That is very informative and an excellent idea. You would rather be a little over prepared than grossly under prepared. A big difference between ready for the weekend and still figuring out how you are going to get there and back.
Keep up the good work, Bubba.
Glad it was helpful!
I travel full time in my 5th wheel and your list of stuff sums up a lot of what i carry too. I have some extra’s like a cordless recip and circ saws, drill, driver, angle grinder and a pin nailer and some other tools. The only thing i wish i had with me is my welder. Maybe someday my little Hobart 140 thats sitting in storage will make its way into the RV.
You are so right about being prepared. Like you i am a self reliant kind of guy and when you are out there and you need something you need it so i carry quite a few supply’s and spare parts as well as a pile of tools. Some people say i go to far when they see things like two spare leaf springs and hardware in my truck box but im not going to be the guy stranded on the side of the road. I like to be prepared for anything, it’s how i was raised…. My father used to say there are three kinds of people, those that make it happen, those that watch it happen and those that wonder what happened. I fall firmly in the make it happen camp….
These are some great ideas!! I use a lot of them myself and now I have new things to add to my shopping list. I really appreciate that you are showing items that you purchased yourself and not things you were given to promote.
One additional idea to consider is one of the extendable waste hose carriers that mount under the camper for the black hose. I have a heavy duty hose that does not fit well in the bumper. These are nice because they keep the black hose out of your storage compartment and just bolt up to the frame rails.
We are the same in that it seems that I travel with enough tools to equip a repair shop. Now I need to stop binging your videos and get some things done. 🤣
Haha. Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed!!
Buying a camper to live in because life ya know and I’m glad I found this. Gives me things to think about. Like I’ve said thanks UA-cam dad. Needed the advice and assistance. Give me some peace of mind.
Awesome! Happy to help!!
This was a super helpful video! I just moved up to a modern camper with bells and whistles from a vintage camper with bare bones amenities. I've been working on getting it equipped with all the necessities. The tips about water (especially the pex fix it stuff), electric, and sewer gear as well as how you organized it all was really helpful. There were several other things that you mentioned that I didn't have on my list yet. I'm like you and I like to be prepared for things ahead of time just in case. I know I won't be using a welder, but that was a pretty impressive prep to have in the camper. LOL. Thanks for going through all this stuff! Much appreciated. You just got a new sub.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!!
Someone pretty awesome bought me one of those husky tool kits for my birthday a while back, and it’s amazing!!
My man!!
I use the wireless thermometer for winter camping so I know when the undercarriage of the trailer is reaching freezing temperatures and I can turn on my heaters or to monitor my heaters are working so nothing will freeze in sub zero temperatures. I get the warm fuzzies watching this video, I have done almost every one of these upgrades to my 45 ' toy hauler that weren't already in the trailer . Our mini fridge in the garage always opened when towing so I added a baby lock to it and no issues since. I prefer to call mine a stinky slinky! The only thing I would add to the list is some Yellow propane T-Tape just in case you have a propane leak and you need a quick fix for fittings.
Good video. I feel like I would mount the fire extinguisher a little bit further from the stovetop though. But I've never had an RV so I don't know.
Nice video Dan.
Thanks!!
My first car was a 1971 Pontiac Grand Prix! Should have dual fuel tanks.
Where's the crescent wrench
If you don't have one adding a 2in receiver to the back bumper is a great addition for either bike racks or a cargo carrier. I have a deeze toolbox back there i use for hoses and stuff. I also addes a swing out arm mount for my Blackstone. Also a simple tension rod can give you privacy anywhere.
Deeeze Nutttz. Right?!
You got me. Hahaha
