- Sebastian Steudtner (GER) set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest wave surfed (unlimited) - male. As part of the Red Bull Big Wave Awards, the WSL has verified Sebastian Steudtner's 2021 Big Wave Award-winning ride as 86 feet (26.21 meters), which was caught at Praia do Norte in Nazaré, Portugal on October 29, 2020.

was at an award show 12 years ago and heard all the elite big wave guys openly make fun of sebastian, they were at least half serious because tow-in was at a very low point in coolness, and now he's got the biggest wave title lol so good for him

@@Dobertathon i think it’s all about a post in twitter where they say he broke the record with that number, and it spread all over the internet, just write 115 foot world record and it will appear. But i guess it was a mistake and it was 86 foot, as it was not posted in the official guinnes world record
@@beinghimself ur wrong this is recently and it’s the biggest wave of 2020. He broke his big record 5 years ago in 2018 on the 115 footer

People don't understand how hard this is, let alone with his physical deformity and handicap. Fair play. A perfectly normal, proportionate individual probably couldn't have done it any better, yet this man, with his enormous balls which make it hard enough to stand, let alone surf, managed just fine.

When you see a guy riding a wave like that, you have no reaction, you're just in awe and hoping the lad gets out. I have been there, while there werent 35m waves, there were 15m ones and that was my reaction as was most people there
Full disclosure: I have never surfed in my life and probably never will.
After watching this I felt incredibly small but very proud to be a human. That was one of the most amazing, incredibly brave( arguably stupid), recklessly awesome thing I have ever seen. Bravo sir, but for those who love and know you; don't ever do that again. You have nothing to prove anyone.
He keeps doing this for many years. That 's his profession. He left his parents' home for Hawaii to become a professional surfer when he was 16 or 17. He succeeded.
It's not about proving,
It's about living.

Chumbo is amazing but I wouldn’t put SS on the same level. Kai on the other hand…
Garrett is the Pioneer...while GOAT in its literal sense means "Greatest of All Time"...I believe sure maybe Garrett is not the G.O.A.T. by the literal definition. BUTTTTTT...in a sport like surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and a lot of "exrteme" sports...you have to take into account the artistry, the style, the type of surfer of skater they are. While Tony Hawk may be best Vert skater...there is 1000s who would make him look silly in technical street skating...but Tonys impact on the sport is HUGE. AS with Garrett...he is a pioneer of big wave/tow in surfing. Yeah there is better guys by the flat definition of 'GOAT' but overall impact and progressing the sport and gaining exposure....you could surely make an argument for Garrett along with several others.

For those who think this isn’t real his name is Sebastian Steudtner. The wave was actually 86ft or about 21ish meters. It happened back in 2020 on oct 20th
