learned the spoon trick from simply yearrrrs ago, it has since expanded to include forks butter knives keys scissors other cans teeth chopsticks tweezers giving up and asking someone else to do it for me
I use the side of my thumb! Set the side of your thumb between the rim of the can and the tab and you can get just enough leverage to open it without your nails being harmed.
I've always used the side of my thumb, and I didn't realize until recently that that's not how everyone does it (with or without nails). I've had long nails for basically my whole life so that's just how I'm used to living and it doesn't even occur to me how some things I do are "adapted" for long nails
I actually have a little keychain tool with a slot for opening can tabs, and then another part that opens plastic soda bottles. Its really helpful for when I have acrylics😂 I got it as a free little thing from a booth at a convention
Use the side of your index finger. I had acrylic nails for over 10 years and that was the first thing I figured out was how to open a can without using a nail.
ok i figured this out a while ago.. but if yall have long nails and wear rings regularly and need to open a can you and slightly slide the ring like mid finger and use that to pop open a tab can! works great for me and i use it often! 😊
My nail lady gave me a gadget that opens them when you're out and about. It's super cute and works well getting under the ring pull. No more broken nails for me 😂
Ngl I did this too but I'm the opposite. I have a bad habit of biting my nails so I never have long nails. So opening can is hard that's why I use this method too 🤣
tab buddies exist! they're a fantastic accessibility tool that you slide onto the tab of your can, then lift up the tab buddy for easy drink access. they even have an XL version for canned foods! (definitely not an ad lol, i just genuinely love their product 💚)
I have a special tool i got after a roommate left it behind. LOL. I only use it with the really hard cans, like soup... But now its hardier with my tween getting into nails. Her skin is fragile for the thumb trick yet. She isn't a 1990's kid, her skin is built different. LOL. (Link in the comments for anyone curious, if you have mobility issues and a spoon may not work due to injury.)
Hair and eyebrows are looking flawless 🤌🏻
Ys thick eyebrows suits her so well

forks
butter knives
keys
scissors
other cans
teeth
chopsticks
tweezers
giving up and asking someone else to do it for me
Not the teeth!!😭🫣😬 Sacrifice a nail before a bone that can't regrow!
@@msdouglas12100funny thing is bones regrow! Teeth aren't considered bones because they don't re-calcify like bones do!
@@squiddlebeans so even worse to use teeth to open a can!!
@@squiddlebeans also thanks for the info😀
TEETH?? 😂 honey noo don’t Chip a tooth be careful! 😂
I just walk over to my bf and make a sad face “help my nails are wet” 🥺
Omg, her hair looks so pretty!! I love the middle part!!!
They look so good here omg😮but Simply's arms are literal goals😍❤
You look incredible!
I use the side of my thumb! Set the side of your thumb between the rim of the can and the tab and you can get just enough leverage to open it without your nails being harmed.
That’s the way, my dude 👍
I do this too!
I've always used the side of my thumb, and I didn't realize until recently that that's not how everyone does it (with or without nails). I've had long nails for basically my whole life so that's just how I'm used to living and it doesn't even occur to me how some things I do are "adapted" for long nails
my preferred method is with a tab buddy 🥰
i genuinely love you so much for sharing this but god i wish i were responsible enough to implement it 😭
You can also use the bottom of another can 🤯
at work, i always use my staple remover lol
I actually have a little keychain tool with a slot for opening can tabs, and then another part that opens plastic soda bottles. Its really helpful for when I have acrylics😂 I got it as a free little thing from a booth at a convention
I usually just use the side of my thumb, but this seems like a good idea 😊
Important life skill unlocked
Use the side of your index finger. I had acrylic nails for over 10 years and that was the first thing I figured out was how to open a can without using a nail.
I’ve been watching your channel for like nearly 10 years and yet, you look like your aging backwards 10 years! Looking beautiful as always
ok i figured this out a while ago.. but if yall have long nails and wear rings regularly and need to open a can you and slightly slide the ring like mid finger and use that to pop open a tab can! works great for me and i use it often! 😊
I have unpolished long nails and I just use the pad of my middle finger or sometimes my index. Spoon trick is definitely interesting...
i face the opening thingy away from me and use the side of my thumb lol
You can also open a van with the bottom of another can. Blew my mind when I tried it, but my nails have been saved forever.
You should totally team up with TabBuddy
Except when I’m somewhere I don’t have access to a spoon. Or fork. Or anything but my nails. Sometimes we’ve just got to take one for the team.
your keys?
Corners of furniture?
A credit/ debit card?
I use my keys all the time! 😊
ngl i just ask someone else to open it 🤷♂️ what are friends for?
Also hair ties and keys work well
My first thought after seeing the title was "get someone else to do it!" 😂
I’ve been doing this for years since your “don’t use your nails as tools” PSA ❤ P.S. love the fresh cut 💁🏻♀️
My nail lady gave me a gadget that opens them when you're out and about. It's super cute and works well getting under the ring pull. No more broken nails for me 😂
I either go for side of thumb or any flat object in reach keys cutlery whatever it’s fair game.
Sides of fingers/thumb work just as well
I actually have a gadget for pull tabs and other types of cans, but I don't think they make them anymore
This is also great for young people getting their first bar jobs!! Especially working can bars at festivals!! Trust me! ❤
Or if you don’t have a spoon on hand try to use the side of your knuckle
She looks remarkably similar to her sister in this one I think, she and Jen never looked so similar to me before
paint can openers from home improvement stores are really cheap and cost less than a dollar in the us!
Paint can openers work too. My ma has one in a drawer in the kitchen and that is its sole purpose
Ngl I did this too but I'm the opposite. I have a bad habit of biting my nails so I never have long nails. So opening can is hard that's why I use this method too 🤣
I use the end of the spoon lift up and good to go.😊
i use quarters!
You can also use a butter knife or fork!
You can also use a knife and once its pried up enough you can open it the rest of the way with your fingers
That's a lotta yerba!
Omg she cut her hairrrr I haven’t seen any of her videos in a while
It’s how I opened cans as a kid cause my fingers were weak
if you dont have a spoon, use your key.
I use everything lying around. Cutlery, pens, my nail buffer, etc etc everything tk not break off my stick on nails
I use an old key for opening cans on the go 🏃♀️
Use the bottom of another can to open it. No silverware required!
You can also use keys
So you can also open a can with another can , that’s what the ring on the bottom of the can is for
But I only drink from cans when I'm out and about.
Simply needs to create a product that's basically the end of a spoon on a keychain so people can keep it on them all the time
tab buddies exist! they're a fantastic accessibility tool that you slide onto the tab of your can, then lift up the tab buddy for easy drink access. they even have an XL version for canned foods! (definitely not an ad lol, i just genuinely love their product 💚)
I just broke my nails today opening this! 😢😢
I use a knife lol but spoon works
I have a special tool i got after a roommate left it behind. LOL. I only use it with the really hard cans, like soup... But now its hardier with my tween getting into nails. Her skin is fragile for the thumb trick yet. She isn't a 1990's kid, her skin is built different. LOL. Someone needs to learn about a church key
I just use the side of my knuckle
is Cris… DEAGING?
I usually use my teeth
Noooooooooo use another can! Lol
Or, and hear me out here. Use the bottom of another car. 💅
just use uour thumb?? like the skin not the nail
