Before the recent tax changes on retirement income there was no way in heck I was going to stay in Iowa. Made absolutely zero sense to live in a state that taxed retirement income.
My parents retired a few years ago and I was surprised by that also., looks like the change will take place in the 2023 tax year if I recall correctly!

look iam from baltimore maryland but have been to desmoines for work its ok if you like the small town fill but for me its not my type
