They are terrific together. No wonder he is her tenor of choice. In addition to gorgeous voices, they have acting chops, stage presence, and a frisson between them.
She starts to laugh after he stuck his thumb in her eye later....catches herself and boops his nose and blows him a kiss before she exits..so fun... probably lost it backstage!
I’ve never seen Carreras looking this soft , especially around the face. Chin and jaw. Did he gain weight for this role , or was this how he looked at this age.?
I'm sure about him, the consummate lover-tenor, with honeyed voice, a sweetness to his passion, and, frankly, an erotic charge. Montserrat knew what she was doing when she made him her tenor of choice.

Caballé seems to be stifling laughter at the very beginning but snaps out of it quickly. Love her so much. ❤️🎶❤️

@@lynntownsend4457 Thanks for the reply. That's great. I need to go back and rewatch it.
Carreras ha dato a Cavaradossi un timbro e un fraseggio senza paragoni, nessuno come lui. Nessuno.
Carreras tenía una voz bellísima
I really watch Tosca with Caballe and Pavarotti in 1978 or 1985. Me big dream
Yes, Nice. I think 1980. Wonderful singing!
Don't make Montsy jealous, paint those eyes dark!
no es Paris, es la versió del 1981 a Nice amb Jesus Echeverry.
Voci impagabili...di altri tempi ..tutto cambia anche le voci
Is there somewhere I can find a complete video for this opera?

His face was naturally round at that age - but went more refined- his voice has always been wonderful-
Schertando?!...
Caballé is wonderful but not sure about Carreras, would have preferred to see her singing with Domingo, i wonder if she ever did Tosca with him?

I agree. Sadly, Carreras' voice was already showing some damage. He could barely get past G without straining.
I bit over sung on Carreras' part but wonderful none the less......
