Nets won this trade hands down. They got more shooters, a bigger body and best rebounder in the league AND a 6’11 25yr old PG who runs the break like a bull with great court vision and can defend/rebound at any position.

I just have no idea what the Mavs are doing. They also give up a 2022 2nd round pick.
Although KP is a bad contract, Dinwiddie and Bertans are significantly worse contracts than KP. I agree with Joel that Mavs can win without KP, but both Dinwiddie and Bertans are not good defenders, at least KP will not be a liability for the Mavs in defense. But how can you insert Bertans + Dinwiddie (not that bad maybe) into this lineup to keep their defense in great shape??
Yes, Diwinddie is a ball-handler that might bounce back, but he was never an efficient scorer throughout his career, I don't think it will work out. Yes, Bertans is a good shooter who has a down year, maybe he can bounce back, but at best he can only be a great spacing big who can't do anything else defensively.
This is a WTF non-gradable move for the Mavs, don't get me wrong, they can still win a playoff series after this trade. But even with that, trading KP for two more lengthy contracts, two worse players, is just ... Bruh, I am speechless right now. Good luck J Kidd.

It’s not that kings fans didn’t want him.. we wanted/needed someone like him bad. But Tyrese was a fan favorite he was always helping out in the community so we were mad that Tyrese was traded not mad that we traded for Sabonis. Sabonis got the biggest welcome from Kings fans the first time he walked out of the tunnel at Golden 1 center
“Fox and Sabonis are not going to get better.” Fox age 24. Sabonis age 25. U guys gotta stop just saying dum shit like this. Both of these guys have never played with another all star until now. In Fox all 4 seasons, he’s gotten DRAMATICALLY better each and every season besides this one. Went from 10 points a game to 25 points and 7 assist last season. And the reason he took a step back was because Halliburton’s emergence as the main playmaker taking the ball from Fox hands but also Sac had to draft Davion. All these 3 guys play the same position and all get over 25 minutes a game. Of course it’s gonna affect Fox. In the 2 games already without Hali , Fox is averaging 28 points a game. Fox can hound the ball now more. Fox is a rhythm player. He needs the ball in his hands to be effective. And Even if u believe KAT/Edwards is better, Sac has guys like Barnes/Davion/Holmes to make up the talent difference (if any). Sabonis is the truth. I’m a come back to this comment
You have to depend on Fox developing a 3 point shot, looking at his history, he's not a good shooter. Sabonis isn't a great shooter either. Fox has to at least shoot 35% from the 3 for them to be really successful. They also are not good defenders. Quicker guys burn Sabonis and stronger guys burn Fox.
@@bay231 I see exactly what you’re saying. But Fox is already at 33% now in a bad season. He’s shot 37% from 3 in a season already before. So clearly he’s not a Westbrook or a Simmons. Fox is not shy of attempting them. It’s just a matter of being consistent. And by no means do I think Fox will be an elite shooter ever.But he already has a really good mid range and it’s not far fetch for him to even finish this season shooting 36%. So saying he will never get better and he is what he is at age 23-24 is foolish. He also the fastest player in the nba so him being an okay defender is not far fetched either. I watched the Kings/Wolves game and Fox was a pest defensively. I wonder if it’s just a mentality thing with him. He probably felt really down watching a Sac draft 2 point guards for 2 years in a row when he’s supposed to be the main guy.
@@ralph7781 I'm not saying Fox can't improve. He only shot 37% from 3 one year. For all we know, that was an anomaly. I am a Pacers fan and Sabonis is not good at defense. Put him against any person that is quicker than him and you're asking for trouble. He even had a proven shot blocker behind and now you're expecting him to be a better defender overnight? Fox has alot to prove on his max contract. The team will be dependent on how Fox will shoot from outside.

The disrespect on Harrison Barnes. Y’all comparing him to Tobias? As a fan of both the Sixers and the Kings, let me tell u from my perspective of watching 85% of both their games for the past 17 years. Barnes mops the floor with Tobias. Barnes the better shooter, slasher, playmaker, rebounder. Barnes can create his own shot. Barnes is the better defender for sure! I’m trying to think of something that Tobias does better. Barnes is also the better defender. I’m what world would anyone pick Tobias over Barnes? There’s a reason the past 2 deadlines, Barnes has garnered so much trade interest. He’s just the perfect wing veteran player on a playoff team. Barnes is literally above average in every single category. He can do a little bit of everything and really well. Walk this back Joel

Also the Harden good teamate point is inaccurate (albeit subjective). The are many interviews and statements made from former teamates that express their love and respect for him. Also CP3 is definitely a good leader but has notoriously been known for butting heads with other players and being difficult with players who weren't young guys he could be the ol head for.
Harden was getting cooked by Nets fans for averaging 23 8 and 10 so if Ben doesn't play well when KD and Kyrie are out. The New York fans are going to eat him up
