Make sure you watch to the end for a special excerpt from the CD Drama
RIP Paul. On father's day no less. Hope You had a great one. The end hit SO hard 😭😭
I didn't cry 😢😢😢
RIP pual😭😭
paul
Did geese kidnapped Zenith??
We went from "Rising of the meat hero" to "emotional damage" in just one season 😢
More like “Rising of the orphaned hero” (ik that zenith isnt dead but it’s for the joke)
She may as well be dead if she doesn't regain her memory lol@@OKOk-hg2mg
@@OKOk-hg2mg its about ED and lil rudeus
"Rising of the Meat Hero" 😭💀
😂😂😂😂😂
"I still have many regrets--but it's better than rudy dying." that broke my heart
Yeah they should have kept Paul's thoughts in the Anime.
You kind of feel it anyway. But not as emotional.
It’s rudys fault he died. Man god told him not to go and knew what would happen if he did go
@@gwryddMan god is a liar. Do you really think Paul and his group can take on the hydra and live to tell the tale?
@gwrydd oh your gonna love the rat crystallisation arc, I would like you defend the man god after that
@@gwryddLol.. wait and see
The studio knew what they were doing with the delay
.. a father's day release😭😭😭😭
How many times are yall gonna bring this up on every video
@@Henny77161It's honestly fair to do so. Because man, that took me out of it. I felt no emotional impact of them killing Paul because the 4th wall break of putting it on Father's Day. "Oh fuck you! 😂" was my immediate reaction to the scene.
Fate/zero moment
@@Henny77161 as long as Paul is involve 😅
@@Henny77161I was about to say the same thing. Like bro we get it damn.
"Paul is now half the man he used to be"- Chibi reviews
You cold for that bro
At this point I can’t tell if I like Paul or not… maybe im about 50/50
But no, I think he’s grown on me. In this episode he really shows us what he’s like on the inside.
But let’s be real, in bed do you think Paul is a top or a bottom?
From son to father, they both take turns losing their bottom half.
lol not funny at least i laughted with respect
r.i.p Paul
Paul became the honoured one
Paul alone became the honoured one
He'd win.
a few details in the episode i liked:
the way rudy shielded from the hydra's breath attack was the same way he shielded from the red dragon's breath.
the position of rudy on the floor when he lost his arm is the same as the hallucination paul had after their fight in millis.
idk if its just me but rudy's demon eye seems more vibrant than when he first got it. maybe it's the new season art changing or maybe its the result of it assimilating into him with age
I loved when the Hydra bit one of its necks in order to regenerate
Paul said to Rudy, "Save your mother, even if you die", Because his fatherly instinct say "Because I will save you, even If I die"
Your vids of cut content was so reliable. I always waiting for your vid to pop in my screen. Thanks dude.
"Preperation was the most important thing" Jumps right into a boss fight instead of leaving and recruiting more people to help and cash in on that hydra loot. Its not like there was a rush, the hydra wasn't going anywhere.
Or Zenith. Fr fr
@@AniNewsExactly 😅😅😅😅
Paul wanted to show off to Rudeus. It was straight up reckless.
Depends they probably could have but alot of people refused to go near that place. But they probably could have waited to get some more of their close Allie.
@@KhanMann66 he got to show him his better half i guess

Remember how we all used to kinda hate Paul, I'll miss him in the series
I still do
@@PabloparsilI’ve never hated him once, is there a reason to hate him?
@@d12xshadyx He is way too tough with Rudeus, he loses his temper too easily, he is generally unfair and immature
@@d12xshadyxman's a rapist wtf do you mean? Lol
With that said he's still probably my favorite character because despite his flaws he's grown into a significantly better man.
@@Giliver hes a cheater not a rapist. unless i missed something i dont think that happened
I've watched it 3 times already, it's broken me every time. That CD drama also got me. Such a great episode, it has reaffirmed that this show is one of my favorites, and I can't wait to see Rudy's whole story animated.
Now watch a fourth time, listen carefully about the "curse" meantioned at the beginning. Caused by fire producing CO2 and removing O2 and find a reason why Rudy doesn't burn up all O2 in that room, let the hydra sufficate and walk in with a makeshift oxigen tank to loot
Fight smart not hard
Thanks!
It was my first time hearing the CD drama and good lord that tore my heart out once again. The line delivery are absolutely crushing it, paul's frustration and regret are so palpable. Even when he delivered the line that his death is better than rudy dying it feels like hes so bitterly angry that he didnt get to survive to atleast see zenith rescued.
Its just so sad that he lived his life up to that point with so much pain and agony just so he could reunite his family...
It’s been since Jiraya died that I’ve felt this way about a anime death… shook me to the core
I'm checking the episode and Paul specifically says "shindemo" (死んでも). If you look it up in a dictionary, "shindemo" seems like more of an idiom than a literal thing. Though we all know at this point it was probably meant to put a final death flag for Paul as a character, amongst the other less obvious ones so far in the season.
Amazing video as always sam! And the ending... That hurt. Hearth please, as consoliation❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the work and explanation! And thank you for playing the CD version!
discovered your content recenlty and wanted to say thanks for covering the stuff that i dont see as an anime only peorson.
Zenith dropped a Boji line at the end of the ep
Epic!! Mushoku Tensei’s big episodes never disappoint. Absolute banger!
RIP Paul you dearest scumbag! 😢He never got to become a grandfather :/ Seeing Norns reaction is going to be heartbreaking and Rudy is really going to take this hard as well.
This episode truly was perfect, I already saw it 3 times and will once again before the next one.
Great video as always my man.
This was an extremely emotional and action-packed episode, I knew that someone was going to die but I wasn't ready for the outcome. 10/10 episode
"Hey kid, wanna see this hype-as-fuck episode?"
"Lol sike get gutpunched 5 times"
7:00 my hypothesis is that Zenith was transported there first and mana crystal formed around her. This bypasses the obscene mana requirement to teleport into a solid object.
Your hypothesis is likely wrong. It's said that Zenith had been adventuring into that labyrinth for a while after the teleportation incident, only to go missing on one of those raids.
@@catxray1603 i think thats a lie seeing as it was Geese who told Rudeus that. Remember even when Kishirika told roxy where she was, she was trapped
@@iammiist fair, but that was also a while after the mana disaster. It's still technically possible that that piece of info is true.
@@catxray1603 No, it isnt.
It was insane that they aired this particular episode on "Father's Day."
RIP Paul Greyrat
That last part hit hard……. R.I.P. Paul
Aninews is the BEST anime channel! Always happy to See a new video here! Love to learn more of the lore of My favorite stories with You Sam!😊😊😊😊😊
Paul was such a beast he went all out yet Rudeus should train way more with his eye
But man was this episode good love this anime
paul was so badass during this fight I wish he was able to live but with some major injuries or something but it is what it is. RIP Paul Greyrat
I still cant believe they released this episode on Fathers Day. RIP Paul.
Was looking forward to this! Thanks
hearing paul's last thoughts and Redues's last thought hit so different
I have never been this emotionally devastated by an episode of anime. I was legitimately crying for the whole rest of the episode when it happened, and then afterwards.
It's in these dire and/or final moments that we see who characters truly are. Obviously, Paul had his flaws - they're many, they're substantial, and they've been on full display at times. But at the end of it all, we see that what drove him above all else was his burning desire to protect his family. He devoted every remaining moment of his life after the teleportation to reuniting and protecting his family and friends, and the broken-down state we see him in at times is merely the result of Paul believing he's failed at that task. He was utterly determined to rescue his wife no matter what, his last conscious action was to protect his son without any thought of the risk to himself, and his final thoughts were almost all about the rest of his family.
In the end, he proved himself to be a better husband, father, and overall person than we give him credit for in most of the story.🫡
A little scared he was a little too heavy handed on that foreshadowing but considering by the time the video breakdown for that pay off is uploaded… most of the anime only crew will have forgotten this scene. But it’s brilliant writing & great breakdown as always
imagine getting an OVA covering what paul went through since sending norn and aisha along with ruijerd to live with rudeus up to him dying to save his son from the hydra.
The whole labyrinth expedition through his perspective.
I wish we could get something like that, paul deserves something like that.
Great video!
This episode hit just as hard as when I read it in the LN!
This was a tough one to watch. It felt like we were in the middle of Paul's redemption arc when... It's over.
This episode was amazing with all the rollercoaster of emotions.
“Oh well. Its better than Rudeus Dying” Man that cut deep
RIP Paul he redeemed himself in the end.
He rescued nearly every missing person from his village after the teleportation if they were alive and wanted rescuing. Screw that "in the end" crap. He goated himself LONG before his death 😤
Paul was a real bad ass dad who wouldn’t have been proud to have a father like him! I wish we got to see black fang in action man they must have been unstoppable!
"they were even more organized than it appeared"
Maybe, but the teamwork and the way they did everything was SOO good. It was one of my favorite depictions of a party working together in Anime.
And most of all, if made me want a video game SOOO badly! And not some crap mobile game, not a guest MT in another crap mobile game, a REAL game. And specifically I mean a non turn based, action RPG!
Honestly if I could legit publish one without getting it shut down I'd slave my life away in Unreal Engine 5, that game DESERVES to be made 😢
9.5/10 simply because perfection is unachievable. Imo the best version of the events we could have gotten in Anime format.
I cried….that’s all…..I cried…
Episode was TRAGIC
That reading at the end made me so sad, could you make one of your T-shirts based on the sword that Paul has as a dedication to him?
RIP Paul went out like any good father would.
That CD Drama killed me. I'm dead. RIP Paul. Became a better man each day.
The "its better than Rudy dying" that got me. RIP Paul
The problem with the 'aura' explanation for Paul not getting clear of the attack is that we saw several times in this battle that physics do affect him
it is cause he is moving off of immovable objects and just strong opponents while kicking rudy is the same as kicking a paper. you wouldnt have enough force to propel yourself back
@@munkhgalamarmend8809 right.. physics state he would keep moving.
Against the hydra,he used momentum to strengthen his attacks on rebound
His kick at Rudy should have sent both of them flying in the same direction
Without the Magical blade the best option to kill the hydra would be Anti-charging spears spears-harpoons thick enough to withstand the weight of bulls, bears elephants. They would stab the underside of the jaw which is not armored and disable the heads by spearing the underjaw to the upper jaw allowing the hydra head to only flail. After that they would need to cut of the main head of the Hydra(leading head) and then the hydra would die. If there is no leading head in particular then the best option would be to attack the body in order to destroy the heart and burn it.
(Or go close and perform point blank magic. since the heads cannot bite now.)
Damn, that last part made me re-live the book all over again, the whole next volume I was in tears even knowing how flawed of a human Paul was..
Excellent video 👍 Thank you 💜
6:50 Pauli's Exclusion Principle
holy hell
People think its diabolical that they would release this episode on Fathers day because he dies, but i like to think it of another way.
It showed what a Father would do and sacrifice for his son and wife. Paul may have made mistakes in the past, but he died a hero saving his son and finally rescuing his wife after so long. It why he smile, he died happy.
Honestly I don’t think Paul would have been able to handle seeing Zenith the way she was, I’m not saying anything for certain but I wouldn’t have been surprised if Paul tried to take his own life.
Paul is many things, but a coward is not one of them. Paul would not take his own life over that, he was prepared for Zenith to die.
Paul would have taken care of her. His son and his two daughters.
He might've gone into another drinking bender, but he would've recovered. I'd be curious to what he'd do after though, I wouldn't see him as a stay at home dad/grandpa. He'd probably gone back to adventuring.
He must go out of his way to find the cure.
I knew it was coming but it still hit me so hard. RIP Paul you were their father through and through and you diserved to be. ❤
~Delayed until Father’s Day. The studio new what they were doing~
Literally drop everything Aninews upload
When Paul told Rudy to die if it means to save Zenith, he was talking to himself
What a dad.
*dead
@@MabusTiefsee not funny
The show dampered the Happy on father's day😭
Reading this whole arc in the LN was gut wrenching the first time, and even more so the second time. Guess what it was like watching it in anime form? The same.
Like i knew paul was gonna die but for the first time in awhile seeing an anime character die hurt me idk if it was because he didnt get to see his grandchild or what but it hurt
Soon as I seen it 😧
Makes you wonder how much easier the fight would have been if either Ghislaine, Ruijerd or Eris was with them.
When Rudy lost his arm I was like "big deal, he can grow it back with his magic", then he says his best magic can't fully regrow it, and its gone for good. So then I'm like damn, I guess this fight did have consequences. Then Paul... and I realized why that whole arm scene happened, to tell us no amount of magic would fix him.
Yeah....this ep was FU¢KING WILD!!!!!!!!!
The anime does a good job of elaborating personalities without explicitly saying it. If you know Paul, the reason you gave for why they didnt go back is very in your face.
He was ready to punch Rudy just for being calm. God forbid he even suggest they go back.
I saw the final picture of Rudy and his entire family and thought "where is Paul?"
Anddddd this episode answered that 😐
This episode was awesome 👌
I'm so much happier with the way the anime portrayed Paul's death scene. In fact, there's a lot of somewhat small changes the anime makes that I feel are much better than the original LN. I don't like getting internal dialogue randomly from characters that aren't the main protagonist. And I don't believe it's even necessary if the story is told correctly anyway. Just set up the scene and let the audience fill in the blanks. Just seeing Paul's face, his expression, as he was dying, says SO much more than being able to hear his thoughts all of a sudden for some reason. Knowing now what he was ACTUALLY thinking makes me see him as less or at least takes away from some of the beauty of the scene I originally interpreted it as...
That smile and blood running down from the corner of the mouth. No words. Fucking great.
You have to understand that japanese stories are much much more characterdriven then western stories. So there will always be input from other chracters outside the MC in japanese storytelling.
This is also why western stories tended to be better when they told the heroes journey, or other classic tales. TenED as western stories are garbage these days due to incompetent writers and ideological zombies.
tehres only 3 more episode. i wonder how will it go, will they skip the journey and go straight home with them. how will slyp react, how will norn or aisha react, at least aisha got her mom back, norn lost both, will lillia stay with them at the mansion? soo many questionssss
The anime made anime onlies think that rudy froze during the end of the fight
I really wish I could buy the Benimaru one😢
The end was.....😭😭😭😭💔
I think they should have added the line from the cd drama in the anime somewhere 😭
Soo many foreshadowing here.
I think to what Rudy and his party could've done better. They definitely could've went back to town and gotten more gear specifically to counter the Hydra's special abilities or possibly recruit more adventurers to join them. There's no doubt they would've gained some measure of success in doing one of those at the very least.
Yeah, I feel like it was Paul's fault if he wasn't soo erratic and had been more thoughtful he could have prevented his death
I guess I didn't think about it till you pointed it out but ya it would have been much better for them to retreat and come back better prepared. Whether with more party members or some new equipment that could help them. Not like Zenith was going anywhere and she had already been there for so long as it was.
I cried. It hit me hard. Unexpectedly so.
New Mushoku Tensei Game Out! Any Quest of Memories reviews?
Hiw could they kill him on father's day!!!???
hell yea
Happy fathers days Paul.
i was thinking the same thing ! they know their magic was useless, get another swords man to join
It's alos because rudy mind is already adult that he didn't feel the same motherly love that a normal child would be...
my glorious king paul.. poor rudeus
mushoku tensei is peak fiction
Turning Point 3, the episode where Rudeus found out his mother was in serious danger, happened on Mother's Day, and they PURPOSEFULLY skipped a week to make this episode land on Father's Day 💀
his death was total plot convenience, rudy spacing out and needing to be saved when he has the eye was the dumbest thing in this anime so far imo.
Its also the episode being release on fathers day...
I'm mad that they did the week delay they should have started earlier and made this a two-part episode to give it time to breath to be even more impactful
Woop woop!
