Phil Schreier did not do his homework on NEVADA SMITH. When he talks about the great cast he points out Pat Hingle? Loni Anderson who is barely in the movie? No mention of Martin Landau, Karl Malden, or Brian Keith? Amazing! Hingle is one of many great character actors who have bit parts in the movie but that would also include John Doucette, Val Avery, Paul Fix, Gene Evans, Howard Da Silva, Bert Freed, Stanley Adams, Iron Eyes Cody, Josephine Hutchinson, Joanna Moore, Lyle Bettger and more (like Strother Martin and L.Q Jones). Hope his knowledge of firearms is better than his knowledge of movies.

Can anyone identify what kind of "over/under" rifle being used at the beginning of "Nevada Smith?" I know nothing about firearms, but I am a big Western Fim buff, so it's nice to see something about the firearms used, especially when they are used both at the correct chronological time of the film or anachronistically.

What is the over and under rifle/shotgun you see in the early part of the show?

I thought I was going to see the ML rifle McQueen carried at the beginning of the movie Nevada Smith. It appeared to be a combination shotgun and rifle and was a Percussion fired gun. All I see here is a Schofield Pistol!

The Schofield was a great revolver; from what I understand, a Schofield was Jesse James' favorite revolver later on in his "career".

Love the S&W Schofields but prefer the original 7" barrel versions with no aftermarket stampings (Wells Fargo modified) although I'd LOVE to own that Nevada Smith version..

As always a great video. Do you advertise this in the American Rifleman and American Hunter, more folks should see this.
