Lviv is significant city for both Ukrainian and Polish history.
It was named after image of golden lion on blue field, that was on coat of arms of Daniel Romanovich of Galicia, king of Ruthenia (one of predecessor states of modern Ukraine).
Daniel of Galicia was one of very few rules, that not just fought back against Mongolian invasions, but won.
No wonder, that after his descendants build a new capital for their growing kingdom, they decided to immortalise their ancestors by name city after animal on their coat of arms.
And because Ruthenians are also one of predecessors for modern Polish people, Poland (and later Austria-Hungary, under name Lemberg) continued to develop city and modernise it with latest architectural and technological marvels through history.

Red and Black flag is so-called “nationalistic flag of Ukraine”.
If Blue and Yellow symbolise peaceful sky over prosperous land, Red and Black symbolise spelled blood of defenders and enemies, that got socked into Ukrainian land.
For modern Ukrainians Red and Black flag is a symbol of sacrifice and mourning.
Both combinations of colours were in use since the Dawn of Zaporozhian Cossacks.
But most predominantly got use by Ukrainian insurgents in Western Ukraine since late 19th century.

37:18 Its a French army hat called a "Kepi" and its been in use with the French army since the 1830's in one form or another till the 1940's when it was disused and then brought back in the 1990's, except the French Foreign Legion, who seem to have always had it since 1830.
The one LP is wearing is the same design as De Gaulle used to wear, it wasn't a unique one he had which is supriseing given De Gaulles ego, it was a General of Divisions Kepi i believe but don't quote me.

Thanks for reacting to this video, can you react next to a four part series on a channel called sarcasmatron about the background of the war in Ukraine it’s one of the best explanations of the context behind the whole situation

    Nah.
This is “USSR. 60th anniversary of October (actually November) Revolution.”
In November 1917 Reds overthrow previous (February) revolution government and took power in Saint Petersburg and Moscow.
    Anniversary took place in 1977.
No wonder such poster is left in Chernobyl exclusion zone.

46:17 Well apprently part of the city are actually falling to pieces now and i think in a livestream LP and History of Everything did say that they had to be careful in part because they were close to punching through the floor its so weakened.

great video broski really enjoyed this ep,BTW around 14:16 i think among many other things the fact that our architecture in the west, let it be the USA or holland, the united kingdom or germany is turning into absolute hot soviet looking garbage is because the reins have been been held by quasi communists or other trash architects since the end of world war two. i think it has many reasons why our architecture collectively is dogshit nowadays (especially the glass cubes with green washed around it for ''sustainability'' which is the next big thing here)

I dont know why but as a person who lives in one of the countries that belonged to the eastern bloc, I must be the only one that likes the soviet brutalist architecture. Its truly something that speaks to me and is a real vibe.. whenever I feel down low I just put on Molchat Doma songs and walk around the communist style apartment buildings in my town. I know, its not pretty to live in those but I think theres a benefit to it. Living in such a place gives you the ability to be humble and appriciate the small things in life rather than race towards wealth like americans.. (no offense)

I imagine nostalgia is a big part. You grow up with it then it becomes sentimental.

I have a reaction recommendation for you HardThrasher made a four series on the Battle Of Britian and i think they would be good for a reaction and be intresting for you, while also seeing how the British establishment can manage to mess something up so easily.

5:28 Those aren't the worst places for contaminated clothes by the way, the hospital where all the fire crews went after the inital explosion has a locker where their gear was thrown in and it sets the counters off like crazy

Was it the white feather movement U were thinking of? If so yes it was a thing but you're overstating the effect it had and how seriously it was taken the vast majority of the time by a massive amount.
Most of the time it was just older women trying to shame men into signing up by calling them out as cowards publicly. Also I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was mostly just a WW1 thing, and happened all over the Commonwealth.

Yes this is the movement I'm talking about!
