100% agree. I've been saying for years that Supercross has become synchronized aerial ballet. Glad I'm not alone in that.

The FIM took over our racing, "had to" force the 12 national track owners to make all the tracks soft dirt, (not statistically possible with the freedom to build what they want). and design the SX tracks to keep everybody the same speed. Policy comes from principles, and principles come from some kind of philosophy. The FIM philosophy is socialist/communistic, where everybody gets a trophy, and nobody is suppose to be great. When is the last time we heard a racer say "I am going to win this race/series."? They don't have the confidence to say it anymore. But Jett---is the great individual that those terrible philosophies are not holding down,--and he is ticking off the FIM, I promise. :) Doug in Michigan

That is because Bob is a confident "individual" with his own brain. Today, we have one big, stupid, collectivist brain and it is "politically incorrect" to use your own to figure out reality,---so we don't.

Went to watch my 1st motocross in Illinois to see my cousin race in 78'. I was hooked! He gave me his magazine collection the next year and I became aware of my future idol Bob Hurricane Hannah. I ate, slept, rode, lived, raced, dreamed Bob Hannah. Met a similar individual spectating at same track (Wapella) in 80' we are still tight. First bike a 75' YZ80 IN 79'. Rode Yamaha till 85', then went red. Was devastated Bob got 4th at my first national Red Bud 82'. But did get to see the Hurricane stomp 'am all @ St.Louis 83'- I'll never forget the intensity! Started working at a Yamaha dealer in 84'. Thank you so much for this interview. Thoroughly enjoyed Hannah speaking truth like John Wayne. Bob Hannah changed my life for the better. Quit racing but still ride, dig Singletrack now, two-stroke always.

These are fantastic interviews. Kudos. Would love to see more. I would really love to hear an interview with Horst Lietner. Guys like him are the real hero's of mankind. How about "Joe Montgomery", (the past CEO of Cannondale), so we can get his side of the story, about the only bike made in the USA and the barriers they ran into. I don't think he would paint MXA in a good light there, and he would be right, (if you read that "hit piece" against Cannondale in a bike test.). Shame on us.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn at Croom, FL, for two weeks. Late 1980's. Hannah was in the room next to me. 95 degrees FL summer heat. We rode our bikes from the hotel to the pit, mx track. Hannah did not use an AC in his hotel room to get used to the FL heat so he can compete in the FL summer nationals. He was so fast on that track, then came back to his room and did not turn on his AC!

When I was a kid in the early 70's I remember watching Decoster and Wolsink and Mikola etc. racing Carlsbad on ABC wide world of sports. It was maybe 1973 or 74. I knew at that moment I had to do that. It took me a while because I had to get old enough to work and buy my pickup and my bikes and stuff but eventually I became a local MX racer. I rode Suzuki because that's what Roger rode. Guys like Decoster and Hannah and Smith were my hero's. I was not good but I had fun. Having fun was my motivation. Then I quit for 18 years. Wife, home, etc. When I came back in my 40's all the two strokes had been replaced by four strokes. I was racing Hondas. First a 250F and then a 450F. I had fun but my bones became more brittle and breaking when I crashed. Now I am partially crippled in my right shoulder and I had to quit again but they were the best years of my life. I never had more fun doing anything else and now in my 60's I never will. Motocross can literally kill you. A good friend of my broke his neck at the track and died there in front of his wife and son. But he would rather be dead (a Christian) then paralyzed. Only people who have lined up at the gate and raced motos understand the love of it. It's like a drug addiction but everyone is going to the hospital no matter how good you are. If you don't take yourself out then someone else will.

People have bikes, pickups, RVs, land yachts, trailers, can afford to travel all over the country just to go racing. America has bounced back quickly after covid, and the economy is doing fine. So, if you or Hannah believe all of Tramp's lies and are that gullible to fall for all his doom and gloom rhetoric and how we're not going to have a country and everything's falling apart, so vote for me, then you probably had a few too many concussions doing face plants. If Hannah likes Tramp, it because they both have such huge egos and very little humility. I went through Detroit. Felt safe, it's clean, nice downtown. The econmy's doing fine. We don't "do what we want" anymore in the USA. We can only do what we are allowed to do. If that is the past times that we enjoy, recreation, that we still have a little control over. But for one example of thousands, if you want to make a car, to compete with that nationalized industry,-------as Tucker and Delorian found out, you can't "do what you want". Now Tucker and Honda were en cut from the same industrial cloth, and Honda now is huge. So I ask, if our own congress did not destroy Tucker to keep him from competition, how much opportunity would he have created, one man, in the USA? We do not do "what we want" anymore. We can only do what we are allowed. It is called a dictatorship.

The C1 & C2 vertebrae are so tiny that your pinky finger is much thicker! Inside of those tiny bones is your spinal column. The average head weighs 16 pounds. Now consider the 16 pounds flying through the air & coming to abrupt stop. NECK PROTECTORS MUST BE MANDATORY. Remember Bailey. He wasn't wearing a neck protector.
