  • They became pen pals by chance, but the friendship between teenagers Marianne Winter from Vienna and Jane Bomberger from Pennsylvania had life-saving consequences.
In 1938, the Winter family-who were Jewish-came under threat after the Nazi annexation of Austria. The Winters wanted to immigrate to the United States, but they needed an American to sponsor them financially. Marianne asked Jane if she knew anyone who could help. Jane’s response came as a total surprise.

This is a wonderful format for showing children in schools. This one is nice enough to be shown in primary schools. It would touch young children’s hearts without scaring them, maybe with a little ‘editing’ until they’ve aged a bit more. Thank you. I bet they stayed friends all their lives. 🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Heartwarming life events. Astounding people to help the Austrian family.
May both families and their descendants be blessed always for such kindness.🙏

It would be easier to hear if there wasn't this incessant background music.
