He isn’t so when he was shooting Korean speaking scenes in ‘Lost’, he had to read the script. His Korean actually got better throughout the filming and here he is. Switching between languages is a common thing for Asian American, especially those who just migrated (you know fob) or those who weren’t born in the states.
@@cab06215 do native koreans sneer at Korean Americans who can't speak koreans? or do native koreans put these Korean Americans on a pedestal because they are born in America and are thus viewed to be 'better', 'upper class' etc? in other words, do native koreans look down on American born Koreans who can't speak their mother tongue and have chosen American culture over their own culture and hence, despise them for it?
@@paulinelambert7780It depends on who you ask to, but I think Koreans do neither of looking up or looking down. They tend to be just proud of being the ethnically same Korean.
@@paulinelambert7780 from my experience, a majority of Koreans definitely sneer and look down upon Korean Americans that can’t speak Korean. Also I’d put Daniel dae Kim’s Korean at a preschool or kindergarten level, which in this case can be very embarrassing as a presenter. His resume kind of helps in this situation but when he starts reading Korean in 1:45 you can tell the rhythm and pronunciation are really off.
