This might sound redundant but a glimpse into these betas really makes it evident how our favorite games released in one specific year we associate em with were in development for far longer than that, BW in the yeae 2009 just sounds so cursed
Yeah, I think that's understandable. 2009 is weird, but have you considered 2008? The earliest revisions of the game are from the tail end of '08, though they are the literal definition of "prototype".

It's interesting seeing it in it's original context. 37:23 - I imagine the devs made the initial mistake because they drive on the left in Japan and initially seemed to make the traffic with Japanese roads in mind, rather than American ones.
Yeah, pretty much. I think the unused map is slightly different with the plinth layout, though. Only reason I can imagine such an old duplicate would exist is perhaps they were planning to switch which version of the map is loaded after Plasma ransack the place for the Dragon Skull? Just speculation, though.
Ive played the super early bw betas from early 2009 where the only town was Accumula town and you're playing as lucas instead of early hilbert like in this build.
If i remember correctly it was a windmill of sorts there in the final game Also yes if i recall correctly the rocks are the object of the buildings that aren't loaded since the player didn't go through a loading zone
Sure, that'll likely happen too. Next up will probably be looking at that super early Black build since that's pretty interesting but a lot (and I mean a lot) smaller. The 3DS ones might be hit or miss since the older builds seem to be a little unstable and there are a few other issues where I'm not sure if it's emulation quirks or something else. I'll see what I can do, though.

The menus? Title Screen debug is with Select, while in-game is R + X.
