I’m always amazed how he made such varied descriptive music with just a guitar and a couple of instruments. I can’t listen to this without so many fond memories in front of the TV with my mother and late father, who used to come home from work in the lunch hour when I was small just to watch with me.

If it's any consolation music has been shown to reignite memories in those with dementia, so as long as you're able to listen to this video you'll never forget Trumpton. I'm 'only' 30 and feel the exact same way, fwiw. We were around before the internet and it was an entirely different era.
I'm in my early 20s and CBeebies now shows clangers When my friend brings his grandson round one day, I'm going to introduce him to the best! Bob the builder. Thomas the tank engine, fireman Sam (not the CGI shit though) and many more classics!

The world was a chaotic mess even back then, if you go back and read the contemporary newspapers, but as kids we weren't aware of it, and shows like this presented a sort of idyllic world to us.

They are being suffocated by so many layers of cotton wool, laid down in the guise of 'child protection' . These programmes take me back to far simpler, happier times.
I know when as kids went out on the streets with our friends and our parents weren't afraid of letting us out but now kids can't go out on Thier own now these days me and my friends always went out we all had a group of friends but it's not like that nowadays

I also sometimes listen to the Camberwick Green theme tune: it's funny how the very same tune seems joyful & optimistic when the character is appearing but sad & downbeat when he/she is descending back into the tin.
He probably did, then again the BBC didn't do the "Broom cupboard" gimmick with Phil Schofield till the early to mid 80's, the Trumpton trilogy came originally in the mid 60's.
