Fool, your word means shit
My eyes, they wander
(Not a lotta shit left to break inside the mind of acid whore)
(Swallowing your sister's nightstand might cover up the clogging pores)
(The sound of master blaster's tank weapon gun addon I believe)
(Every single little child can benefit from smoking weed)
You're filling your pockets with my bones
Filling your pockets.
(Slow plans, stuck in my bladder, turn yourself sideways)
(Slow plans, stuck in my bladder, turn yourself sideways)
(I don't know much about computers, but I know that you look like a child abuser)
(Slow plans, stuck in my bladder, turn yourself sideways)
(Slow plans, stuck in my bladder, turn yourself sideways)
(Sideways, sideways)
Move in, take what's not yours, take what I worked for
Slow down, stop me now, you're tearing apart my soul
(And lately we should be making me)
(The best type of record for wasting please)
(Amazing bark is getting dark)
(You know that I know can ride the arc)
(And lately we should be making me)
(The present elect is a burning tree)
(And you know that I know that I can't be me)
(So I can be you and well you can be me)
I'm a T.O.Y F.O.R you, on pleasure principle,
We keep it on the down low cause public eyes are sensible
There ain't no outcome without illusion that I let you in the first place
Girl you know what we're doin', this is dirty sex,
Back seats, over the tables, under the sheets,
At the workplace, on the beach,
In the hammock where I sleep.
I know it's your birthday, but call me up at 3:30
Damn, okay, where do you want to meet?
Cause I know the lonely road it took to get there
I believed, I believed it at your lonely word
Well I knew the lonely road it took to get there
I believed, I believed it in your lost words
Well I know the only road it takes to get there
And I only feel it now because I've been there
And I know the lonely road it takes to get there
And I only feel it now because I've been there
Stop me now, you're tearing apart my soul
Move in, take what's not yours, take what I worked for
(Lame, as well, as boring)
(Lame, as well, as boring)
(A thinly veiled guise elected for another new sound)
(Capitalize when you dumb it down)
(You defect and I'll be raging on top of my car)
(You defect and I'll be passed out, covered in tar)
(A thinly veiled guise elected for another new sound)
(Capitalize when you dumb it down)
(A thinly veiled guise elected for another new sound)
(Capitalize when you dumb it down)
Imagine hearing this for the first time again 😭
yeserday was my first time, i cant stop listenning this masterpiece
@@cesarquintero1980 ditto
I’d give anything
Legend
@cesarquintero1980 holy shit youve alot to absorb 😂🎉❤
this band is filled with the most talented musicians on this entire earth
Does anybody else get the 3 different vibes through out the song? The intro sets the tone with this like slow vibe then after the sick riff at 1:52 It goes to some rap flow then just jumps back to DGD. God i love this song hah
Ethan Dombrowski incredible still!!!!
this whole album. I fucking hate Tillians voice man but I still support em, just wish kurt or johnny were still in the band but w/e hah
nah you’re the only one bro
This is honestly one of my favorite songs of all time, I love everything about it.
feel the same exact way, heat-seeking ghost of sex chillin right behind this one
+Kelsey Lemus still?
Kelsey Lemus lol
@@mynamedontmind
Yess
It’s up there, my personal favorite is Open Your Eyes and Look North
3:25 to 3:35, Mingus's drum set caught fire
keithdube12 REBLOG
This and the ending on open your eyes and look north are just bonkers
Matt is the best
2:23 my soul caught on fire
he is a beast, he is super out of the box on drumming
Will Swan would have to be up there with the best guitarists of the past decade. I have not heard anyone else with more innovation. He is probably the best.
1:52 probably one of the best riffs ive ever heard
I agree
rip-off of pretty much any fall of troy song, done worse. But yeah it's cool.
i dont see it, but okay
Mccall Walker which song is that? can't wait to hear it haha
Mccall Walker
sounds like fall of troy sucks if all their riffs sound like that.
Johnny's intro vocals is an entire song on to itself. The rest is pretty badass too.
An ex girlfriend turned me onto these guys and we explored instant gratification and happiness a shit ton in the two years we were together then when it ended I found downtown battle mountain 2 and honestly didn’t even know what to do. It was perfection and I so wanted to be laying in bed with her again rocking out to it and talking like we used to do. They are a great band. In my eyes, will and Mingus are the heart and brain.
tru welcome
Who's still here?
Never left
forever
Meeee ❤
it's time for dbm3
Checking in from time to time.
One of their best. Jonny will always be the best DGD vocalist. Always brought so much soul to the vocals.
Soul it is.
I kinda just wish he got clean and wrote songs that weren't gibberish
@@droptherapy2085 Well, Emarosa wasn't gibberish. He wrote gibberish with DGD bc that's all DGD is.
I really wonder how Kurt would do singing DBM I + II, or how Jonny would do singing Acceptance speech, or Tillian on Happiness.
+mikethps Look forward for the tree city city sessions
+mikethps theres a couple live videos of kurt singing songs like lemon meringue tie but jonny craig has actually only sung his own songs live.
omg that would be sooo insane if jonny did acceptance speech! too bad he is a douchebag, from what I heard, and he got himself kicked out
well Johnny may not be the best guy, he was just trying to cope. That led to him use drugs but there no need to call him a cunt or anything.
Or how about Tillian on Royal Ocean?? ..meh. May be a stretch,, but i mean, seeing importance of coke live would be insane. You're legend if you have.
I swear DGD used a random sentence generator for most of their lyrics lol
It seems that way, though Jon said that a good amount of his lyrics are abstract and are essentially a bunch of words that sound good rhymed together. 'Not all lyrics have to make sense':A paraphrase of something he said after that.
But if you look, he has his share of songs where he spits some meaningful shit.
yeah it's called "Jon Mess"
Jonny Craig said he was so high on this album that he doesn't even remember writing or recording any of it
Godly Joe I saw that too. Damn, imagine abusing drugs to where to can't even remember practicing and recording a friggin' album..
That's actually really sad.
that's why it's so good though, people write their best shit when they are high off of their asses
I'm 53 and I can't get enough!!!!
Favorite DGD song. Soo technical and unique, plus those melodies by JC are just angelic
OMG the memories this just unlocked for me. Wow ... happy to be back in 2024
Love coming back to this song
Listening to DBM II and just realizing how underrated this album is.
I literally never get tired of this album.
I was introduced to this in 2011 and its been a favorite ever since. This is shit I love taking a long shower to and singing along to 😍
This whole album is so fuckign good fight me
Cassie White mood when I heard it TBH
I love every thing a out this band other then the ASS they are calling screamo.
I agree and I will fight you to honor the album >:(
I challenge you to mutual combat
half is good, half is forgettable, most feels very show off like
I'm gonna be honest, I hate post-hardcore music. I'm more of a traditional metal fan, but I love this fucking band. In this song alone, there's sweet singing, awesome screaming and ridiculous but awesome lyrics, funk/jazz/soul guitar that's amazing, and even a rap verse. I hate to admit it, but here's a post-hardcore band that I finally like.
You're thinking of the wrong type of Post-Hardcore. I figure you're thinking of stuff like We Came As Romans and whatever else sounds like that. Look into A Lot Like Birds, Circa Survive, Balance & Composure, Defeater, and La Dispute. The type you have in mind is pretty shitty, yeah.
If you love DGD with Jonny Craig, listen to downtown battle mountain (the original one). Also the band Hail the Sun is fantastic and the super-group Sianvar you would LOVE. Lead guitarist from this band, singer from Hail the Sun, and other dudes from sweet bands.
Look up DGD with Kurt (their singer before Jonny was brought back) and Tillian (their current singer.
I've noticed with post hardcore you have to go through a lot of bad bands.... like Falling in Reverse ... to get to bands like Dance Gavin Dance.
Swancore is what you need
EpicGabby
This.
Matt is one of the most underrated drummers ever, imo. Dude is a beast!
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’d replay the beginning part of the song just to hear Jonny scream “you’re filling your pockets with my bones”
Idk how else to describe it, soooo much soul in this album
This is one of the most unique albums to exist. From the cover to band name to the actual music lol
Those opening notes give me chills and makes me wish I wasnt 12 in 2011
Jonny really left his mark on this album
I still can't get over how good this album is. It's definitely my favorite DGD album, although most people disagree. It's perfect.
This whole album. The best.
This opening (like the first 45 seconds) is just absolutely amazing! LOVE IT
So much potential. I wish this was still the line up.
Personally I prefer DGD without Jonny. I think Kurt Travis was their best clean vocalist.
keithdube12
I fucking love the current line up Tillian is fucking great and Acceptance Speech is one of my favourite albums.
Noooo. I hated it so much I find his voice so whiny. Idk man Jonny's voice had so much power and soul.
keithdube12 agreed, man
Thats what i'm saying man. This band was doing stuff no one even thought of. There will never be anything like this line up again
Instead of "You're filling your pockets with my bones. Filling your pockets." I hear "You're filling up Baguettes with my soul, you're filling up baguettes!"
Years later and this song still has me smoking weed in my hammock singing along
What does age have to do with quality?
Cause I know the lonely road it took to get there.. 💔
Legendary track. Legendary album. Legendary group.
the separation between DTBM1 and DTBM2 are the focus on the whole band. On the first album the music and even Mess take a backseat to Craig just going over the top and now on the new album its an amazing compilation of what the band is capable of now. The guitar and music in general is so much better and more complete and now Mess gets his glory and Craig gets his notification, just will a little bit of humility. This album is just flat out amazing.
I love that Dance Gavin Dance feel like 3 different bands going between this, Tillians work and then the earlier stuff.
Having the choice of the three depending on mood is a lovely thing.
I fell in love with this song when I first heard the opening riff and I'm listening to this album a lot more and it's one of my favorites. I also love Acceptance Speech and Happiness. Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean had some sick riffs, vocals and screams as well.
dance gavin dance and nirvana will forever be my favourite bands
This era was the best, someone tell me I’m wrong
i cant stand tillians vocals. DGD died for me when Jonny and Kurt left for good.
@@MAGICCOFFEY okay so I’m not the only one thank god
@@insectica5891 Not a big Tillian fan either. I usually listen to the new stuff once or twice and never return... Not like this one. This one is superb. But Jon Mess has improved on the new releases, which is awesome.
Tillian era sucked donkey snog, but we have a chance for a DBM3 now
These guys are genius. In 20 years people are gonna look back and listen to DGD and shit themselves. They're wonderful musicians.
2020, still here on full volume.
This is fresh AF
2:24 is glorious i get this feeling in my soul inexplicable!!
spoopy
?
+Polyphia “DanTDM” Dance Gavin Dance fan Normie?
what
+Polyphia “DanTDM” Dance Gavin Dance fan yeah I thought so
What the fuck? What did I do
Favorite dgd album.
this is in my opinion the best dance gavin dance song, shows everything thats good about them and the variety that they have!
This is my FAVORITE song of all time
I'm a t-o-y-f-o-r you on pleasure principle.. we keep it on the downlow cause public eyes are sensible!
I don’t think we understood how good this was when it came out. This is some Music 420 History of Swancore type shit
this song deserves a million views
I just bought the limited edition from Hot Topic. It was beyond greater than I expected it to sound. It is amazing.
Cause I know the lonely road it took to get there
Yeah I believed, I believed it at your lonely word
Well I knew the lonely road it took to get there
Yeah I believed, I believed it in your lost words
Well I know the only road it takes to get there
And I only feel it now because I've been there
And I know the lonely road it takes to get there
And I only feel it now because I've been there
soon as it starts instant nostalgia
what a funky song
probably one of the best songs to open up one of the best records of all time.
0:24 "Every single little child can benefit from smoking weed" lol 420!!!
that seriously mind fucked me
looool i get it
"Every single child can benefit from smoking weed."
I wholeheartedly agree Jon.
i miss this dgd
Jonathan Mess is one of the most creative screamers I have ever heard.
Am I the only one that gets a tear in their eye whenever they here "lonely road it took to get there" at 2:55-3:05?
me too bro, that fucking part it's magical
I listen to this song jus for that part bro. Legendary
2:05 - 3:05 is more accurate it's the build up that gets you. But yeah it's wonderful comfort especially after an unwanted fight with a loved one. I know from experience.
Cause I know the lonely road it took to get there
Obsessed w that part
I love blasting this is my ears
Aaron, its Johnathan, i love and miss you brother and this music still reminds me of you ❤
"Girl you know what we're doin', this is dirty sex,
Back seats, over the tables, under the sheets,
At the workplace, on the beach,
In the hammock where I sleep.
I know it's your birthday, but call me up at 3:30
Damn, okay, where do you want to meet?"
Badass. Seriously badass. haha
Savage
im a t o y f o r you fuck yea
This intro makes me feel happy
I was trying to find doot doot skeleton song and I found this. I'm not disappointed.
favorite song on the cd right here.
10 años con este temazo. Vamos al B-side.
This is the song that got me into DGD. Goddamn, it's so good.
Pure gold
Jonny nd' Mess and Swan killed this album! Best album from them yet. The gituar work is crazy and the vocals are so damn good!
CAUSE I KNOW THE LONELY ROAD IT TOOK TO GET THERE
I love this transations
yeah I take my hits to this song
this is my JAM!!!!! ☺
Will Swan is the greatest rapper alive today
this is the first song I've ever heard by them and it just brings memories lol 7th grade (:
One of the best albums of 2011.Hail Jon Mess
Going to meet Jonny in less than a month I don't know what to expect, I got itno the band late and want around during his time
Wow, new fave band. It's like the Blood Brothers and HORSE the band but also Alexisonfire pretty singing.
How do you get HORSE out of this? Lol
I love this version so much more then tree city sessions version.
I enjoy both and I like Tilian but Jonny is is the fuggin goat. He's just better.
tillian can't hit jonnys notes right. however, tillian blows Kurt out of the water
+Dominick Zanotti I think it's because Tillian doesn't approach Jonny's vocals from an RnB perspective, which is why I still just can't get used to him >__
I agree. Both versions are great but i like more the vocal style of Jonny.
I like tillian more with tillian writen songs, Jonny written songs sound better with jonny.
For me it's all on the delivery of how the song opens... Weird but that helps me define a song. These guys hit it hard.
I chilled with Jonny for like 2 and a half hours at a show emarosa played in Richmond before realizing who he was, haha. I just thought he was a tech guy or the bassist in one of the openers, haha.. Cool ass dude, very humble too.
it's swan killin' the verse at 2:02?
+viktr estebn yeah that's MC Swan
+viktr estebn my man swan
+Joseph F I thought he was Hawaiian?
viktr estebn best fucking part of song
honestly thought it was mike shanoda for a sec
Jonny Craig is the best. That's all, don't care about his personal shit. He has a golden voice.
Right. Same!
I think Dance Gavin Dance is the only band on youtube, that where everybody that listens to them, loves them. That's impressive.
In my opinion, Jonny Craig is an amazing vocalist on his own and Dance Gavin Dance was still amazing even when he wasn't in the band. It's just a godsend that they've come back together.
New DGD needs to have Will rap more
This goes from Asking Alexandria to Faith No More to Fall Out Boy and back to Asking Alexandria in just a matter of 4 mins and that's awesome asf
This is probably my fave song from them
yo, its all about dem drums. :D no, seriously though, these guys are so complex, its awesome, no simple progressions or anything predictable at all out of their music. its awesome that way, and everything compliments each other. EVEN THE BASSIST LAYS DOWN SOME FUNKY MUGGIN CORDS.
2:22
Happy Halloween fellow DGD fanboys!
Jon Mess really picked it up! I can't get enough of his screaming on this album xD
I love this track
This song makes me wanna buy a macbook
Want to buy a macbook?
2011 called - wants the joke back
Simon Vandetta Rick from Rick and Morty just called - wants his call back lol
laughed my ass off
The first 13 seconds are just.... ohmygod. Mindblowing. Every time.
Transition from rap to johnny is the best part! =)
