You know it's funny it took a few days for Mina's fans to ruin Jimin's career and then a couple of months to ruin AOA, but when dispatch reveals Mina's lies, Mina fans still blame Jimin. Make it make sense.
It actually makes a lot of sense, its easier to destroy than to build something, Mina's fans didnt even know who she was or even what AOA was before the scandal, they just saw an opportunity to hate on someone for free and took the chance.
Take home message: if the events doesn't directly involve you, or a close friend - Don't take sides. Don't speculate. Don't create dumb rumours. It's quite frankly none of our business anyway...
+Kansai & Beyond Exactly! Fans trying to get involved in their idol's lives ONLY hurts those idols and the people around them. If we fans truly care about our idols, we need to take a step back and let them live. We are selfish, immature, and harmful. The "Scandals" are always fueled by fans and it is the real reason why members are asked to leave, groups disband, and it even costs idols their lives. We are the most guilty.
@@IkanariPh fr… the comments here are so annoying, “mina didn’t get consequences, y’all are letting her do what she wants” what? Mina is ome of the most hated individuals and has been disliked for months because she tried to get a nurse fired. Mind you, the full story isn’t out yet, both mina’s and jimin’s side are full of holes and questions because of course they will be, it’s all hearsay and everything happened years ago.
@@Youngnrrwhtjwtjetk i think its misinterpreted by mina, she is fragile and everything was seen directed to her or thinks jimin hates her but jimin I think is more different and probably didn't mean to hurt her ,,, she even Apologized u can see the dispatch ss
Lets be real, Mina released all these alleged bully stories right after the remaining AOA members trying to revive their careers which is a big red flag. It seems like she, Mina didn't want to see the remaining AOA members to become successful again.
Actually there's a theory that she tries to seek attention when something related to the AOA members happens, for example on Chamni's birthday Mina posted about receiving help from a chaman and getting better, then the day Seolhyun made her youtube channel, again Mina came up with something new, and so on.
@@Izfar916 most likely yes, and i think the best we can do is ignore her and support the other girls that had a difficult time because of all this situation.
People on the internet truly believe anything anyone says. The fact that a girls whole life was ruined over some lies is ridiculous. Mina is clearly ill and needs help, but she also behaved incredibly irresponsibly and even cruelly. I doubt she will suffer any consequences though, and despite it all Jimins career is still over.
she ruined the lives of multiple people, she ruined the lives of the jimin and the remaining aoa members, she ruined the life of a nurse, she made a guy leave his girlfriend for mina and then acted as if the girlfriends father was threatening her and calling her names which wasn't the truth she sent her self harm wrist to the boyfriend so he would take all the blame. she is blaming her std on freaking shin jimin idk what to tell you even more
Seolhyun letting her career rot for her bestfriend is something. She sticks by her side until the drama ended. She didn't speak out nor address the issue because it will cause more tension. I wish people are like that to someone that they love as their friend. She sacrificed her career for her and when everything is clear, people are fine with her again.
I personally never understood why people don't speak up when they are getting dragged by someone's lies. I think that what made people believe even more that Jimin was guilty was the fact that she disappeared after her last post and never really tried to defend herself. Like, yeah sure, it's cool that she may have tried to take care of it in private, but I feel like when an issue is made public, it should be resolved publicly to avoid people misunderstanding and hating the wrong person.
@@stanateezstanseventeenstan5408 because even if they did defend themselves mina would threaten them with SH and manipulate them with her fragile mental health. they would get hated on more by the public.
@@sunmiswashingmachine yeah but like, idk. If all of the girls spoke out, it would have maybe been different. Anyways, it's great that the "truth" is resurfacing now.
Also the damage is already done. For all we know Jimin never really bullied her because a fight between friend is not equal to bullying. But Jimin will now forever be remembered by a lot of people as a bully. Doesn't matter if the truth came out, she'll hardly be able to fix her reputation now
That’s what I’ve always said. I prefer staying neutral, not because I don’t want to support the victim, but because I don’t want any more victims to be created.
@@nerasomnia sadly they say if you are remain neutral that means siding with the perpetrators, and then they're going to attack you if you voice ur opinion. I saw many people who chose to remain neutral on social media getting attacked. So many goes with this "i rather trust a potential liar than a potential _____" when their life is not the one that is on stake
i think what you all should learn here in the comments is that the situation isn't one sided in either direction, it's a complicated and nuanced situation where the real villain is the toxic environment they were in that made them both behave badly to each other.
"believing the victim" doesn't mean bullying a complete stranger, specially without proof and yes, celebrities are complete stranger because all we know about them is what they choose to show
Yes thank you! There's two extremes here: Bullying the alleged victim and accusing them of lying. Or: Bullying the alleged perpetrator. People need to finally see neither of both is about "believing". They are about canceling.
As a person who was terribly bullied when I was younger to the point that I have many thoughts about not being in the world anymore, there comes a point where you have to realize your bully only has as much power to hurt you as you give them. I would never tell the names of any of my bullies from that dark period in my life because it would negate both their ability and mine to grow and learn to do and be better. I did see a few of them years later and I found that when asked most of them didn't remember what they had done and had no idea the extent of what was happening to me at the time. They apologized and while some of it has left mental and emotional scars that probably will always be there I find I am stronger for it and better at sticking up for myself and empathizing with others who are in pain.
what cancellers dont get: believing the victim does NOT equal sending death threads to the accused. Its our job to believe the victim and give them a platform so ACTUAL law and court can sort this out.
I know this was 10 months ago but I want to say that I agree 100%. I'm a firm supporter of believing the victim until/unless there is reason not to , always. Attacking the accused is *not* believing the victim. It has nothing to do with supporting the victim and everything to do with you wanting to attack someone.
I know this was more than 10 months ago I but I want to say that I disagree. There are more options than belief and disbelief. You shouldn't do either. Belief means you think it's true, so of course that means doing what you think is justified to punish the accused. No, the rational response is to take it seriously and investigate but hold your belief until the facts come out. Don't believe, verify.
How do you know if the victim is indeed one or just a liar ? I think what you meant is "listen to people when they complain and do research to find the truth "
Damn, it’s so sad that we learnt nothing from T-ara situation. It’s like we just repeated history all over again and made it 10x worse. Let this be the final time that we let another situation like this happen again.
@@u-kisslover9921 Hwayoung and her sister bullied Ahruem and then lied on a social media that T-ara bullied Hwa. Back in 2015/2016 ex T-ara staff revealed that Hwa lied about everything. She even said her leg is in pain just to not perform.
Let's learn from the past . Let's not take sides based on internet and news . Cancelling someone because of some controversy which doesn't have both sides of the story or a complete story . Online bullying is a thing which may leave somebody deeply scared for life . So let's not victimize somebody or make villians .

Jimin, Soojin, and Garam all fell victim to people who choose to blame the accused before any sufficient evidence was provided. Their companies did nothing but toss them to the wind because they didn’t value the girls enough to do what’s right. Sad to see people’s careers get sabotaged like that.
@@shwetha1244 i get that but what i don’t understand is why they couldn’t wait until the court case was over and proved garam innocent… they defended her when most people believed the accusations and were hating on garam but tossed her once people were starting to feel like the accusations were fake? i wish they had stood their ground, showed she was proved innocent, kept her in hiatus for a little longer for tensions to ease and then let her continue activities.
People were bullying jimin before and now they're bullying mina. Honestly it's not These two, it's the kpop community who's toxic af. It's funny how they change lanes so quickly 🤣🤣
@prxncess xo they tried that... Mina still played victim. I think a lot of information should have been clarified especially with evidence. Like how Mina kept changing her story.
@@seanlo206 yeah they literally drove them to their death and act like saints now. I have seen people leave comments on sulli saying they're sorry they bullied her like tf? You're the reason she commited suicide (honestly it wasn't even a suicide, it was murder) And then they will do the same shit to other idols .smh
You are so right! People are doing the exact bullying they claim to hate. Neither of the two should be bullied or harassed. It has gotten way out of hand.
The fact that Mina had to clarify that her alleged abuser was not a celebrity or else netizens would start accusing random idols just shows how netizens love drama and cancel culture. They will literally fabricate anything just to be outraged even if there’s no rational cause for accusing someone. They think just because a random idol pops in their head then that means they can suspect them even if there’s no correlation between them and Mina and that’s just insane to me…
nah it was mina kept changing her words. she first referred the abuser as a celebrity - to get more attention. days after she clarified he wasn't a celebrity, but rather a popular figure in the area she lived. there were a lot of pressure for her to drop the name of the supposed celebrity (esp from knetz), but he wasn't so mina resorted to change her words again lmao
And the pic she posted on Instagram (I think you guys might know), it feels unsettling because it feels like she's doing it for revenge, not to raise mental health awareness. It's like Hannah Baker's story in 13 Reasons Why.
@Ra lee when an anonymous celebrity is involved in a scandal, knetz main goal is to reveal their identity and destroy their career. when mina addressed the assaulter as a celebrity, of course it would garner knetz attention. knetz wouldn't care at all unless the assaulter is a public figure.
@Ra lee why did she have to mention it was a popular celebrity then? not to mention how she quickly concluded that she has since forgiven her r***st to sweep the whole thing under the rug. she brought it up because she wanted to drag jimin again lmao
You missed one important point in Mina's boyfriend scandal. Mina actually claimed that the ex-girlfriend's father swore at her and insulted her. But the ex-girlfriend released screenshots of the father's polite texts. That's when people started realizing how much Mina tends to lie about these things.
She also allegedly kept threatening to hurt herself if he broke up with her (Mina), so it's not as simple as Mina getting hate for being the second woman.
We need to talk about kpop fans cutting up and compiling out-of-context clips that literally have nothing to do with the situation. That, and this strange culture of virtue signaling and performative activism is exactly what contributes to overblown scandals.
Exactly. Its funny how when the initial incident happened like Idol A playfully punching Idol B, they were just fooling around, everyone laughed about it and thought it was cute. Or when Idol A accidentally ran in to Idol B mid performance, fans thought it was a cute human error. But when Idol A gets accused of being a bully, suddenly those same clips everyone laughed about are used as "evidence" of Idol A's abusive nature and how horrible they are. The way "fans" cut up and compile these clips is, they take away the initial context, they only show that specific moment, put it in slow motion, and title it "Idol A hit Idol B HARD" what that does is, it causes the viewer to go in to the video with a predetermined bias of Idol A being the bad guy and often times, unless you're a huge fan who has seen that clip a million times with the initial context, these evidence videos become very believable. And often times, the people who use these videos as evidence long after Idol A has been cleared are the people who were never really fans of the idol in the first place. It's like with the whole Lucas thing (I'm not going to talk about his situation because that's an entirely different discussion, I'm just using this piece as an example of context). One of the things people are using as an example of him being the bad guy is that he fatshamed Winwin. I've seen many people state this and that stemmed from a clip where he said "Winwin is a fatty" yes verbally those words did come out of his mouth, BUT the entire context of the clip was it was part of a whisper challenge GAME and Lucas misheard the actual phrase. During that time, everyone laughed about it (Winwin included). But now, it's used as "evidence" of his character. And the people who continue to use this piece are the ones who likely never watched WayV content or seen that clip. Again, I'm not here to discuss Lucas, just using this tidbit as an example of how things can be twisted when the context is taken away.
like people taking scenes out of context from unpretty rapstar lol i was like bitch you didn't even watch the show cause you're talking about stuff that didn't happen and also you don't even keep up with the group so wft. It was really hell trying to speak the obvious that Mina had no prof and have been harassing her ex members for about 2 years. In what world is this ok
This. The same thing happened with the Woojin situation where there were so many videos going around “proving” that woojin abused the members when he was in the group. Honestly so stupid
AOA might actually disband next year as… 1. They have been on hiatus for about 2 years 2. There are currently 3 members in the group (Chanmi, Seolhyun, Hyejeong) 3. None of them might be active
Is Yuna still part of the group? Edit: Oh right, I remember that she left a few months ago. They lost another main vocalist. Their chances in making their comeback is really slim now.
mina didn't just ruin jimin's career, she's also ruined all of the other members careers. not to mention the trauma everyone involved had. bullying is a serious matter but the way mina dealt with it was so beyond unnaceptable. i feel bad for everyone involved, mina aswell because mental illness can lead to selfish and unplanned behaviour that you can never go back and fix, the damage is permanent. but i feel specially bad for jimin, she saw mina speaking whatever distorted thoughts that came to her mind during months without never being able to defend herself and show her side to the public. everything about it is so sad.
I had a friend whose ex planned to un-alive themself specifically to make everyone blame him for leaving her. If he hadn't screenshot the text and sent it to her family, it may have worked. She's received help but that big seed of mistrust she planted is deeply rooted now. There are people out there that hate someone more than they value their own lives, and that's scary to see.
same thing happened to my friend with her ex. it was his fault why she left him in the first place (he cheated). I told her to tell his parents/people he lives with in case anything happens but idk what happened after that.
I still can't get over that i once sided with this woman. Just because you had a mental health problem or trauma, doesn't mean you can excuse everything and anything with it. As someone who experienced dealing with people like Mina, sometimes being around someone who called themselves "victim" can be a huge danger.
right? like people are still behind this man, I know he's apart of Bigbang but the dude is literally watching someone r*pe another person and people still consider this man not guilty wtf, it baffles me how blind people can be to their biases
I just feel bad for the other AOA members. They were getting more fans with bingle bangle and Seolhyun's career was taking off with her acting and tons of CFs..... especially after so many turned to look at the girls after Queendom.
Agreed Especially Seolhyun Because her and Jimin are so close with each other💔 But there was a picture of both Jimin and Seolhyun together allegedly taken this year so I hope there both happy and healthy
K-pop stans keep excusing Mina's behavior because of her mental health, and instead of holding her accountable for her actions they just say that she should just "get some help", but what about Jimin guys? The girl everybody blindly hated and sent death threats to for more than a year? The girl who's personal life, reputation, career and dreams got destroyed over allegations with no evidences? Do y'all care about *her* mental health? Even before the scandal happened, she suffered from self image issues and an eating disorder. When Mina started her accusations, K-pop stans immediately turned on her and started calling her "ugly" and "freakish looking" (I even saw a comment once that called her an "alien looking monkey" that had more than 1.5k likes😬). But now y'all want to preach about mental health?
you honestly cannot blame people for acting and saying things based on the information they had at the time, which is exactly what you’re doing now. nobody should have sent hate to jimin at the time but blaming them for doing it when they couldn’t even know the other side is unfair
@@izzydog158 1. Yes I absolutely CAN blame people for blindly hating on someone over unproven accusations tf. They could've stayed neutral and unbiased but they didn't, that's their choice and they should own up to it. 2. I'm literally just calling out the hipocrisy of the K-pop fandom. Stop pointing fingers at me and defending this toxic fandom. It's inexcusable at this point.
I don’t like that she is victimizing her own life and weaponizing it against people who do not agree with her. That’s just so low. There’s no respect or sympathy left for that kind of behavior.
As much as fan involvement has been a driving force for much of the negative impacts of this story, I really feel like maybe some fan support for jimin would help. I think she really feels as if the entire world hates her and that she can’t show her face anymore. Positive support would really do her some good right now I think. Hopefully jimin just lies low for a little bit while this all blows over and can make a return. I feel like she’d make some great mixtapes or something. Live a slightly more low key life with just her dedicated fans, making some tunes and doing some small shows and livestreams. No massive hate trains just a nice chill lifestyle doing what she likes.

me too. i honestly thought that even if it was true she should have taken it to the proper authorities and kept it in her private life since it’s such a serious topic
I've been neutral throughout this whole event because I don't listen to AOA but I'll never forget the comments about Jimin and I quote : "Jimin face has that kind of villain bitch face", "Her face structure gives of bad vibes" I wonder how those people are doing right now.
I hate those kind of comments the most. Like honey, what does someone's exterior has to do with their actions? You're clearly just using this situation to express your hatred towards that person.
This kinda drama, no one wins. Average ppl would think mina shuts up after jimin quit the industry. No, she still continues to mention her, again and again. Mina literally got no one to point gun to but Jimin. It means Mina IS miserable. Not to mention her shenanigans literally brought down the whole group, the other members. No one wins. If mina still goes on a revenge mode + her fans enabling her, this will not end anytime sooner.
yes im really worried... even before this whole expose thing jimin was already so sickly looking... i hope jimin has her friends and family by her side
Oh god, it's like history repeated itself after the T-ara scandal. Let this be a lesson to be neutral when a scandal happens. We don't know these people personally so we aren't in a place to judge who is bad or who is good. Most of the time, it's a gray area I just hope both parties manage to get the help they need and take a good looooooooong break from social media to recover.
even then and now, i strongly believe that its the netizen's fault for destroying a group's bright future back then and now jimin's. whatever happened between these girls , the company could have resolved it or the law if it was really extreme but when these "fans" start playing savior they end up ruining alot of lives. these girls are grown ass adults and are capable to find a solution if they approach the right people for help. hwayoung is still hated and isnt able to succeed as an actress even tho she is a phenomenal one because of something she did as a teenager almost a decade ago when it was clearly the FANS who chose to believe her , hate the other girls , gave them threats and what not and then are suddenly their protectors (?) from what , a teenager lying for attention ? . they shouldve defended them from the fans themsleves. now watch the AOA fans bully mina back because THEY stupidly chose to believe her.
People just don't learn. I read alotvof twt account reminds people about t. ara and explain the possibility we might get "pranked" again but they are being attacked for bringing back t. ara and call them bully etc
People are naturally inclined to protect victims, and in some cases they are. But it honestly has nothing to do with any of us, we only get a small portion of the story. When it comes to any story like this, trust but verify. Verifying is important before taking action, yet is impossible for the average viewer because we only get a tiny glimpse into their situation. In that case no action should be taken.
The difference is, that there never was any bullying in T-Ara and Hwayoung never even said that she was bullied. She even once said, that she wasn’t, but everyone made their own opinion instead of believing it and just cut some videos that it looked like she was bullied, while people never watched the complete episodes of some of these cuts. Unfortunately some stuff just came late 5 years later to tell what really happend. For AOA we don’t even know what really happend any more.
I remember when Russian kpop community was shocked to read the news about Jimin and AOA and many kpop fans were on Mina’s side. But the more news appeared the more fans started to doubt whether Mina was an ordinary victim or a victim who became a villain with victim behavior. The scariest thing I’ve seen is when Mina uploaded the post of her veins being cut with blood. It was terrific. And then we all discovered she payed on the platform which gave access to some disturbing content for money to download this cut hands’ photo & uploaded on Instagram ☠️
I really enjoyed watching all 3 of your videos covering this issue because it's so detailed and filled with prove to contradict Mina's statement. Well done queen 🥰
Hi Kat! I know it's probably not realistic to ask for a full video about cultural appropriation in Kpop, but can I ask if the latest Dreamcatcher music video 'BEcause' is a positive example of Kpop groups showcasing inspiration from African-American stories/culture, since it appears heavily based upon Jordan Peele's film 'Us'? I personally don't see anything wrong with using that narrative as the story for a video, but just wanted to get another perspective since I'm not familiar with the issue of cultural appropriation.
Soojin from G-idle was the same right? the accusers story started to fall apart and even got to the point saying that she couldn't even remember if it was Soojin doing the bullying in the first place. It's a shame that we keep loosing so many talented people to cancel culture.
I hope after all this people learn to not be so quick to judge when there are no hard evidence, if we continue like this, more talented people will be ruined. 2020 and 2021 was the worse years for kpop idols, there were so many innocent idols getting canceled. I hope 2022 will be better
And get this: The sisters who started this nonsense are commiting crimes against Soojin's family left and right, like Identity Theft with Soojin's sister as their Victim, plotting to murder her mother, and I'm sensing they're commiting perjury as well, and oh boy, Seo Shin Ae, the one you mentioned, loves to support criminals, let alone commit crimes, does she?
Can I just say Ploopy, this has been one of the most respectful comment sections I've seen about the situation. That just shows how good a community you have. The truth may also never come out one day and we should treat it that way.
Actually at first, i was defending her and i was on her side. As someone who has also suffered from depression and experienced being left out and being bullied, i feel where she's coming from and i want to sympathize with her bcs i know how hard that is for her. I constantly commented on her posts, positive words and i say that she should quit sns and focus on her healing because sns will not help her. But after witnessing all of this, seeing how inconsistent her statements are and when dispatch released her conversation with jimin, i was taken a back because none of her claims matches the messages they've exchanged..... I was really disappointed... After that, i just stop getting myself involve in that issue anymore.
I seriously believe that she needs help, all I was thinking of is where her friends and family were at throughout this... I'm not siding with either parties but I hope that they settle this drama peacefully
Well Mina just got her Instagram and posted yesterday..who knows...the caption of her new post is the truth is coming or something like that so she’s probably just gonna say more ridicules stuff but maybe not
mina talked shit about her own sister because her sister didn't want to give her a expensive product for free and minas mother took the self harm pictures of her daughter and sent it to her ex boyfriend to manipulate him into taking all the blame.
Fully the way people treated Jimin after this was evil Like even if everything Mina claimed was 100% true, the degree of cruelty in people's comments to Jimin was still fully unwarranted People were just saying shit like she was crazy, untalented, ugly, etc, etc. It just didn't feel right to me
Ikr, during those peak times. I always reply to not post hate comments on the alleged bully because how are you not different. I always believed people have reasons for their actions. During the war against Jimin, Jimin's side was never actually heard. Everyone is siding Mina as if they were there. Smh, netizens should stop making every celebrity's life their business. Lots were ruined here, not just the AOA girls but their managers and other who worked behind them. Debuting a girl group takes time and money, I feel bad for everyone who has to suffer.
Just giving everyone an update: According to Shin Jimin herself, at the onset of the scandal, Lee Hyori (a 1st generation idol, who has a legendary career) found out about the news of Jimin and was excessively reaching out to Jimin on every single platform that Jimin has. Hyori wanted Jimin to stay with her until Jimin can get back on her feet after her name is cleared (which Jimin accepted). Jimin then performed "U-Go-Girl" in a competition show as a way of saying thank you to Lee Hyori for giving Jimin a safe place to stay. Mind you, Hyori didn't interact with Jimin before. On another note, I'm so happy that Jimin's name is cleared and (if I haven't had more respect already for Hyori, because Lee Hyori is still very respectable in my eyes since when I first got into KPOP), my respect for Hyori is very great for doing such an amazing thing for Jimin!
How often will this happen before people realize not to believe everything they read? First T-ara, then AOA, and now the same thing is happening with April. they were actually on the right momentum to revive their career after Queendom... And then this Mina fiasco happened, initially I was siding with Mina, but after much thinking the timing was quite suspicious.. It feels like a small rift turn into jealousy and revenge...
I think the attempt initially failed tho cuz cowboy concepts don't really do well in korea, it was a bad concept choice that flopped an otherwise good song alongside minas instagram fiascos.
I think this is a good opportunity for self reflection. I also believed the news at the time but I am vey regretful for believing it. I think I will step away from anything controversial in the news now if it doesn’t affect me or my beliefs.
it's been like WEEKS since the lies about jimin were debunked but i haven't seen western twitter or youtube apologizing to her i really don't know why those people hate to be proven wrong even if it goes against their so called "morals" like what's so hard about admitting you're wrong about something or someone and just sincerely apologizing? jimin has been through so much and basically lost her career and friends and peace of mind over lies but those people would rather ignore facts and continue acting like she's a bad person just because they don't wanna admit they were wrong smh
It sounds like she started with a small truth and AOA genuinely tried to address the situation rationally, but because of all the media attention and netizen involvement (and death threats to both sides) things got extremely out of hand. I also wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t some amount of pressure she felt to continue upping the anti, as her revelations about abuse continued to get more and more extreme in topic. I don’t necessarily believe she was or wasn’t lying, and I can imagine how toxic and difficult it would be to finally be facing all of your trauma in the public eye… I genuinely hope she gets some help.
From what i see Mina is socially awkward and toxic person to be around or friends with. This led to other members not liking her and trying to be not close with her. After gaining attention and fame she just started to show her toxic side . She does have some mental problem . But i can't blame other members. I personally avoid such people instead of acting like an angel and trying to befriend them. Sorry i am not mother Theresa.Toxic people just suck all of your energy instead of getting better with help.
Same I feel like Mina exaggerated things but she wasn't lying 100%. Tbh both Mina and Jimin shouldn't get hate at all since we are not really aware what exactly went on
Believe the victim over the perpetrator? No. Believe nobody. Respect everyone. Towards the victim, we must act supportive and comforting, because even if we can't be sure of all the details, we can tell that this person is suffering. You don't doubt what they say to their face, or where they can hear, as it may hurt them. But it doesn't mean this person is telling the absolute truth, even if we can be convinced that they are telling the truth as it presents to them. But the potential perpetrator is _innocent until proven guilty beyond all sensible doubt._ Because otherwise, the fundamental freedoms are at stake, any one of us can be condemned just because someone said something, whether it's true or not. @@aprettybigeifyouaskme173 We don't exactly know how traumatized Mina is. Mina's action is an indication of her trauma of wanting revenge. She wants Jimin to experience the pain she is going through. Her mental issues will only worsen since social media bullying continues. Just like this video, this is a good example of social media bullying.
In all honesty, the Dispatch release only served to confirm a lot of what K-netizens were already questioning Kwon Mina about. A few months ago in early 2021 she kept posting strange remarks and was caught flat-out lying about the former AOA member in her live streams. Only international fans who didn't pay attention after the accusations blew up have been taken completely off-guard.
lets be honest, people these days just love cancelling celebrities.. doesnt matter if they're wrong or not.. the hunger for cancelling celebrities is almost like the new witch hunt.. its dumb.
I understand the "believe the victim first" pov, but I don't agree... I believe the facts, of course, I will empathize with the victim's feelings and respect that person's need for help, however as someone who witnessed the attempts and outcomes of false accusations, I will always remain neutral until the facts prove otherwise. And yes that goes the same for men and women. I have a brother who was falsely accused and let me tell you it's not something a SORRY can fix!
Yikes. Your brother probably abused someone and now you're claiming false accusations. Less than 3% of victims are false accusations so yeah. Believe victims. If you side with an abuser then you're just as bad and part of the problem. Please like you are why 98% of assault cases are never prosecuted. Just disgusting

Bruhhhh, this feels... idk man. I noticed her main goal was to destroy jimin and the other members when she pushed it so hard over social media but i didn't expect her to be the villain
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can its not that, its the fact she went wayyy too far, lied about jimin not apologizing properly then whatever issues or drama she came up she blamed it on jimin Edit: on top of that, she brought up the other members even though they genuinely had nothing to deal with it causing a bunch of hate to go to them. On top of THAT she couldn't even keep her story straight
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can go watch Ever glowup's breakdown of Mina. There's a lot you don't understand it seems. Mina wasn't a victim. She's been through a lot but it wasn't AOA'S fault
I love how you handled this story. I'm actually unfamiliar with this story and was watching your vid on a whim. But you handled everything with compassion and gave grace to both Jimin and Mina. I really admire that and am subscribing.
The belief that Mina is lying that her father was abusive because she expressed love for her father and missing him is a hard thing for people to not believe in, but as you stated, it’s not a very simple thing. Someone close to me lost their parent, who was very abusive in their childhood, but they loved them and miss them now they’re gone, even though they made their childhood very difficult and traumatic. When it’s someone you lived with for two decades, who raised you, even if they did bad things to you or other people, it can be hard to get over them, and you can still have a love for them regardless. So, I don’t think anyone should really say that Mina is lying about he father being abusive. Does this make anything else that she did that was wrong okay? Absolutely not. But I just wanted to mention this because we can’t call someone out and expect change if we aren’t targeting things that we can actually be sure about.
jimin went through all of this and stayed quiet most of the time she was getting so much hate imagine how hard it was for her she was leader she must have been blaming herself for letting things get this far
The people that say you should believe “the victim” first are the same people that would cry out about the unfairness if they’d be the ones accused….just stay neutral until you know the full story from both sides
This honestly should apply to all allegations. We've been through this with T-ARA now the history repeated itself and all it did is to prove people never learned
I think this whole ''believe victims'' thing is some very flawed reasoning, because you're going from the assumption that they're actually a victim. I think you can be completely sympathetic and understanding, without actually believing everything someone says. There should always be room for critical thought and trying to get to the truth without blaming or taking sides.
you are absolutely right. we can definitely be supportive of the "victim" and be there for them and at the same time understand the situation in head and not get drawn to conclusions. both can be done which many not realise
The whole group need therapy and help, not bashing, Jimin doesn’t need bashing, SeolHyun doesn’t either, it’s obvious Mina has an on growing obsession with this and needs a lot of help

i think it’s safe to say after this incident with jimin and mina, i’m not going to take a side immediately anymore. i think it’s best to wait for further information in order to make a clear judgement of incidents like these.
I think mina and jimin both deserve to be happy, to move on and have families or do whatever makes them happy, they have both done unforgettable things to eachother and others but we can always forgive and move forward to the future, both were wrong and right in some scenarios and I wish they can release their hatred to whomever they hate in a positive way and move on. Amazing video ploopy I really loved watching this
Thank goodness majority of the world follow presumption of innocence - other countries like China actually follow presumption of guilt. So consider yourself totally fxcked if the state decided you're guilty
I feel so guilty for believing Mina and all of us who who believed her and stopped supporting Mina and those who even cyberbullied her need to apologise to her. We ruined her career
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can why ? Then , should we feel bad to mina who has disgusting behaviour and play (clingy-to-media-social) play victim ... nice joke bud
And this just reminds us again that we need BOTH stories. And its so dangerous to choose sides when we cant know the full story. Jimin was my fav in aoa so seeing what was revelaed about her made me feel so bad. I do think jimin wasnt a great person to mina but the treatment shes received is inhumane. Mina cant put her mental health on jimin. Shes an adult and needs to seek help. Its also not possible to ignore how jimin has suffered herself - eating disorder etc. And having her sex life exposed is just horrible. Thats so personal and mina did not have any need to share it.
I feel so bad for Shin Jimin and her AOA members, they suffered greatly from accusing them to the point of tarnishing their group reputation. I hoped that the recognition from Queendom would've made the group active hopefully but after this scandal, it ruined the group in bad light, their fans and to the public who won't look up to them anymore. It is so unfortunate for the other members she has dragged into, they were the bystanders and she accused Jimin the entire time. She is the one who suffered the most after getting cancelled from others getting into the bandwagon and making her feel bad. It is so sad knowing their members idol career's are ruined and they won't be confident to seen well to their fans and netizens due to Mina's contradictory actions in the first place...
Mina is like a Korean Trisha Paytas. Mowing everyone down with pathologically lying in the sake of attention and sympathy for her and not caring what happens to the people she mows down.
@@athoibakhuraijam3002 ow its u again i guess u shouldn't divide jimin or mina fans as different people. They are the same set of people once batting from this side then from the other side. The people who likes to DIG and wants SPICE to see.
I think Trisha does it in a way more broad spectrum hurting way more people. They both got hard mental health problems that they should get working on.
Regardless of what really happened in this situation, there’s a disturbing trend nowadays of bullying others by claiming THEY’RE the bullies and getting them in trouble or canceled. It’s disgusting and insulting to actual bullying victims. It’s not just in kpop either. I knew people in highschool and college who would use these kinds of tactics to abuse people they didn’t like or manipulate people in their friend groups.
I am happy to say I was sceptical of Mina's story from the beginning. Bullies generally don't get a lot of support, but Jimin was supported by her fellow members.
I feel like this is the “Dramagedon” of the K-Pop Industry. You always have to know until both sides had a chance to speak that there are always two sides of the story and while bullying accusations are something very serious that this is nothing that should immediately have repercussions as the accused needs time to speak. I mean after the bullying accusations got out every day and affected idols that much we really had to overthink our actions. But people still like to jump on the bandwagon and will never learn. Then it’s important to not give them a platform because it’ll only get bigger by that.
There was already a bigger drama period with T-ara, tho nobodies career really ended on that case. T-ara were wrongfully labeled as bullies and their career dropped massively and stagnated, from being at the top of the game with girls generation to a third tier group that not a lot of people care abt anymore. Until it was all undone years later when the members who cried abt bullying ended up exposing themselves and got further exposed by the staff who were working with T-ara at the time. Hwayoungs acting career never really took off but she had some jobs over the year while T-ara kept going strong musically while people shunned them until they were in their final few months where they dropped their goodbye album and they received their last first place win on a music show in years after it was uncovered that they never bullied anyone.
I sincerely hope that Jimin is doing ok, this whole situation can give anyone depression. I hope that we don't have to loose yet another idol because of this. Someone should seriously take Mina to a psychiatrist or take her to rehab, she needs it. Who knows that after getting her lies exposed, she could possibly try to take her life again.
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can This video literally talked about how she hasn't been seen/how the only stuff about her was from her neighbour etc. Those were clearly recent photos, and it's interesting that no one seemed to pick up on it.
I don’t think it should be “believe all victims.” It should be “believe all evidence.” Just believing anybody simply for a story they tell and not looking at any real evidence, does more harm than good. Not only does it hurt people who have been wrongly accused, but it hurts real victims as well. Cases like this, where the “victim” turns out to be lying, makes it harder for real victims to be taken seriously. The unfortunate reality is that there will be people who lie about these things, so it’s important to not jump into conclusions and make assumptions. Wait for evidence and do not take sides until there is proof. So many people have been hurt through false accusations and just blindly believing anybody doesn’t help
Tbh even this is harmful to real victims. So many victims get told that no one believes them if they don't have proof (and depending on the situation it can be hard, or even impossible, to get proof).
@@jupitersyarn But what? Always believing "victims" is a much dangerous path as you're about to destroy two lives: the "real" victims having manipulative and liars use their experiences for clout chasing - that when these liars are proven to be lying, like Mina, make it harder for real victims to fight as less people will believe them. On top of that you're going to destroy innocent lives because "you'd rather believe victims". That's why the court and the law follow presumption of innocence as it is the best way to protect both parties from possible unnecessary harm.
@@axisboise Yes I agree that people who lie make it harder for real victims to get justice, and I hate people like that. Like I said, saying you can't believe victims unless they have evidence doesn't always work because sometimes victims can't get evidence of what happened to them (saying this from personal experience). Sometimes people don't believe victims even when they do have evidence. To be clear, I'm not saying the original comment is completely wrong, it's just my perspective. I've seen a lot of people say stuff like that to completely discredit the stories of victims and brush them aside. I think it's more complicated than just being like "We have to always believe victims" or "We shouldn't believe victims unless they have evidence".
I hope Jimin comes back and presses charges. I feel like she just gave up for her own mental health and hoped the truth would come out at somepoint. Don't know if it exists there but Mina needs to be put in a mental health facility. She is a danger to herself and others right now. She's not stable, she'll do anything to keep attention on herself.
At the beginning of the scandal, I was praising and supporting Mina to receive a better recovery from her past bullies. Ever since dispatch revealed everything, I was convinced that Mina was using Jimin for attention and praise. I still can't believe I stood up for a liar who ruined someone's career. In the future, I promised I wouldn't take any sides.
When people say “believing the victim is better than believing a potential perpetrator” they’re completely forgetting that if the accuser is a liar then the actual victim is the ‘potential perpetrator’. They’re not ‘believing the victim’, they’re just believing the accuser.
You missed some important details : 1.About the SA situation she said she forgave the person who assaulted her bc he apologized...and that he's still a better person than Jimin. 2.She stole the man yeah because she KNEW he had a girlfriend, maybe you don't like the phrasing "stealing someone" but she's a nasty home wrecker. (And said lies on the girlfriend, saying that her father threatened her and suggested he was involved with the mafia but it's not true) 3. Before the ex girlfriend incident she made a nurse loose her job, bc she didn't like her tone when they spoke together for an appointment... 4. She was always pretty and shady, whenever an AOA member or an fnc artist got something going on she posted some shit in IG. Ex : on Chanmi's birthday she said that she went to see a shaman, and her soul was cleaned from the evil spirits that were the one ruining her life ... 5. Why don't you mention her lies? She said Jimin and FNC didn't let her see her father but it's not true, FNC Ent cleared her schedules and her manager even offered to drive her to the hospital but SHE declined. And so many more... You can watch everglow-up videos on the situation that are very detailed, and "a5a forever" IG
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can you don't seem to understand, you need to look more into the case with all of the messages that we had. (The boyfriend, the ex also provided screenshots) When Mina started to talk to the guy she knew about the girlfriend, she asked the guy about his girlfriend!! She knew and yet she hit on him! Maybe this is something you'll be comfortable doing but for most ppl knowingly interfering in a romantic relationship is a very shitty behaviour, some might call it being a nasty hoe, and I wouldn't disagree... By the way you don't seem to know, that's why you always need to look deep into different cases before commenting, but the guy and the ex gf were together for 3 YEARS, not 2 weeks!! What is interesting is that it's the only thing that is bothering you 👀... like are you ok with her lies? Her slut shaming Jimin on her supposed sex life (even tho she's the one who got an std)...? Is that a KMA fan thing or an american pseudo feminist thing ?
Everyone jumped down Jimins throat the moment info came out that she “bullied” Mina. It’s honestly disgusting the fact that everyone didn’t even give a chance for Jimin to prove her innocence. I remember getting ATTACKED by commenters when I tried to defend Jimin. Saying I was an “enabler.” Shame on all the people who contributed to destroying Jimins life! Shame on you!!!!
According to Jimin years later, Lee Hyori (a 1st gen legend) reached out to Jimin and gave her a safe place to stay at Lee Hyori's home until the controversy was over.

To me, it sounds like a young person in the midst of a depressive breakdown. When I was just turning 20 I had a mental breakdown and tried to end it all. I remember feeling like everyone and everything in life was against me. It's been a few years and I am still working out what really happened and others peoples feelings and intentions. It seems like Mina was going through the same thing, except she vented online. With the internet having people who act in extreme ways, it muddys the already misty water in discerning who was in the right at who was in the wrong.
I feel u and felt this way too and it caused so much trauma my memory and cognitive abitlies suffered greatly. I’m slowly healing and hopefully one day I will be normal again
I’m so concerned for all parties. Mental health is awful, but is never an excuse for this behavior. I hope Mina gets help, as well as Jimin and AOA because this stuff is very traumatizing. Also - don’t engage in cancel culture, guys. You can withdraw your support but harassing and bullying people you’ve never met always makes the situation worse. Remember especially with celebrities that they have publicists and ride-or-die fans who will do anything to make them look good, so the stories you see online aren’t always true or the full story.
I knew someone like Mina incredibly unstable and could not handle constructive criticism. She took everything you said as an attack. I was so relieved to find out one day she had blocked me on everything and it felt like i was free. Then she went around saying I was a terrible person who never supported her. I was just lucky everyone knew what she was like and did not believe her. She would self harm and overdose on meds. She almost died twice it was so traumatic for me I just wanted her to get better. I can’t blame her though both of her parents are terrible people they are the ones that did this to her.
As a victim of SA, the months following the realisation of what had happened to me, I was very erratic. Quick to anger, always emotional, was fixated on it for a good chuck of a year, and unconsciously didn't allow others to talk about the good and bad things in their lives. I think the only thing that was consistent with me was my story, with the added information that I progressively realised (snowball effect of the things that were done to me, it didn't all come back at once, but bits and pieces did overtime). A lot of Mina's behaviour reminds me of what I was like during that time. The erraticness, the dramatic emotions and the fixation. However, because she wasn't consistent, its obvious that there wasn't truth to what she was saying. Just clear severe mental health issues that lead to those behaviours. I feel for her, but also have an air of heavy caution.
Let's not forget about the ktuber Everglow-Up who was the first to comment on Mina's suspicious behaviour and got a lot of hate from Stan Twitter because of her video calling out Mina and her lies

The whole "believe the victim" idea kinda falls apart when you realise that if the accuser is lying, that makes the alleged "perpetrator" the victim.
Also the damage is already done. For all we know Jimin never really bullied her because a fight between friend is not equal to bullying. But Jimin will now forever be remembered by a lot of people as a bully. Doesn't matter if the truth came out, she'll hardly be able to fix her reputation now

Yes thank you!
There's two extremes here: Bullying the alleged victim and accusing them of lying.
Or: Bullying the alleged perpetrator.
People need to finally see neither of both is about "believing". They are about canceling.
Exactly you can believe and support an alleged victim without having to send hate towards the alleged perpetrator unless they have been proven guilty.

Next thing they be the ones preaching about mental health, where sulli and goo hara's deaths not enough for kpop Stans
@prxncess xo Jimin tried to have a talk with mina, but mina refused
They think just because a random idol pops in their head then that means they can suspect them even if there’s no correlation between them and Mina and that’s just insane to me…
What caught my attention was Mina's choice of words. She seemed to know that implying that the guy is a celebrity would draw attention to her speech
nah it was mina kept changing her words. she first referred the abuser as a celebrity - to get more attention. days after she clarified he wasn't a celebrity, but rather a popular figure in the area she lived. there were a lot of pressure for her to drop the name of the supposed celebrity (esp from knetz), but he wasn't so mina resorted to change her words again lmao

I personally don't see anything wrong with using that narrative as the story for a video, but just wanted to get another perspective since I'm not familiar with the issue of cultural appropriation.

Say it louder for the people in the back👏🏼
Yikes. Your brother probably abused someone and now you're claiming false accusations. Less than 3% of victims are false accusations so yeah. Believe victims. If you side with an abuser then you're just as bad and part of the problem. Please like you are why 98% of assault cases are never prosecuted. Just disgusting
@@DollfaceLizkah she said her brother was falsely accused. Since when did she claim to be siding w an abuser 😟 If the truth has proven that the case is false, then u cant just keep blaming and tear down the so called 'abuser'. We're talking abt a different case here, like imagine being punished for something u didn't do shit about.
@@DollfaceLizkah mina stan spotted.
@@DollfaceLizkah You understood absolutely nothing from the original comment and it shows. I’m all for people coming out and releasing their stories, but people who falsely accuse others are JUST AS BAD as those who actually abuse people.

i was one of the few fans that didnt go by flew of cancellin jimin! ppl called me cold hearted back then for being logical. im damn proud of myself💅
i wish i was like you lol , because i wasn't a fan of the group before i didn't really know the members so i just went along with hating her... now I'm always staying neutral in these kinds of scandals
@@PRAYINGMANTIS. im realy happy for current you!💜
Bruhhhh, this feels... idk man. I noticed her main goal was to destroy jimin and the other members when she pushed it so hard over social media but i didn't expect her to be the villain
The moment she didn't stop even after she managed to ruin Jimin's career only means she wasn't in it for justice at all.
@@myouniverse0613 exactly. She was just jealous of other members and enjoyed destroying their lives
@@myouniverse0613 right
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can its not that, its the fact she went wayyy too far, lied about jimin not apologizing properly then whatever issues or drama she came up she blamed it on jimin
Edit: on top of that, she brought up the other members even though they genuinely had nothing to deal with it causing a bunch of hate to go to them. On top of THAT she couldn't even keep her story straight
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can go watch Ever glowup's breakdown of Mina. There's a lot you don't understand it seems. Mina wasn't a victim. She's been through a lot but it wasn't AOA'S fault
it's so sad that a great girl group and Jimin's career have been ruined by something like this...I hope all AOA members are doing well :/
T-ara and AOA are my favorite girl groups but my bad luck both cursed by bullying 😭.
I'm gonna drink some water for this one.
jimin went through all of this and stayed quiet most of the time she was getting so much hate imagine how hard it was for her she was leader she must have been blaming herself for letting things get this far
Exactly
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can Ah, yes, because people absolutely do not hate other people for dumb reasons. 🙄
you are absolutely right. we can definitely be supportive of the "victim" and be there for them and at the same time understand the situation in head and not get drawn to conclusions. both can be done which many not realise
Be supportive but don’t jump on the hate bandwagon might be the best way to go
rather accidentally support a victim than a bully. i wont hate on anyone till the proof comes out but i would side with the victim
The whole group need therapy and help, not bashing, Jimin doesn’t need bashing, SeolHyun doesn’t either, it’s obvious Mina has an on growing obsession with this and needs a lot of help
i remember getting called a bully supporter a couple of months ago when I said minas sob story is not adding up. people on the internet are sheep fr, getting scared over being called bully supporters if they don't speak up while simultaneously cyberbullying jimin and aoa, I'm glad dispatch opened everyone's eyes for once
i think it’s safe to say after this incident with jimin and mina, i’m not going to take a side immediately anymore. i think it’s best to wait for further information in order to make a clear judgement of incidents like these.
Amazing video ploopy I really loved watching this
I've been waiting for Ploopy's AOA analysis forever, I never believed Jimin was a bully.
28:00 They're saying a person is guilty until proven innocent? That actually quite dangerous.
yup its should be neutral until solid evidences
agree. imagine being punished for something u didnt do... yikes. toxic kpop stans are on another level of crazy
I feel so sad for Jimin :(
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can bro can u shut up
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can why ?
The real reason why this issue got so big was because it happened during lockdown, all of us were home, no school, no work. Just internet.
You guy are right. Mina was manipulative!!! Now let's attack her coz we Jimin fans love to do it.
@@athoibakhuraijam3002 ow its u again i guess u shouldn't divide jimin or mina fans as different people. They are the same set of people once batting from this side then from the other side. The people who likes to DIG and wants SPICE to see.
@@mimis.5139 No one is dividing Mina and Jimin fans. You chose to see it that way lol.
no hun, she's korean gabbie hanna and her fans exactly act like gabbie's 💀
@@alexblack4048 was this the one with the girl that pretended to be in a wheelchair?
I sincerely hope that Jimin is doing ok, this whole situation can give anyone depression.
I hope that we don't have to loose yet another idol because of this.
Someone should seriously take Mina to a psychiatrist or take her to rehab, she needs it. Who knows that after getting her lies exposed, she could possibly try to take her life again.
Something that no one seemed to catch was Chanmi posting pictures to her story of a holiday from the summer a few weeks ago - with Jimin.
Thank you for this comment.
This is seriously the best way to approach such situations!!
I think it's more complicated than just being like "We have to always believe victims" or "We shouldn't believe victims unless they have evidence".
this whole scandal has more turning points than my calculus homework lmao
You missed some important details :
1.About the SA situation she said she forgave the person who assaulted her bc he apologized...and that he's still a better person than Jimin.
2.She stole the man yeah because she KNEW he had a girlfriend, maybe you don't like the phrasing "stealing someone" but she's a nasty home wrecker. (And said lies on the girlfriend, saying that her father threatened her and suggested he was involved with the mafia but it's not true)
(The boyfriend, the ex also provided screenshots)
When Mina started to talk to the guy she knew about the girlfriend, she asked the guy about his girlfriend!!
@Catch_Me_If_You_Can I hope you won't mind if your bf/gf leaves you for someone else one day.
She missed so many good points. That's kind of disappointing, I will check over the channel that you suggested.

Everyone jumped down Jimins throat the moment info came out that she “bullied” Mina. It’s honestly disgusting the fact that everyone didn’t even give a chance for Jimin to prove her innocence. Shame on anyone who bandwagons, now people attack Mina…. Both should settle this in private (court)
I hope jimin is doing okay, i cant imagine what it’s been like for her
According to Jimin years later, Lee Hyori (a 1st gen legend) reached out to Jimin and gave her a safe place to stay at Lee Hyori's home until the controversy was over.

I feel like no one can know what happened, so the first person to speak is regarded as honest.
Luv u boo. I wouldn’t know anything going on with Kpop drama without u.
I feel for her, but also have an air of heavy caution.
psychologically, it's normal to feel sad and grief over the loss of a parent even if they're abusive.
Let's not forget about the ktuber Everglow-Up who was the first to comment on Mina's suspicious behaviour and got a lot of hate from Stan Twitter because of her video calling out Mina and her lies
