I have seen this method before, but never so clearly explained! You definitely have the ability to give instructions, while making it seem very simple. I love the idea that you made some beautiful hinges. Thank you so much for those! This is a fabulous way of making a journal because you can control the gator mouth a little more. Very interesting method of making a journal. I always have issues when it comes time to adding the spine but this method makes it look easy. I will give this a try in the near future. Thank you for sharing another great idea and the hinges freebie. The hinges will help make the first journal experience easier.😊

Thanks so much for the quick response. This is fabulous. I made journals for my grandkids but ended with huge “alligator mouth” by the time I was done with an old readers digest book. No more alligator mouth. Said before but will say again. After viewing many creators work, you are the only journalist creator I follow. Your explanations and visuals are easy and to the point. Hi Donna. I absolutely love this idea. I have issues wanting to make sure that both sides of the pages are together instead of separated by many other pages. (Not every page can be the center of the signature lol but this way they can).

Hi, I really do like the concept, and you explained it very well. My only question is, are you limited as to how much you can add, meaning what will happen if it gets too thick. Will the tape start to tear? Hope I'm explaining myself correctly. TYFS.
thanks a lot @lballerina6725, you can keep going until it feels right, I done one at 1" and it was fine. after that I would rather go to the sewing method. the tape will only tear if you use vintage or thin papers and not center them as the spine grows. ♥︎♡☆🦋 hugs Donna happy crafting
