Spider-Man: Dream or Nightmare?

- Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a very strange book. Written by Taboo and B. Earl with art from the terrific Juan Ferreyra, this comic had been in my mind for a long time. Both in a good way, and a not-so-good way. All of which will be discussed in the video!
Outside of the video itself, I'm sorry it took so long. My access to Sony Vegas was taken away, so I had to switch over to DaVinci Resolve which is... a LOT better actually! Like, a LOT lot better! Weird to figure out, but we're making it work.
ALSO! Happy October! This video was actually supposed to be out MONTHS ago, but life/laziness got in the way, so... SPOOKY VIDEO ACCIDENTALLY LANDS ON SPOOKY MONTH! Enjoy! And I'll hopefully have another video out soon! I got a real special one for next month if I can get it out on time!

I honestly forgot about this spiderman issue
LMAO! Fair enough tbh
I dug this miniseries. Honestly, I never expected evil Peter from this (I thought it was just a horror themed Spidey book).
There was something about the writing that didn't quite feel like Peter at times (like you said, just didn't have whatever that *something* is), but I will take anything with Peter that is, at least, trying to do something kind of different. Also like you said, it only ever gets right up to the edge but doesn't fully land.
Where I had dropped ASM a while back, and until Hickman's USM started up, I was itching for any books doing *something* interesting with Peter.
The art definitely does a ton of work to lift the book. I will always take an interesting piece of art that doesn't fully achieve its goals over something blandly safe, every day.
On that, we can fully agree! While this book isn't particularly great, it at least has so many interesting concepts and ideas going on, unlike modern ASM. I just hope that one day, we can get a story that's able to go further and be something truly unique.
