The latest varieties of osteospermums do not need deadheading and will bloom continuously month after month in a sunny spot .They are one of my favorite plants as they come in such a huge range of colours
I’m also in zone 8b. Just brought in my favorite African daisy to try and overwinter in a southern window. I know it might get scraggly but fingers crossed
Woohoo, I found the update lol! Love seeing the flowers that grew after you deadhead it
Great video! Thank you. I'm unfamiliar with them, but in helping a neighbor nurse his back to health. Praise God for the internet! 😃
Hi Heather! 👋 Thank YOU for watching and for being such a great, caring neighbor! 💪😃
@@SpokenGarden the one I dead-headed for him while chatting with him the week before has a whole, new flush of buds on it! Lovely raspberry color. I'm looking forward to seeing how the others fare. Not sure about the Violas and Pansies though. They don't seem to make it through the whole summer regardless. 🤷
Thank you for answering my question on what zone they can survive. I planted these beautiful plants in Spring 2022 here in zone 7. They grew into huge woody plants tripled in size.
I’ve had one overwinter outside sheltered under the eve up next to the house. I left all the dead stuff on and didn’t cut it back till spring and it grew like nuts. Died the following winter because I forgot it was there and the flower bed dried completely.
Great video thank you guys! 💕
Hi The Hawkins Family Vlogs! 👋 Thank you for saying that and for being here! 👍😃
My osteospermum has yellow leaves try to water regularly maybe too much water?
Tenho amarela e lilás , como queria semente de outras cores ( essa é linda) aqui no 🇧🇷tenho dificuldade em achar até semente delas😞
hi! my osteospernum has a bunch of brown dead leaves on the bottom part of the stems, should i be removing those?
Hi Katie! 👋 Thank you for watching and for asking your great question. If your plants have nice, healthy green leaves on the top actively growing areas, then yes it is definitely ok to remove those older, crunchier leaves down towards the base of the plant stems. These should just be older leaves and this is part of an Ostespermum maturing. We see this on our's and we just lightly pull them away from the stems with our fingers. You can also use micro-snips or straight-edged snips the cut and remove each one of those leaves. Hope that answers your question and thanks again for watching! 😊👍
@@SpokenGarden thank you!!!
Is there a way to propagate that? Or keep seeds?
You need to make cuttings when new shoots come up.... Its quite simple
What zone are you in
Hi there! We are in Zone 9a. What zone are you growing in?
