God has taught me in 2020 what it truly means to wait on His timing. Before I was like " Lord I am going this way please come" now I ask Him to direct every step. Had to learn that the hard way. 😏

Praise the Lord for your ministry, sis. So happy to see how He's been leading you this past year! I too had quite a few breakthroughs in 2020 (graduated with a Master's in Public Health degree, have grown in my relationship with Christ, and overall am the most content I've ever been!). God is soo good. All the best with your/HIS plans. God bless!

This was a blessing, it is amazing the work God does in the life of his children. 2020 was the year God restored my marriage. He begun to heal childhood trauma as well as shed light into areas of my life that needed healing. Thank you for the encouragement. Blessings sister

Something that i learnt in 2020 is that God is awesome and he has everything under control. Though at times the situation may seem topsy turvy God is leading and he will work all things to ensure his children are just fine!

I'm so happy you're back and I can't wait for more videos 😊.
One of the biggest lessons I've learnt from last year (through a bad breakup) is that sometimes God chooses to answer our prayers in ways that we never imagined He would. But we must always remember that even His NO comes with blessings.
Also, I learned the joy and fulfilment that comes with working for God after I attended a mission trip.

Hi, you mentioned in an earlier video how you don’t wear jewellery since we should not make ourselves look prettier. But What about styling your hair (updo, hairband or simply curly style) making it look groomed, is that the same? :)

    • @vonee.monique
      @vonee.monique  2 роки тому

Hi there! I know I'm late, I'm just coming back to the channel! It's not necessarily about not being "prettier" but not seeking to be completely vain by making it all about how "beautiful" I am -- glorifying myself (Philippians 2:3). For example jewelry serves no practical purpose (at least not for me) and the main purpose would ONLY be to glorify and decorate myself. Extra "nothings" for looks ALONE.
As Christians we should look nice to represent God well; He is the Creator of the beautiful and loves beauty and neatness! Looking nice is great, but of course balanced with Christian humility and simplicity! The Bible speaks of Lucifer/Satan and how he fell - because he became proud of his beauty and more (Ezekiel 28)! He had all the precious jewels too. So though God made jewels, He also gave Christians counsel on dressing humbly and focusing on the inside (i believe this helps us not to become proud like Lucifer/Satan did since we are fallen beings)
I believe our hair should be styled neatly and nicely; headbands serve a purpose yet can be either simple or excessively extravagant -- it's up to us to choose what kind of headband (or shirt, or skirt/pants/dress, or hat, etc.) we will wear. Pretty and simple, or flashing and attention grabbing?
So it's not bad for me to choose to wear my hair up rather than down because I think it looks better or more flattering or "prettier" on me; but it wouldn't be of Christian principle to choose a style that's overtly flashy and gaudy that I know will have heads turning! Pretty can be simple! That's my aim - simplicity and humility (which is a part of the definition of modesty)!
I look at verses like 1 Timothy 2:9,10 and 1 Peter 3:3,4 as guiding principles and I consider how I think Jesus would dress and how he did when He was on Earth! Let God lead you; He knows your heart and will guide you to what pleases Him. This is what He has shown me thus far on my journey! :)

*RE: Update: CHANGE, EXTREMES, BALANCE& GROWTH!*
    Hello Vonée,
I hope this message finds you.
I first came across your videos a long while back and binge-watched a number of them. Your content was such a blessing that it seemed to have left an indelible impression on me-so much so that even after several years, I was still able to remember them.
This might seem ironic, being that I'm a guy who found interest in a channel seemingly geared toward a female audience. What appealed to me was your take on modesty, together with your sense of style, and the fact that you strike me as a sweet, gentle soul with a gracefully feminine spirit. Oh, and did I mention a pretty face without makeup? (Forgive me; I don't mean to be flattering, especially now that you're seeing someone-I'm just being honest.) Most importantly, I appreciated that you were a Christian lady willing to let your light shine before others (using a platform like UA-cam) for the glory of God. May the Lord bless you for doing that.
Now, as to how I end up revisiting your channel years later in 2021, that's an interesting story. I was watching a recent vlog of a young lady who's fairly new in her Christian walk. She appears to have learned a lot so fast. However, in the vlog, she asked her viewers if they could give her any ideas on how to dress modestly in a public gym (demure sportswear, if you will). I thought of you.
Finding you was no simple task since I wasn't a subscriber or couldn't recall the name of your channel. Eventually though, after numerous inquiries, I succeeded-only to soon be disappointed with the results (most of your modesty videos were taken down 😢 ). Upon discovering that the videos were missing, the least I could do for relief was to try remembering them, particularly the one(s) on running and swimming attire. I was really looking forward to sharing your tips with her.
That's when I watched your 49-minute video, and then it all made sense. Although I am a man and don't subscribe to Seven Day Adventist teachings, your story is quite relatable. In fact, it's been said that a Christian is liable to undergo a "legalistic phase." I guess that's a tendency we must learn to harness when it comes to finding balance in grace. (Titus 2 : 11-14) So, as I'm sure you now know, this experience, as painfully unpleasant as it was, is not necessarily something to be ashamed of. Rather, it was an opportunity to grow closer to and richer in Christ. This faith journey that we're called to is first and foremost an individual walk, which means each must bear his own cross. And so it is imperative that we endure such challenges if it means abiding more in the perfect will of God.
Getting the gist of your story, I felt to include the following quotes. Hopefully, they're encouraging.
_"Because, I would rather be wrong in my doctrine, and right in my heart, than to be right in my doctrine, and wrong in my heart...after all, it’s your heart’s condition.”_
_"I’d rather be wrong in my doctrine and right in my heart. God will respect it more."_
    _-Rev. William Marrion Branham_
Whatever the journey holds from here on out, I pray that the Lord accompanies you every step of the way. Keep the faith, sister.
    God bless you.
    Sincerely,
    James
P.S. Congratulations on your courtship and the new job!
