I'd never heard of these before now. Looks ok. Best thing is the table top next to the sink, that's sometimes quite an issue in small hotel bathrooms, where to put your stuff.
The room looks well done and clean. I will admit I felt claustrophobic, just looking at your video of it. I now have a compulsion to open a window, and stick my head outside.
I had looked at a PI Hub in Westminster a few years ago. But as I was staying a week I kind of discounted it as I thought it might be too small (as I would also spend evenings in) so I booked a regular sized room at a normal PI.
I stayed in a Premier Inn Hub in Central London recently. I have to say my experience was similar. Very comfortable and practical for a solo travel. They are really well thought out.
Well for a short stay what more do you need? I always take an extension cable with multiple outlets often it's a job to plug anything in but your well catered for here. I would prefer more traditional controls than touch screen as you wouldn't need to see the screen. Liked the under bed storage👍👍 A really great review and good advert for them. Well done, have a great weekend.
I stayed at the one in Edinburgh haymarket. So much better than easy hotel. Free tea/coffee, great shower , breakfast. Staff were lovely. For 68 pound a night including breakfast for 2 can't go wrong
@@boozytortoise I guess because it's February. I stayed in the Rose Street one in May 2019, 4 nights, for ~£120. Stayed there last year, in September, and I paid £421.50! I was actually supposed to stay May then too, but I moved it because of the rail disruption, the difference in price was minimal though.
@Bungle2010 post covid Hotel prices have gone crazy. I payed neatly 100 for 1 night in an easy hotel and they never used to be above 50. You can still get a bargain occasional but generally its crazy
It's the budget hotel/airline model. There's a continually increasing fare as the rooms/seats are sold, so the first ones to sell are cheap, then it goes up from there until the last ones sold are really quite expensive. Obviously in the off season you're more likely to get a cheaper room!
That's quite impressive, Ideal for short stays but I wouldn't want to stay in one of those for 10 weeks when I'm working on a contract around the Christmas period each year! I quite like the compact utilitarian features but it's the high tech touch screen controls that sold me!
that Premier inn room looks amazing & that room would def suit me as a solo traveller & in fairness that def would suit solo traveller more brilliant vlog
That is a coincidence as I stayed in the same one last year when I visited Edinburgh. Was impressed with the room, had a larger one although on my own further up the building. Definately recommend if you're after something cheaper but don't want to go Hostelling.
Neat, and rather stylish. I like that wall street map. Continental breakfast only is a downer for me. Croissant and orange juice, I mean that's a starvation diet. I wonder if the intention is that you go elsewhere for your breakfast, or is it a way of 'upselling' to the restaurant.
Travel quite frequently for work and always find the Premier Inns to be reliable, clear and comfortable. Not the poshest or anything like that, but reliable. That looks like it is built from prefabricated pods, built in the factory and stacked on site, a bit like cruise cabins. Was involved in design/build of one like that in Glasgow (Citizen M, IIRC) at it basically arrived on the back of a wagon and was lifted straight into position and plugged in ... just a minimal core structure, the 'pods' made stacked on top of each other. Good for a night but I wouldn't like to stay longer.
Now that was interesting because I have seen those before, but I'm a bit wary of size, so go for larger places. But fair to say, now that I've seen it on screen with a walkabout, I may consider it in the future. Just a little additional question.... Where in Scotland was that... As I would love to giggle at the people walking backwards 😂
Apart from hating bowl style sinks and not loving very enclosed spaces, that looks very nice. I've been in worse hotel rooms that were much bigger, in fact.
Enjoyed the video but couldn't tell if the bed was a single, midsize, double or kingsize. Was it designed for 2 people? Looked like you'd have to clamber over the other person if it was.
For a night or two, these would be fine - looks modern and clean - wouldn’t want a week in one though! How does it compare price wise to a “normal” holiday inn?
I've used them a few times in London now, staying for several days each time. The (partly-)reflective walls make it feel more spacious than it actually is (similar to mirrors). Also the TV was always off when I checked in 😅 All in all, I've been quite happy with them!
P.S.: my room size, every time, was definitely the same as yours as shown. But my windows always looked out on random other bits of buildings at height - so I didn't feel overly exposed :D
Bet you can't use the TV Screen for your laptop or phone via the HDMI or Cast? Every time I stay in a PI, they never work and/or disabled. Pretty disappointing.
How much was ot though??? Its properly best not to encourage thiese types of rooms otherwise every room will became one - twice as many rooms in a given building.
The good thing is once you’ve stayed in one you know what you will be getting. I stayed in one. Would happily stay again.
I wrote operation manuals and users guides for these Premier Inn Hubs a few years back. Nice to see the places in operation!
very nice video Rebecca, looks so clean , well done and thank you 😊😍
Clean, monsoon shower, continental breakfast - well that's most of my boxes ticked.
almost missed this one! another great Rebecca video - thank you for the share
Wow! They have packed a lot into a very small space! Hope you enjoyed your stay up here.
For a single overnight or short stay, it looks all very neat and functional. Thank you.
What a super place. Everything you need and so clean. Great review Rebecca. Thank you.
I'd never heard of these before now. Looks ok. Best thing is the table top next to the sink, that's sometimes quite an issue in small hotel bathrooms, where to put your stuff.
Looks a great place for a short break, I’ll definitely give one a go. Thanks for the review.
Good review Rebecca. Now you have got me wondering how i would recreate that map 😕.

Thank you, a very helpful review. I usually avoid them because I thought they seemed very poky but they actually look ok.
Brilliant video Rebecca, they are good places for a overnight stay or two
Good video Rebecca, and good insight to what a hub room looks like :)
I stayed in that Hub in Edinburgh. I've stayed in one in London too, just off Trafalgar Square. Such good locations!
I stayed in a Premier Inn Hub in Central London recently. I have to say my experience was similar. Very comfortable and practical for a solo travel. They are really well thought out.
Premier Inns are my go-to for work travel and weekends away. Never tried a Hub though, looks good 👍
Well for a short stay what more do you need?

When was this. Prices are astronomical these days.
@Bungle2010 last Friday 16th Feb 2024..58 room plus 10 for breakfast. I was quite surprised as well at the price

Hadn’t heard of a Hub before but that looked lovely! (I’m from the States)
i've stayed in this one, my wife and I loved it!
That is a coincidence as I stayed in the same one last year when I visited Edinburgh. Was impressed with the room, had a larger one although on my own further up the building. Definately recommend if you're after something cheaper but don't want to go Hostelling.
I'm absolutely loving all these videos!

Not for everyone but perfect for the right situation and person.

Currently the hub is only in Edinburgh. Not the haymarket one, so either rose Street or Royal mile
@@boozytortoise Thanks 🙏
@@boozytortoise No they're in London too. In fact most of them are in London.
@Bungle2010 aye I know. But he asked were in svotland it was
The room reminded me of a Japanese inspired hotel I stayed at in NYC. Tiny and efficient.
Apart from hating bowl style sinks and not loving very enclosed spaces, that looks very nice. I've been in worse hotel rooms that were much bigger, in fact.
Well done Rebecca! What about the price compared to a normal hotel X 🌹⭐️⚔️👏🌍

Reminds me a bit of a ferry cabin…

That does look alright I'll admit. :)
I would consider it
Thank you for the video. I wonder about where it was and the price?
Ooh Edinburgh. I know where you stayed.
Where abouts was this please Rebecca? Looked great for a short stay, also what's the price compared with a standard Premier inn room in the same area?

I didn't even know hubs were a thing!
Small and perfectly formed.
How much was it is the key question?
Bet you can't use the TV Screen for your laptop or phone via the HDMI or Cast? Every time I stay in a PI, they never work and/or disabled. Pretty disappointing.
Price?
😀
Did I miss something? What are the room rates?
I’ve just seen the price, and given it’s a compact room I’d expect the price to reflect that - seems not 😬
How much did it cost compared to other local hotels?
Not sure about the glass walls on the bathroom.
Ok if you're on your own. Which is probably the whole ethos of these rooms, for single travellers.
How much was ot though??? Its properly best not to encourage thiese types of rooms otherwise every room will became one - twice as many rooms in a given building.
cheap and cheerful
Biggest issue with a hub ...they are all in town centres, ideal if you are arrving by train, but no parking at all ...
Get the train.
@@Bungle2010 I do when possible, not always possible ... trains don't got everywhere ..
@@davidioanhedges Both London and Edinburgh have excellent rail links.
I remember when the first hub was launched. At the time I wondered how it would feel to use one - and now I've seen this I have a much better idea.
No need to guess which city you were in.
They're sockets on the wall, not plugs.
