- The Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway is an under-construction 210 km long 12-lane (Delhi to EPE & 6-lane access controlled expressway in India with operational speed limit of 100 kmph (Designed for vehicular movement at 120 kmph) between Delhi and Dehradun. The expressway is spread across the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and passes through cities such as Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli and Saharanpur.It also has two additional spurs - 50.7 km long 6-lane Saharanpur-Roorke-Haridwar Expressway and 121 km long 6-lane Ambala-Shamli Expressway.

Of Kaluwala seems way ahead. It’s really good and all contractors achieve defined targets must be rewarded. If we look at this section it seems work is almost complete. Had it been done in same way in other phases nh could have been opened for public by end of this year itself but Abhi Delhi bahut bahut duur hai.

Can you please confirm if the highway had paved shoulders? All I can see is dirt/ rocky shoulders which should not be the case for a national highway let alone a normal highway! This is a glaring omission from the contractor and NHAI.
Although I am enthusiastic about the new highways/ expressways being built, I cannot help but feel sad at the sorry state of our road construction rules & regulations. Poorly designed and integrated entry exit points/ ramps that are dangerous, poor drainage (water logging in rainy season), uneven surfaces with undulations, subpar construction material, jarring expansion joints on bridges, poorly designed and unscientific loops in interchanges along with non existent paved shoulders. We may be adding thousands of kms of highways & expressways in the country but the quality remains bad. We cannot compete with international standards like this and our road minister does not have the right to call our infrastructure world class!
Suggestion - Mohit bhai, can you please make a new series on pointing out design and quality issues with these new highways & expressways and point out road rules & regulations too. This would educate your viewers and also maybe reach someone in the govt so that they start focusing on these issues?
