuff then pay me by check every 2 weeks. My 1st paycheck wasn't bad and company has been in business since 1989. Once I get my check and see the breakdown, I'll see if they really take care of drivers or not. I'm cool with $2 per mile. Appreciate you 👍🏾
Box Trucks aren't even getting $2 a mile.
Man I hope you get that pay scale from your carrier. Good luck 👍🏽
Yea, I really don't like the way they run these loads with no rate. I have to put all my trust in them doing the right thing, I don't like that.
Happy anniversary to you and your wife 🎉🎉. Ruth Chris is totally our go to for celebration in my household too it is expensive but SO DELICIOUS lol.
Just like you, I strongly dislike OTR, but you won't know until you try it so at least, now you know! It is odd that they have you run the load without even telling you how much they're paying you. Hopefully they won't disappoint 🤞🏽
Thank you, we had a great time, Ruth Chris is now one of my favorites. Yea that run wasn't really otr, but it was for me. Company is very different, I don't like the rate mystery stuff, but only time will tell if I keep running loads for them.
I didn't like Ruth Chris
It was the bomb
Congrats on your anniversary man.
Appreciate that 👍🏾
Is this your 2nd window chip?
No, it's just smaller but filled, so it won't spread
Hope they pay u right for the long run and Con🎉 on the 16yrs and u get use to otr it's a different way of life for sure...keep growing and God bless 🙏& Everything Apax Mr.Allen in the building...
Should have tried to get a load or something back but it's all good 👍
Appreciate the congrats, me and the wife say thanks. I wish I could have had a load back, I'm strongly thinking about trying out DAT loadboard.
Do you have your Twic card for the military base
Vet ID
Hey man, I think 2/mile is too low.
Hope u get 3!
2 is bare minimum, but absolutely 3 would be better, we'll see
Adam…. You look lonely bro!! 😂
🤣
Good information. I'm looking to get my first van. Been watching your older videos
Appreciate you, hope you find what you're looking for 👍🏾
My favorite drink also. How you drink four of them. I'm bigger than you and two is my max. Lol
I can handle mine pretty well, surprisingly
Yeah (asap, direct, same day ) that’s all broker talk
👍🏾
Happy Anniversary ! I spent 40 years as a OTR Driver ! Time to stay home with a cargo van! LOL ! Would love to chat with you privately ! Have A AWESOME DAY!
Thank you, wow 40 years, that is Honorable 🎖, that's a ton of experience. Appreciate your support 👍🏾
@@BigCJCargoVan Thank You sir! Thank you for your service!
Happy anniversary. And 78 for a steak is insane
Appreciate that, yea only once a year I'll spend money like that for a steak. It was good tho 👍🏾
@@BigCJCargoVan I’m glad you enjoyed it you deserve for all the work you put in if you ever need a new helper let me know and when I get my van I’m sure I’ll run into for sure
Hey CJ I’m getting closer to purchasing a cargo van. What you think about getting an electric Ford ?
I don't like electric, follow your heart but I'd stick to gas or diesel
@@BigCJCargoVan thanks man
Ayoo the best intro. Sounded like the bass was boosted some. 💪🏾
Cool, yea that beat hits pretty nice
Bro i do van work in vegas and there is NO way im doing any job without knowing what the pay is first especially 150miles worth. You better than me
That’s crazy, I won’t drive past 100 miles
Being hot otr doesn't help either. I hope that a good payout for the miles and weight.
I hope so, well see when I get that check with breakdown
Did you use your Google map satellite view to look for the company at the pu?
My dispatcher did, she found the door number and it helped me find the warehouse. Great idea tho, I hadn't thought of that.
I'm looking to get in the van life I own my own big rig now but it's not going good at this time rates is too low
Hey, plenty of work out here. Jumping ship is another freedom I love us independent contractors have, you can always try something else. Wish you the best 👍🏾
🦾
Yes Sirrrr....
Let’s go
That's right..... 👍🏾
My city is dope, i don’t have to get on the highway, there are back roads to get anywhere and everywhere.
I appreciate the shoutout and for rocking with me !!!!
Absolutely 💯, thanks for helping us have a great time, appreciate you 👍🏾
150 not otr bro but i get it.
I know, baby route but it is for me
So 7 hour day. Time you left home till you got home. 1 tank of gas. Even in Texas you gotta be over $3 a gallon. Let's call it 25 gallons @$80.
$25hr x7 is $175 plus $80 is $255...is about what I'm guessing they will pay you based on that 1st check. Which isn't great considering to do this job w a carrier you need commercial insurance and an expensive van. You should be making more than gig app income per hour based just on that.
If they do pay $2 mile it's $320-80gas is $240/7hrs is $34hr. Not too bad. Hits your $200day goal. Then you gotta ask yourself if you worked 7hrs on your gig apps in town, how much would you make after gas...more than $240 ...I think so. And w the gig apps you don't really need the commercial insurance, so your profit margin is even higher, plus less miles wear and tear and depreciation on the van.
So at the rates they are gonna pay you the only way to make this feasible is a 2nd paying run back to San Antonio. If they can't offer you that, and can't pay you a fair rate for the day don't do it anymore. Lay it all out for them if they are willing to negotiate w you. Maybe they need to understand your cost of doing business and they need to raise the rates they charge clients.
@@ToddRogers00 there is a certain reassurance to getting just 1 gig for the day and no more chasing.
Lol. I just dropped a load in Texas from nj. No problem
Nice 👍🏾
Ruth Chris Steakhouse the home of the 500 degree plate. Great restaurant glad you and the Wife had an amazing experience. Awesome that you went back to the kitchen and gave the Chef a compliment cuz that him why we do what we do to give great customer service in the hospitality industry..
Appreciate that, yes one of my favorite restaurants now. Chef definitely needs some recognition sometimes. Appreciate you 👍🏾
Big CJ, again Happy anniversary and glad that you guys had fun and enjoyed it. yet another great recommendations and advices about business and life!
Appreciate you 👍🏾 and thanks
I agree. Ruth Chris has Great Steaks!! I have not had a bad experience there at all. Happy Anniversary to you Both. 🎉
Yes, added to my favorites list, thank you 👍🏾
Big ups to you coming from Montgomery county I watch you all the time bro
Appreciate that 👍🏾 💯
Big CJ I just started with a local courier company as well to fill in those zero dollar days in the gig work area No Zeros is my motto
Very smart, you are doing it right. Best wishes to you 👍🏾
I'm leaning towards OTR myself, tough move 🤔
Nice, definitely not for everyone, best wishes to you 👍🏾
Make a customer, keep a customer! We all got to start somewhere! Shout out from Cali you inspired me to create my own business in Mobile Detailing 🤙🏽
That's the motto, I'm really happy to hear that. Awesome business, you would make a killing out here in Texas, car washing is a religion out here. I already know you will do great and I hope this opportunity changes your life for the better. Very happy for you and wish you the best 👍🏾
CJ! Big fan of the energy and the informative videos. Has anyone told you carrier and courier are two different words and are pronounced differently 😂
Thank you for your support and the educational information. To be honest, don't really care. I work for a courier company so carrier courier potato potahto, I could care less 👍🏾
You are a very trusting person. I would not start my van without having a contract in hand. Thank you for sharing your honest experiences with us!
Absolutely, best wishes to you 👍🏾
You might get 150
Yup, we'll see
Can you still hit your $200 goal on the Gig Apps because you were getting it in, and that was 4 or 5 hours and you hit $200+ most of the time?
I think so, just trying to get more consistent work from courier company rather than relying on the apps. They are still hitting tho.
It is definitely a plus to have that connection with your courier company, I hope they do right and not take kindness for a weakness... many blessings to you and the fam... PS ... being a single dad I definitely feel you about getting your time back.
Thanks for that intro!!!!
