I was lucky enough to be studying art with Billie in the nineties. Seeing this I realise again what a bunch of picks the professors were, and how centered the young woman to rise in spite of them.
The way she talks about her son reminds me of how invaluable a mother’s love is. So beautiful. Also the shot of the books? I’m about to extend my reading list a bit!
The ability to create dimension like that with fabric art is uncommon and shows more than just a talented hand but a talented mind.
I saw her face and knew she was Malawian like me ❤️
