In this video, we tour Arauco's newest North American particle board and lamination facility. We were the first cameras allowed to go behind the scenes to see why this $500,000,000 facility is so special.
Arauco's newest facility is the largest of its kind in North America and the most technologically advanced in the world. Positioned in northern Michigan because of access to its local wood basket (forests), Arauco's raw material comes from within 70 miles of the facility.
Arauco's focus has been on sustainability and is a major reason why they've worked hard to train local logging companies to become FSC certified. These certifications are important to maintain proper management of forests. Since the plant has opened, they've gone from only two logging companies being FSC certified, to over fifty logging companies with this certification.
