Just got done downloading and testing these mods. LOVE THEM. I despise it when a studio has a "vision" of how YOU should be playing their open-ended survival game. Let me play the way I want and enjoy it. Don't force me into the desert or the snow biome or the burnt biome simply because you assume I will get more enjoyment out of seeing all that diverse content. I don't like the snow biome. It's cold. I am old. Get off my lawn. Let me play the way I enjoy. The sad part is that these mods should all be options in the base game. That being said, thank you Phys1csGamez for making these.

It's a real eye opener seeing those really huge cities i never get tired of seeing it great job!
It certainly makes a difference to the game being able to control the size of those cities. Sometimes I am up for smaller ones.... sometimes you just wanna party with some big ones!

The major change to this came in A21 where it was reduced significantly. I have heard people see some problems in v1. I might boot up the previous versions and do a comparison as part of the next video.
This amazing. You got one of the rarest reactions from me when I saw the huge cities - I actually exclaimed "Motherf%^&*%!" out loud. I can't WAIT to give this a try! Loved your world gen mods in A21, but if it's possible, this could be even better :)

Someone needs to make a mod that requires you to carry and reload mags for the guns and the better quality mag the more ammo they hold and faster they reload. That's one thing about dayz I really like, adds to the realism imo

Yes farm the work out those who are already working a full time job and do this in their spare time... Sounds cost effective and a smart business move to me.
Thank you for this! I kept on generating a map hoping it would give me a big city on other biomes. I didn't know they changed it so you only get them in the wastelands. You are a godsend!
Yes it surprised me when I first generated a map. Options are needed and too much has been sacrificed to keep map generation times low. Let's make mapping great again.

Yes cities are very important. You need bigger ones sometimes. That what the mod helps you achieve. Everything up to massive ones.

Niice. Looking for a way to eliminate certain biomes with no luck yet. Most of the other biomes are just unpleasant to look at. Forest, Desert and maybe Snow are the only ones I like :)
I am sure we can work it out. Yet that would then take out the standard progression so you would have to move back to standard random trader placement.
I would also be interested in the same thing. I am not much of a fan of Wasteland and Burnt Forest for purely aesthetic reasons. Too dark and gloomy, it's visually unattractive.
How about though a mod to change the look of the biomes to something a little more interesting? Hmm I wonder what is possible?
@@Phys1csGamez Yeah i've already sorted progression "forest" all my traders spawn in the forest so the trader progression is intact.
I'm with the OP. I used to generate worlds without the Wasteland. I'd be very happy with random traders, especially if it means I can generate maps without Wasteland and Burnt Forest. Please make that mod, thanks. 🙏🏻 Subscribed for updates.

meany thanks for your work, i hate been rail roaded and prefer going at my own pace. i hate burnt forest and the waistland, i have no problem doing a run into them, will never build their. other than that 'm enjoying the update.
I am working behind the scenes on some nice maps that will have plenty of traders scattered about the place for some relaxed gaming. Watch this space :)

All sizes are good. But those big ones make game time that bit more involved.
Was defiantly hoping for these mods, Thx. Question about mod install though, you show to put the mods in the user "appdata" but mine are in the mods folder in the games root directory. there was a mods folder already there, the mods that I have installed in that folder all work fine so I am confused on where they should actually go. clarification would be greatly appreciated
Thank you for subscribing and trying out the mods. You can still install the mods is both places. TFPs made it very clear when A21 came out that the appdata route for mod placement was required for future proofing as this was only only place you could eventually put mods, something to do with requirements by the Windows operating system. So this is the only way I describe how to do it to future proof my content. Yet, yes, the Mods folder they have included with this release that includes one of their own server mods still does work.

Nice we can have cities of all sizes in every biome again. I had to do some manual biome editing to get those big cities out of the wasteland (start by making a map with max wasteland size in the middle and after that take the Biome file of another map and switch it)
When using roadside traders do the traders spawn only on the roadside or in the cities as well?
I can only be honest and say I haven't played with a roadside trader map to find out. When I was flying through the map I am sure I saw both. Also a friend said they found a roadside trader in one of the pregen maps whilst having traders in cities.

Make The Forest Great Again
Hi! I'm so happy to see you back! Question! The Jen in forest mod. I know it doesn't work with already generated maps. When I do use a pregen map do I need to remove this mod then before?
And you probably can't do this but if any modders are seeing this I wish someone would make a loot everything. There's a mod but its super temperamental and has to be loaded last but even then it won't work with a ton of mods I use. For some reason it takes all the crafting away. There was a mod for looting pallets and ammo crates in tbe last alpha but it never hit updated. It worked with everything! Hoping they or someone updates it 🙏
You will need to remove the Forest Jen mod when playing a map not generated with it as it changes the progression route to fit the new trader positions. As for the loot everything mod.... that is the one where you can loot solar panels and other random items!? Totally possible it is just a lot of xml work to set what loot for every items. In this version I think your level dictates the loot too so there may be lots of extra xml to sort there too. If someone does not sort it I can try one day. It will have to be at the bottom of my very long mod list though.

When you play with the larger maps do the traders give quests to the additional POI's?
The traders give out quests to any POI labelled as questable, within their ruleset. If you have more POIs around a trader more are available. Yet the current problem would be that the number of traders are now limited in the exp version of the game. A simple thing to mod. I just haven't got round to it yet and it is on my list.

Can you show us how to mod xml to cause specific POIs to show up more often or less often on a random gen map?
Sure. I have been wanting to do an a XML video. Someone maybe over the summer. Added to the list. If you need help sooner then discord is the place to find us.
So can these mods be removed after generating the map or do you need to keep it on the client, for example. if i generated a map upload it to my server, do all clients need the mod(s)?
The only mod from this video that you need to keep with the map is the Forest Jen. That particular mod changes the progression route in the xml so it all works. All the other mods are just for the generation phase.

The third person to ask. I hopefully will be adding a short piece about this in this weekend video. After the A21 code changes. The answer is not a great deal whatever size the map or city.

I can. It is just a heck of a lot of work with Teragon which I can do in a few weeks when I hit the summer holiday period. So hang tight. I am planning a lot of maps with all the mods covered too.
super new to the game, awesome mods, unforutnately my game doest let me choose the biome layout, the option just isnt there and id like to make the forrest at the center like you did. is there any fix for this?
Are you playing the latest experimental version? If you are playing the standard install then you are still playing with A21 which does not do the centre forest biome maps.

You only need the mods to generate the maps. The only difference is with Forest Jen mod. This is needed by all players or just the server if you are setting one up. This mod has to change game code to get the trade progression right. Give it about a week or two and the game should update to version 1 from alpha 21 rather than you have to opt into the latest experimental.
Are these mods compatible with Dedicated Servers map generation
They all are only needed for the map generation. Only the Forest Jen mod will need to be on the server and is server side only as that changes the progression through changes in the XML.
This is dope, but how is the FPS in the huge city's? does it drop a lot?
That really depends on your PC. I usually reduce the load distance to 500m in the city. I bumped it up to 2000 for the fly through at the end and all seemed fine. I looked at this in a part of a previous mega city map video. The big change was from A20 to A21. In the end... boot up a map and see.
I so love to just see random traders again I hate the trader in set zone it make story lines since but just not as fun rng map

Can't get any of these mods to work. I have my main game on a different drive than C: drive. I've installed all other mods into the mods folder on that drive. Zero issues. Extracting the mods dl'd from the Nexus into the users/appdata/roaming/7days mod folder doesn't do anything (I've never had to install a mod here before). I am playing on the 1.0 experimental branch, but I thought that's what these mods are for? What is my stupidity not letting me see what I am doing wrong?? Sucks being dumb.
Well you are not dumb. Something is just not in the right place for now and we can fix it. So briefly the reason I say you install the mod in the roaming folder is that this is the official place for the mods to go and was said by the game developers to be the only place we should put them (since A21) due to a Windows requirement. The other Mods folder still exists though and still works as a place that you can put the mods instead. In fact, since the latest experimental was released they have their own server mod appearing in that folder. So first troubleshooting... 1. Did you name the Mods folder "Mods" or "mods"? The capital letter M is required. 2. When you go into the Mods folder do you see a directory/folder and inside that the ModInfo.xml and then a further Config directory/folder? If so then the structure is correct. If not you need to move things around. 3. For now you could just use the mods in the old "Mods" folder located with the game files and they will still work. I don't mention the original Mods folder so my video will still be correct in the future if they ever do move over to exclusively using the new Mods folder. If you still are having problems then feel free to find me over on my discord and I can work through things with you. Best of luck.
is there a way to have one massive city some where but not as big on the other biome´s?
Yes the game does that by default on the wasteland. Which bone do you want the big one? I could mod that.

I was wondering why the forest felt so empty, never considered the fun pimps removing even more fun things from the game
They kind of did that without any major announcement. It certainly feels different in game. I had plenty of people ask me about this so I had to mod this one for sure.

It would be nice to be able to have 6k+ maps with 1 large city (Not Mega City) in each biome with no towns at all
Well I do have my central city video for A21. Which means sorting this is high up on my modding list for v1. Should have something ready soon enough.
Dunno if you'll see my comment. BUT can you change biome layout to have the wasteland in the middle? As it just makes ALOT more sense, progression wise. Going around the map and then into the wasteland in the middle.

@Phys1csGamez I'll tell you what would be a cool mod, wouldn't know how to go about it but when your on your bike or whatnot that you could see what ever gun you have equipped on your back or hip if it's a side arm!
Hmm that would be a big change. You would have to see the gun on you at all time which is not already built into the game.

I like to spend as much time on my thumbnails as I do writing the mods. It is art form representing my content through Trader Jen expressionism.

Yes you can either painstakingly build one by hand in the world editor or use Teragon to generate maps with much more options. I will be creating tutorials to do this on UA-cam over the summer. I have some A21 related content on there too.

i have played this game a while ago where you travle along a road and you had to survive ,that inspired me for this
you start at one end and travle along
a mainroad that streches across the whole map with cities where also most of the traders are (burned and wasteland biom)
off to the side it will be desert then forest and have more hills and small towns as "outskirts"
and on the edge mountains with snow
the whole map is basicly a canyon

They must be square. But there is a lot of room if you make a 16k map.
I’m getting big cities everywhere except forest, and really big in wasteland… forest is normal and not effected at all. I tried using massive cities alone, massive with boosted all biomes and still not working right

i could imagine its kinda unfun - deal with your one single trader - sending you 5000 meters for t1 quests (while its still the same city) XD
I believe the maps make more traders as they are not limited in number. Only limited in type by biome.
Back home from work... I had a look at one of my 16k maps and then the xml. It seems the game now limits traders to 4 of each type which may seem spare on a very big map. An easy mod to write. I can make a pack of mods that you pick from to have 5, 6, 7, 8... etc max traders when generating maps if you want.

but
if you have a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG city - with just a single trader - i normaly end up just close arround it - due to quest - what is a bit sad
i liked the change in a 21 - where bigger citys sometimes had 2 - but so far i did not saw a single city with 2 vendors in one city what is a bit sad

Can i upload this to a nitrado server?
Not sure about Nitrado specifically as I use 7d2d.net. I would though generate the maps with my normal game and upload the maps. You don't need these mapping mods when using the maps - they are only needed for the generation only. The Forest Jen will need to be on the server. This mod is server side only.
How about bigger towns with more farms?
