H e l l yeah!
Oh boy Rob! That is a nice guitar. Do you know where I could acquire it?
LETS GOOO
Oh lord this makes me miss being on the road with you so bad. I heard this song from so many green rooms in so many weird places hanging out with so many cool people. I miss you lots.
Hopefully one day we can see Hank Green and the Perfect Strangers again!!
😭
Wow the vlog brothers and rob, I never grouped those together in my head but it kinda makes sense now
@@leek6927 Rob’s merch is from DFTBA...
Woah what, two, (what I thought were) distinct, parts of my world collide lol.
I'd love to see the vlogbrothers jam w/ Rob. Time to do some Googlin'
He's washing all his hats.. Thats why he's not wearing any
Hopefully he washes his hair before putting one back on.
@@SophiaAphrodite hey, the pandemic is a rough time for all of us. It is easy to lose spirit. I hope you are doing okay
His hair is his hat
I never knew how important triplets with a shaker would be until they happened.
It happened the moment I read this.
Omg I'm so glad someone else noticed
@@aaaponte0613 the drum work in this is phenomenal, their both really great musician
Immaculate vibes. Really gives off that "clean" sounds in more ways than one
Yeah it's so beautiful
One thing! Just one thing! Please tell IT to me: WHY tf do I have so many fans even though no UA-camr is unprettier than I am? WORLDWIDE!!!! WHY??? Tell me, dear kaz
@@AxxLAfriku what
@@22222Sandman22222 he goes around commenting this shit. He just wants attention by acting out. Super weird guy.
For real. Also, that's the freshest laundromat I've ever seen
We missed you rob. Glad you’re back
Thank you! It’s good to be back!
I found it really tough to make much of any UA-cam videos during 2020 but I’m ready to get back into the swing of things now I think. I appreciate you all thanks again
Math Rock in inappropriate places
A hard-core venue comes to mind
in college math classes
@@awesomeyoutubehandlewowitslong YESS I was gonna say in math class 😂
Rush had a stage setup that was washing machines
Rob must do this.
At first I thought the washing machines are a bluescreen effect, but then I realized-
I LOVE this version of Anchor! Jessica did amazing on percussion, I like the shaker triplets. Epic! Thank you for this video, Rob!
how did you get to listen to this a day ago? not fair >:(
@@hollow3951 yes, I also think about this!!!
@@hollow3951 Patreon perk.
Watch his video on this on his second channel :)
@@boombozling2633 Just watched it! So I wasn't 100% wrong about it being an effect.
Y’know Rob? I’ve been have a really crap 6 months. I’ve been loosing sleep, and I’ve been stressing out more than a soon to be 19 year old should. But, you released this at the perfect time. Thank you to everyone who made this. Because I really needed this and didn’t even realize it.
Hang in there dude ! :)
I hope you're doing better now
Hey man, I hope you’re having a nice day. Just know you’ve always got people in your life to support you.
Life can take a bad turn at any age, but a good turn can take you by surprise too! Hang in there mate- better times are ahead. Take it one day at a time.
Jessica's drumming is so on point! matches the song perfectly
I just realized I went to high school with Jessica. Her brother was in my grade. I've seen other videos with her and it just now clicked. The world is impossibly small. Anyway great work you two.
Love that aesthetic of wash spinning in the background. It's like action through inaction, wallpaper in motion.
I used to listen to Anchor almost every day that first time you posted it, still remember you sitting on top of that laundry machine. I love it very much and it makes me calm and happy whenever I have a bad day. I have the melody memorized and it stuck in my brain for many years... this video really brings me back that early days of me watching you Rob Scallon! So nostalgic
🙏🙏🙏
I love how this is an upgrade in multiple ways to the original: many more washing machines, signature 8 string, and added drums. Awesome job!
The Video production quality is also top tier
Worth the wait!! Nice work 👏
The smile on her face makes me love it even more. I love this song
What! That is so good!
The drums really add to the song and the video just looks dope and fits the vibe
I remember Rob saying that he forgets his songs pretty quickly, specifically Anchor. I wonder, how long it took to remember it all.
Every time a solo artist adds a drummer, I always feel like the drummer overdoes the crashiness and makes it more about themselves. This is perfect, Jessica read the lows and the highs of this song perfectly. Hats off!
ANCHOR V2!!!!!!! WITH SO MANY MORE LAUNDRY MACHINES!!!!!!!! AND SWEET DRUMS AND ROB'S OWN SIGNATURE GUITAR!!!!!!! THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF PROGRESS I THINK IM GONNA CRY!!!!
Jess's smile at the end!!! Yes!!! Amazing rendition of your song brother!! And could not have picked a better percussionist!! Two amazing musicians!! Makes me so happy!! God bless you both!! Both of you, never quit writing, keep going, especially when it gets hard!! Never stop, keep the drive, and ride it until the bitter end!! Thank you for this, and all that you both do!! It doesnt go unnoticed!!
the dynamics make this a totally new song.
The word serenity comes to mind when I hear this.
I love the reference to the original video with all the laundromat. Very chill vibes
jessica can play along to any of your songs so well.
This is EASILY one of the greatest duo's ever
I've been through a rough day. I'm laying down on my bed, feeling useless and hopeless. But this song brings sooo much confort It makes me feel like i'm home. Thanks Rob, keep up that awesomness.
def one of my favorite instrumental tracks i've heard in a long time
That little quiet section when the shaker comes in is total chills 🤤
What?
Anchor is evolving!
Absolutely beautiful version. Well done to everybody involved. Also, what an amazingly beautiful Laundromat. And what a weird sentence that is.
UA-cam: 6 comments
Me: Can i see them?
UA-cam: no.
that soundstudio + this ,,new" guitar + the blue shaker = anchor³
aspiring musician here
your music is my number 1 inspiration and this is exactly how i want my sound to be like, anchor is seriously one of the best songs ive ever heard and hearing it with drums was like hearing what i imagine my next band to sound like. keep it up rob, im going to be your fan for the rest of my life.
My 13 year old son started playing guitar 8 months ago, he loves your guitar work.....he sat down tonight and played this song on my Strat. He’s working hard to get this right.....thanks for inspiring my son to play.
I remembered when I stumbled on this channel anchor was one of the first songs and I was like this is music to my ears so for this to be remade is awesome.
The color palette in this video is so pleasing. Nice tune. Midwest Emo Vibes
Man I could never be in a music video. The director would be like "look anywhere but at the camera" and I just wouldn't be able to not look at the camera
Man this is a song i used to listen to a long time back when i was a teen now i’m an adult smiling in nostalgia :)
MAN what a hell of an early birthday present this is! Jessica's drums make this tune slap harder than it already did, amazing work!
Loving the cleanliness and drum mix. Good vibes right hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I don't think enough people are appreciating the spinning over head shot of Jessica that was sick
I just wanted to state, that scene happened as soon as I read this so..I love you.
That lighting in the laundromat was perfect and the recording mix is immaculate, nice work!
Beautiful. Just so beautiful. *goosebumps*
i wonder how many times Rob accidentally smacked the washing machine with his guitar
Finally, a music I can listen to while doing my laundry!
I cannot express how much love I have for the aesthetic but especially of all that, the cable, my god thats precious
One of the best math rock song I have listened in the last months!
So aesthetically pleasing visually and the song is great.
What a well designed washing machine, with eight cycles, dynamic spinning, too!
All these quarters man, gives me shivers ! Great piece of music by you guys !
The harmonics in the beginning are so crazy and beautiful
Yes!! Old times Back!!!!
The video work in this video is just straight gorgeous loved all the creative angles and focus and unfocus so beautiful! ❤️😍
Now, this is a CLEAN sound !
The dynamics in this song are top notch
This is simply immaculate. Welcome back mate, much love!
The shaker was low-key my favorite addition, that was incredible!
That shaker was the move
Aaaaand suddenly I am back in to the laundry room thanks to Pete and a little bit to Kurt !! Best 8 string song out there !! Nicely done Rob !!
The color palette looks wonderful!!!!
As great as the first time I heard it, Rob makes some truly beautiful music
The original is one of my favorites out of your originals, and the evolution of your playing is really fantastic to see. Also, that's a hell of a drummer you've got there.
I love you, Rob, you're music makes me feel safe
I love this! Rob is amazing as always... But Jessica really earned a new fan before I was half way through the video. Unlimited talent between you two!
Thank you rob and jessica💙 i needed this
This is seriously one of my favorite songs.
the clothes, the scenery, white stripes vibe. music chill AF.
Man this is so cool im so glad youre back man i missed your music so much
Ludwig and Zildjian...Jess is rockin’ the kit I used to play except mine was clear red acrylic.
Honestly hatless rob is a good look, as iconic as the hat is
This is so cool! The visuals are awesome I love the limited color palette it's so eye catching :o (also tracking those tv screens must have been a nightmare)
JBurds kills it. This such a refreshing update to Anchor
I love the reference to the washing machine from the original. The video is just masterfully filmed as a whole. Not to mention this is one of my favorite songs from you. Amazing
Damn, what a great location to film, the lighting in there is so good.
That snare tho. so sick
The production is so clean and the playing matches the video so much that I can't tell if the audio was recorded earlier than the video. And I can't imagine playing drums in a leather jacket. Sound really good.
Good to see you reviving this song. Adding the drums definitely breathes some more life and amplifies how amazing this song is.
that was some very warm emo for the summer
Ohh i love to see this song again. Greetings from the Philippines 🤘
Those harmonics are simply beautiful the melodic Syncopated melody along with the Muted guitar is great:
So happy to see you're back.
this song never fails to give me chills
I'm glad I was here for this one. Such a special edition to a timeless favorite. Thank you
Snare sounds awesome.
2:43 That was SOOO cool
Now all we have to do is make this a Lo-Fi song and but an anime dude studying at a La Lavandaria studying for his college math class.
Omfg this is soooo good, glad you’re back rob!!
Fabulous peace of work...some slick Peno fretless would be the icing on the cake 🎂
I have this, along with Rain, and your collab videos with Stef Lynn from last year in a playlist on Spotify. It's my go-to music in the middle of the night when I cannot fall asleep!
Production quality is top-notch. Great job to Rob and the whole team on this one!
I LOVE this Music WOW
I like how he’s absolutely drenched in sweat the entire video
I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT!
That's gorgeous man
You guys are amazing!
This is what they should use for your artist's exhibit at the MIM.
that snare sounds great
The drums make this song sound so fun, listening to it brought me back to when I first listened to anchor, thank you for putting a smile on my face :)
Thanks for sharing, lovin it. You both remind me of Victor Wooten 2.0. Don't get me wrong, Mr. Wooten is really talented, and there is a lot I've learned from him. But he sometimes uses his techniques simply to showcase the techniques, and for me that is often times not pleasing to listen to, because it sounds like a montage of different techniques stringed together really impressively, but lacking context, and to me just coming across as noise. You though have really versatile and interesting techniques that you blend in, give space, and let breath; they have context. You play them to enhance your music, and give it flavor. Talent is the knowledge of how to use different techniques. Art is the knowledge of when to use a specific technique. You take music & elevate it to an art form. Rock on you two!
Totally pro, from the playing to the mix to the vid. Well done all.
I absolutely love this song by Robsc Allon!
