I was lucky enough to get The Berserker and I couldn't be happier with it. The weight, feel, tone, look... well pretty much everything about it is superb!!! Once you plug it in and dial up the volume, it really begins to shine. Whether you're using effects or playing clean, this guitar is an absolute dream. Epiphone knocked it out of the park on this one!!!
I own since 6 days the "Veil of Bees", and I must say, and I'm very astonished about that, that this guitar is so much better than my Gibson Les Paul Custom!! 😳 It sounds better, the variety of sounds is bigger, and it stays so much better in tune!! Excellent job, Epiphone!!! 👍👍👍🤘
I bought the Veil Of Bees when it came out and hated it. I turned around and sold it right away. Took a chance buying one blindly and was hesitant at the price. It’s definitely way overpriced
Yes it’s expensive but: It’s unique, has a DD in the bridge, full burst to spec, tuners are good, custom probucker is good, volute is nice, ebony fingerboard is awesome, chainsaw case is premium. I love my VOB and have zero regrets, if anything, it exceeded my expectations.
Fantastic video as always! I got the Veil of Bees since it was the 1st release, but this one........ I like it more! Should have waited! One of these days I'll teach ya some Tool riffs :)
I have both, and although I like the Berzerker drawing more, the "quality" of the artwork is much better on the Veil of Bees. If I were to keep only one, it would be the Veil of Bees...you did good IMHO.
It’s weird when people say it “reminds me of”. It’s fucking Frank Frazetta - one of the most famous fantasy artists to have ever lived. If something reminds you of this, it’s because it either IS a Frank Frazetta piece, or they copied his style. The Berzerker image isn’t famous for being on a Molly Hatchet cover, it was already well know because it was painted for the Conan The Conquerer novel.
Excellent review! You answered a very important question...."Which Seymour Duncan Distortion pickup model is in the bridge position"? So it is the SH-6. I've heard debates on whether it's the SH-4, SH-5, or SH-6 that most closely reproduces the AJ tone. Thanks again for a great video!
It's the true 80s duncan distortion Ceramic high output pickup...the Duncan custom classic is very similar. Duncan's ceramic pickups sound better than the alnico to my ears.
It's hard to beat the combination of some of those features on a Les Paul with Conan on the back. Putting Conan on something always makes it better. I'm sure it definitely makes the tone better. 😸
Can't wait to see these sit on reverb asking $2k for a 1300 dollar guitar. At that point spend the extra grand and just get the Gibson signature. Would have been nice to have an Adam Jones Epiphone that isn't super limited so that actual players could obtain them instead of scalpers.
@@SionynJones once all adam jones models are out there i think they will drop, its like 7 times 800pcs, that is 5.6k guitars, which is like 3 to 5 times more than the JB models quantity usually. i understand that the artwork is unique to each series but the guitar is the same. we just have to be patient. *sidenote, for 1299 we dont even get full gibson or seymour pickups, i found these models a bit overpriced even at the retail price, but maybe its just me.
@David Hall absolute certainty. Hoovering wallets at all price points by slowly releasing models that trickle further and further down the range. It's inevitable there'll be unlimited Epi plain backs after the art pieces have sold.
Hi John and Zach! Can you feature or do a review on the Epiphone Sheraton Pro 2? I'm thinking of getting it but I can't find a channel that gives a comprehensive review like your channel... It would also be nice to compare all the hollow bodies from Epiphone. More power to you guys!
Would you people subscribe to this channel so they can give that guitar away and I can be very disappointed I didn't win it.At least the waiting will be over.
Sorry John, and Zach.I tried repeatedly, following your link to Zzounds for this guitar. Could not find it. Wanted to purchase through you. After several attempts, went straight to the Epiphone site and ordered. ThNk you for the video.👍
I'm glad you found it on Epiphone's website, it's not yet live on the major retailers websites but will be at some point today. For those still looking, keep trying and I'll update when the link is live. Thanks for watching!
I Was woundering how u got One all Ready ? Do u have them in Stock now ? Were can I buy one now ? Is that zZounds I looked it dosent show any Can I Buy the One you have in this Video ? Please let me know Thank You 👍✌🎸🎀🎸
Yea, not trying to hate, but for $1,300, you could get a USA made Gibson Les Paul Studio or a used Les Paul Traditional/Standard. $1,300 is a lot for an Ephiphone made in China.
theres only 800 of these, and its part of a artwork collection. No chance your getting a Gibson Les Paul Standard for $1300 unless its in pieces. Your comparing apples and oranges.
@@DYK3RZ I just sold a 2016 Les Paul Traditional a few weeks ago for about $1600 - 1700, and if you check Reverb, there are Les Paul Standards in the sub $1600 range. Maybe $1300 is a little low for a Standard, but you can find the older ones sub $1500 (they got one on Reverb right now). Traditionals are even easier to find cheaper and they are pretty close to Standards. If you want the Epiphone for the art work, go ahead. But IMO, for a few hundred more, you can get a much better overall guitar. If the artwork was on the front, it would make some more sense, but you won't even see it most of the time when you're playing.
@@richardwalley2862 I have both a Standard 50s and Custom and I don't think an Epiphone comes close to either. Still good instruments, but you can feel the difference.
Hey, I'm a a guitar noob so I don't know much about pickups. Would this guitar be great for playing classic rock from bands like Guns N Rose's, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Rolling stones, etc. Or is it best for metal?
It could definitely handle all you listed very well. With the Seymour Duncan Distortion humbucker in bridge it's even better for something like Nirvana too. I play a lot of classic rock styles also and found it works great, but you could also look into the regular Epiphone Les Paul Custom too. Thanks for watching!
@David Hall yep. Was hoping to buy a norlins era custom at some point but all these Adam Jones releases have skyrocketed the prices. Still cheaper than a brand new custom in most cases tho. Lol. Love the cherry and tobacco burst customs from that era.
This is bull***T!!! The everyday player can’t buy one but these guys with UA-cam channels get them first. If we get a chance to buy one they have marked up 3x the original price #imdone!!
I was able to get Veil of Bees from my guy @ Sweetwater, I saw online, about a week before the first drop, & asked to get put on presale list. They obliged. If you want one(unfortunately) you’ll have to search for possible next artist & next drop date, the info is out there. So…I’m a nobody & was able to get one. Hang in there
A lot of folks in the Adam Jones guitar collectors facebook group got heads up to pre-order. Would recommend joining that group and reaching out to sales reps at the major retailers regularly and hopefully you can pre-order for the next release. I think once all 7 versions are out and there’s more examples flooding the market used prices will drop a bit too, but that’s just a guess.
You know what, if I got one I’d want them all! But Adam Jones ought to stop them right now! He’s already a millionaire! Why does he need more? Especially knowing the fact that some surgeons or some big wig lawyers who’ll buy the whole collection then price gouge the crap out of them in Adams namesake!
Another Epiphone that's impossible to find. First it was Lifeson, then Cantrell, now Jones. Hey Epiphone, make enough of your products for everyone, not just reps that buy them up & resell them.
I would have bought one. I mean, $1299 for an Epiphone is a stretch. A long stretch. But it does include some nice features. The Frazzetta art is what I wanted. 800 copies worldwide? Bullshit

Dang, that AJ is awesome looking. I would always want to hold backwards to show off the FF work.
The tone is fantastic, the SD bridge lives up to the expectations. The middle and neck positions were great - Epi. Did a great job on this collection

Love the art! Reminds me of a MOLLY HATCHET album cover, one of my favorite bands🙏🙏🙏
I believe u are correct on that album cover
Thought the same thing; wondering why they never brought out one of those guitars
It reminds me of the paintings on the side of a 1970's love van.

Vibes of Hatchet come flooding back, perfect, I'd love to own that mammerjamer

The hanging blue/violet hollowbody doublecut in the back looks 🤤😍🤤

Proud to say I have both. :) That's probably where I'll stop, though. These were the two artists that were most interesting to me.
This gave me a great idea. I'm gonna go air brush the underside of my car. Sweet!
