    Ever heard of fast twitch muscle fibres? If they wanted to go ATG they would, but obviously the coaches see more results for what theyre looking for from short explosive squats.
    Now please dont ever comment something like that again.

      Heavy deadlifts and squats don't train fast twitch muscle fibres🤣🤣🤣🤣 Contrast sprints and hang cleans are good for that purpose

      He does, but it just takes 1 slip, lands on his neck and he is done. With that weight it would take less than a second - even with vigilant spotters, still risky.

    bench near the end was f***g awful - what was it 150-160? my sternum ached watching that bounce. why don't they use bands, or get a slingshot if they want to overload the movement whilst keeping full range?

      Mr VC it's about anerobic power. Stay explosive and strong when there's nothing left. He was quite clearly fatigued, hence why the spot was there in case

      Yalashaska Not true, muscles cant form both power and speed something has to give. That's why a weight lifter cant run fast and a sprinter cant lift shit.. There has to be balance

    Watched this when it first came out and thought, their training looks pretty rubbish.. Sure enough they got tanked that season and fitness was seen as one of the contributing factors.
