I'm going to try your recipe! I had that issue also with getting that first jar out. Some suggested using a spare ring under one of the wide mouth Jars, It works great 🙂
I hope you love it! I have done the spare ring as well, and it does indeed work. In fact, I'm canning something right now and have a ring under one jar. Putting in one regular mouth jar also worked well, but I don't tend to use regular mouth jars. I wish the pot was just a tiny bit larger to make it easier to get the jars out!
I would also like a stainless steel pot, because then I'd be more likely to use it as a cooker instead of just a canner. I do use it some for cooking, but prefer to cook in stainless steel.
@@StockingMyPantry Also agree, lol I have never use mine for cooking, only canning for that reason. I have a Power Pressure Cooker XL, 8 quart that I ordered a stainless steel Insta Pot insert for, it fits great, I cook in one, can in the other..
Hi Rebecca! I had commented earlier about needing to unbox my electric pressure canners, Nesco and instant pot max. Well, I unboxed from Max this morning. It didn’t fit in the cabinet I had planned to put it in so I put it on a cart for now. I’ll probably place it on the kitchen bar when I actually use it. Now I’ve got to see if my Nesco will fit in another cabinet. I’ll be doing some rearranging to put the Nesco in the kitchen. If it won’t fit in a cabinet I might have to put it in my craft room. 😂
@@StockingMyPantry I guess I could! Ive been decluttering for about 6 weeks and have the room to do it. I love kitchen gadgets and appliances too much so I have trouble with the kitchen. I still have a Ninja speedi that’s still in the box.😳
@@rhodasmith2195 you are a woman after my own heart! I currently have a Presto digital canner sitting in the box. However, I've left it in the box because I'm not sure I want to keep it. I have a video about that coming up sometime in the future. Thankfully, I bought it through Walmart and have 90 days to return it, so I don't have to be in a huge hurry to decide.
@@StockingMyPantry I’ve got an electric kettle that needs unboxed too. I bought it after seeing someone using it for canning. I’ll get back to my kitchen organizing eventually. I ordered Wevac vacuum storage bags and they came yesterday. I keep finding more to do!😀
I made these yesterday. The beans absorbed more liquid then I expected so a few beans are sticking edges above the liquid after canning (is that an issue?). I made your version and ordered the book. Thank you!
I'll look forward to hearing how you like them! What you described is fine. It's possible what is above the liquid will discolor, but that won't hurt it. I would eat the ones that have that the most like that first, but again, as long as they stay sealed, they'll be fine.
@@StockingMyPantry we got this bunch at farmers market. We had hail and had to replant our beans and tomatoes. Tonight for dinner we also had strawberry lemonade slushies blended with ice. So refreshing!
Sorry to hear about the hail. I have to buy mine as well. We don't have much growing space, so I mostly buy the food that I can. It's still delicious, though! I'm glad you enjoyed the strawberry lemonade slushies. People who don't can don't know what they're missing! We just ate some nectarines that I recently canned. So good! I'm going to keep an eye out for more on sale, because we're going to go through the ones I already canned in no time!

Thank you for demonstrating the book version and your own version. It's very helpful to keep the seasoning consistent between jars. 👍🏻👍🏻
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching and commenting.
You have inspired me. I've been freezing my green bean harvest. But I need alternatives. This looks like a winner.
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy them. We think they are great!
Your video helps so much. Thank you

Rhoda, congrats on finding a home for your IP Max! I hope you find a good home for your Nesco, too! And why not can in your craft room?! :)

The work never ends, for sure! But I think we'll all be happy that we have put food away.

We had them for dinner and my husband loved them. We are making more tomorrow. I love the lemony flavor.
So glad to hear that! We also love them. The lemon flavor is the best! Did you grow your green beans?
