Years after the castle had rotten away…Bowser gone, but everyone else too.
All that was left is the music box, once tuned to the princesses favorite song, now, after everyones left, someone left it to play alone, for nobody, just to add spirit to what remains as a cold rotting castle. What once was bright memories, now just fading away, alongside the distant promise of cake.
The music box will stop playing one day, but, that day isn’t any day soon. It lives on.
Only Luigi is alive. He is old, a little crazy and lonely. He's tending to the castle all by himself. Watering Peach's favorite flowers, tidying Mario's personal items. Everyday he visits their graves behind the Eternal Star, shedding silent tears.

This is like what would play in a level where you have a giant sleeping enemy in the center, and you have to make it through the entire level without waking it up. Then if you did it'd just suddenly switch to the most fast paced "holy shit run!" music instantly.

It’s not really meant to be creepy, at least not as I see it. It’s generally a peaceful, though sorrowful song. The Mario 64 soundfont doesn’t really change that, either. Blissful, but maybe a little sad. Not really scary in my opinion.

I completely agree, when the community started adding crazy levels inspired by dreamcore or similar themes it stopped making sense to me, I loved the idea of original backrooms and the lore behind them.
I love the games "the backrooms 1998" and "The Complex: Found Footage" highly recommended
@@AbbeyWhatterhouse Yeah like, it's fine to add a few like "cosmical horror entities" that could rule over the Backrooms dimension in an lovecraftian-like manner, and maybe explain a bit the idea of different layers within said dimension of the Backrooms, but the problem is when they started oversaturating it with cheap and absurd entities and levels that seemed as if they were made either by a 10 year old kid or by an AI trained purely by imitating stock photos, like, they lacked spirit, sense, essence and uniqueness to them, it just simply became "take a photo of a random rusty and dusty bathroom or some halls full of old furniture and post it on the Backrooms page with a random scientific fictional explanation of how such "level" works, and there you go, new Backrooms level lol.

@@x_Foxy_ Bro, you just defined the backroom community by spitting truths, something that for me could have been the next FNAF on the Internet really fell into oblivion. I loved those "found footage" videos but I guess, like all fads, it died.
@@AbbeyWhatterhouse Yeah, although, sadly, FNAF has also fallen into that category of games and series that lost their soul and essence over the passing of the years.
Kane Pixel's series about the Backrooms(Found Footage) is "kinda dead" mainly because he's working on other projects, but I don't know if he was planning on coming back in a future to keep the series going from the point where it stopped or if he just let it die and went onto a next phase on his career, but if he kept making the Found Footage series I honestly believe he could revive part of the Backrooms lore and community, or at least the "serious" and "adult" part of said lore and community. It all just depends on what Kane Pixels decides to do(or if maybe another talented content creator decided to show up out of nowhere and make a Backrooms series/project of kinda similar qualkty as Found Footage, but this option seems extremely unprobable)
@@x_Foxy_ FNAF had the misfortune that the same community that created the lore was the one that ended up ruining it, the movie is not that bad but it is completely different from the original idea that created the community, the movie was maintained thanks to Matthew Lillard being the man purple, oops spoiler xD
This video nearly drove me to tears twice. The SM64 soundfont makes it feel extra dreamy and while the original melody was never a huge part of my childhood, it has really grown on me over the years. It always seemed to embody some sweet, happy ending personally. Beautiful.

This is a really good interpretation actually lol!! The dynamics are all there, really good rubato, and the ornaments/runs are on point which is sooooo important for chopin. Nice job!! You should do more of these, if I could recommend a piece I think Ravel’s ‘pavane for a dead princess’ would sound really wonderful in the M64 sound font

Actually it is an old tradition of old Saxon kings in Britain (Peach appears to be from Anglo-Saxon ancestry). They would convert in the eyes of the public but at the same time would also maintain pagan altars inside their castles. Venerable Bede noticed this pattern in early Christian Britain and would describe such old gods as "Demons".

This is genuinely my favorite piano piece of all time, and seeing it combined with not only a liminal space image - but a liminal space image based off of one of my favorite Mario games of all time is amazing to me.

*After escaping that very weird and quite gory version of my brother, l ended up at a brick wall with a sign on it that said condemned but with the words you are written on the top, which I would say were written in pasta sauce, but that would just be me trying to make this whole situation easier on myself. But then I suddenly heard peach’s voice, which was definitely quite the relief in this weird nightmare-scape I somehow found myself in and when I looked, she was right there! And she was standing on a pipe! I was very relieved to see my dear princess again! Until she started flickering and suddenly changed into a weird black-eyed grayscale version of herself with a face that still looked like hers but was creepily twisted to look like one of those masks that I had to run from whenever I got that key in that dream with that frog king named wart. And quickly after changing she let out one of the most psychotic witch-like cackles I’ve ever heard and slipped down the pipe!*
*I don’t know what else this weird nightmare world has in store for me, but if I ever wake up from this, rest assured.*
