Maybe the best 7 atm and WILL considered one of the best flankers of all time. Ppl don’t know how hard it is to shine in a struggling team and he’s been doing that for years.
Easy to look Good when playing with an average team, Look at O'Driscoll.. Even that said, he clearly is a top tier player. Big ticker and everyone just admires the guy
@@laboonta601 that’s a load of BS m8, it’s easy to stand out but to play better than the majority of the players (for both teams) on the pitch that’s another story altogether
Coming from an All Black fan hell always be my number 2 7 behind Richie but in saying that he's like a distant cousin lmao so theyres no comparison there I feel him and Richie were the same but Richie being from the older generation and Hooper coming in now he's the man basically was on Mccaws level from when they started facing off together but that's why Richie will always be number one he never changed in his playstyle from the early 2000s he continued till 15 years later like dam the consistency in that would've been a hard job
@@kyze-_yt220 from a young wallabies fan I completely agree. Richie McCaw maybe one the best to ever play the game. But through playing and watched Ng rugby I've always loved and admired those type of players like McCaw and Hooper. CONSISTENCY. No matter what the result they are hard grinding players that never let their foot of the pedal and always try to hit the opposition hard and make big plays throughout the game no matter how their team is going
Probably the best 7 I’ve ever seen. Incredible player, athlete and leader. The scary thing is, it doesn’t look like he’s going to be slowing up anytime soon.
@@1362pc Both those guys were far more effective at the rucks, but hooper's support play, work-rate, speed was phenominal. I put all three on the same level with Pocock my slight favourite for talent.

During a long time this guy was alone in the Australia team
That hit on Julian Savea 🔥 gave “The Bus” a flat tyre. 😂
Players come and go but Hoops is always there, split brow, unruly golden locks and all 😂😂😂😂😂 body on the line everytime! One of my faves!❤
Best 7 in the world atm he's unbelievable
Love this man so much I’ll cry when he retires
😢😢

I've seen many great no. 7s.....and he's not in the top 8....
@@1362pctop 15
best flanker atm and best wallabies captian we've had in a while
I think he has the worst % win rate of any Wallabies captain...
"Surely he'll be the man to lead Australia to the next world cup." yeah, about that...
exceptionally good player like pocock
Pocock and Smith were better no. 7s than Hooper

Michael hooper and David Popock 😩
Some of Australia's finest
Congrats on the retirement today. ARU owe you champ 🫡
such a king player !!
Machine Tackle 🔥💪👑
He Is 5.10 AND 86 kg
yeah..too small..in the RWC the big boys will just push him out of the way
What could have been 2023 :/
What's his win % as captain? must be around 35%
I swear nathan hughes is just getting bullied by all the little guys
He has the worst win record as an Australian captain in any sport, not by a little bit,by a mile
