    Hey Lauren, to make your All-clad pans non-stick, heat the pan with nothing in it. Then add a drop of water. If it sizzles and evaporates, it’s not hot enough. Heat until a drop of water dances around but doesn’t evaporate. Then you can lower the heat, add butter, and your eggs will not stick. Enjoy! See you down the road!

    First I am very sorry about your problem. Your situation reminded me of the painful memories which I pad with two brand new airstream vans which I bought a couple years ago breakdown after breakdown. I finally took them back to the dealer and sold it back to them with almost $80,000 lost I have never consider airstream even if they give it to me for free today. I have a beautiful van from another company with wonderful and reliable quality. I wish you all the best.

    I feel for you guys. Unfortunately your time schedule didn’t allow for a thorough check out trip. On another note, Dawn Ultra Platinum Powerwash spray is great for RV’ing when you want to conserve water or wash dishes with minimal water. Cleans great! Fingers crossed for you guys on no more issues.

    OMG, I feel for ya. My daughter is traveling with us for the next 3 weeks, and she turned on the toilet rinse and not the flush, and it stuck open
    We woke up in the morning with the front half of the rv flooded. We were tilted a little, and thankfully, most of the water ran out of the RV via the stair well. We were scared it would ruin our electric as the batteries are under the stairs. Thank goodness everything is ok, and I hope the same for you

    I put avacado oil in my all clad pans, always. Also, with eggs, add a little water and don’t cook on too high of a temp. Preheat your skillet, drop some water-if it dances it’s ready to cook. If you do scorch or burn something, keep pan on heat and add water to boil off, then scrub. May need to use some barkeepers friend if it’s really bad. With all clad, the tip is to not use high heat.

    Here is the main tip for the pan....it looks stainless and I had the same problems with mine and I love them but I learned to heat that pan up so very hot first before you cook in it everytime and then add your oil or butter and what you want to fry, for me it was the eggs and it works...heat super hot first and then turn down and do your thing. I hope this wasn't confusing. This Old dog learned a new trick....something about the pan is porous and the heat closes the pores????

  • @FittingInAdventure

    The trick to non-stick eggs in a stainless steel pan is heating the pan first. Heat with nothing in it until water beads dance. Then add butter and cook eggs. Also, always always add Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute. Doesn’t help with sticking but is just delicious. Good luck! - Angela

    I’m interested in seeing if this is really the Timberline system or just simply a leak in the water line connected to the water pump. We are Classic 30 owners and contemplating moving to a 24 GT E1, so this channel is really interesting. A couple things we do in the trailer that we’d do here too. Turn off the water pump when not actively using it. Continuous running of the pump with no water faucet on would indicate some leak, so I’d immediately turn it off & then drain the fresh water tank to take away that source of liquid input. I’d put water sensors strategically at connection points. Good luck and I look forward to seeing the root cause. Shouldn’t have happened, but you’ll get it all sorted and dried out!

  • @titomesserli26
    @titomesserli26 11 місяців тому +4

    We have the same Timberline system in our 2022 Grech Terreno-Ion. Since the Timberline system just heats the water and/or van, a primary an secondary system, primary being the glycol that is heated and via heat transfer heats the water/Van (secondary system being the water), I doubt the problem is with that system, but simply a leak in your water lines some place that once it occurred your water pump sensed the drop in pressure an turned on, leaking water all over the back of your van. Just curious, does the leak occur if hooked up to park water with the pump off? Might help you narrow down the source of the leak. We feel your pain an disappointment, you should not or would not expect to have to deal with such issues with a van like that, but things happen, no matter how much/little you pay for an RV. Just try to view it through your sons eyes, he seems quite happy!

    • @shenandoahhills7263
      @shenandoahhills7263 11 місяців тому

      Some good points. Most folks will have a water pressure gauge to check the campground water pressure. The high pressure has the potential to blow out your water lines. This couple seems to have taken off without all of the required necessities. No tool kit, no dog bone connector, no water pressure gauge or limiter, ect. Did they have a 30amp tester/surge protector, and an inline water filter? The dealer will usually recommend most of these items since they normally will have them for sale in their retail camping store.

  • @geneblast
    @geneblast 11 місяців тому +1

    As far as your pan is concerned, looks like it’s a stainless steel all clad pan… Good quality… The trick is with stainless steel and eggs… Well, you need to warm up the pan out a little bit less than medium, let the Pan warm up for at least 7-8?minutes. If you’re using butter oil put that down, then the eggs, you could cover with a small lid if you baste them… The point is don’t turn the pan on high! Lower temperatures mean no stick eggs… Good luck with the water issue.

      @@Wanderlocal I am so sorry that this happened and that you're not getting more support in these comments. I have a Entegra Odyssey and it has had recurring slide room problems that I'm just about to get fixed. I bought it used with 4500 miles on it about 18 months ago. No warranty as a result.
      I've spent $6,000.00 on that repair and another $16,000.00 putting 4 solar panels (800 Watts total on it) and 4 100 AH Lithium Ion Batteries. So, I'm certainly aware of what it takes to get these things up and running. Now that I'm almost done with that process, it is working great.
      I, like you, just liked the unit so I kept it and did the work to fix it up and upgrade it to what I needed. I don't blame you for doing the same and I would also understand if you threw in the towel on the Van. I did think that you guys were biting off a bit more than you could chew with a new family and that much downsizing, but... Hey... It is your life and I don't have to live it... You do. Sorry your luck has been so bad on this and whatever you decide to do, it'll all work out.

      Surely you haven’t got to manage till next month without hot water, and a baby, that’s awful. I agree with most of the suggestions for your pan, induction is very hot, you only need half the temperature and wipe with oil before use, then add your butter, hope that helps. I can recommend a Ninja Soeedi Airfryer it’s great for cooking nearly everything, don’t know where you’d store it, mine just sits on top of the hob, I don’t use oven or hob now I’ve got it, also the microwave makes scrambled eggs really quickly. Can you not heat water in a pan to wash up in, we have electric kettles, that work on low volts as well, we always heat water in a kettle in the UK.😂 I do hope you can get your very expensive van sorted, before next month.

We have had a few minor issues with the van but zero issues with the Timberline system. We love our Grech, great customer service, but we also own an Airstream Travel trailer, 2011 FlyingCloud 27FB. We can’t really comment on Airstreams customer support since in the 12 years we’ve owned the trailer we have had no major issues with it that required a service call.

      Grech also has the timberline system in their rv's. None of them are trouble free. Grech has their own issues. One would expect that a $300,000 van would be well sorted and trouble free, but most will find that s shakedown cruise is required to sort things out. This is not like buying an automobile where their production lines are highly automated and quality controls are very stringent.

    I don’t know if you can return it. If not maybe you can sell and get most of your money back. Get a fifth wheel instead. That van is very expensive for this to already be happening. Lemon, maybe something can be done. Good luck 👍🏼

    You definitely got bombarded with issues in such a short amount of time. Isn’t Daniel that thought van life would be easier? Lol. All you can do is tackle one thing at a time. I would go to the dealership at this point. Body work, pump, mild remediation, creaks etc.

    That's rediculos to have that much water in your van. It's time to take it back and go back to the airstream that is watertight with top & bottom pieces & all those rivets. It's time to take it back.

    Have you ever looked at a 19’ airstream Caravel travel trailer! If you wanted something smaller for traveling I would definitely consider going back to truck or suv and trailer, even though you like the convenience of the van, but $300k is an awful lot of money to spend on a lemon - which happens with cheaper rigs but it’s so crazy for expensive ones. I would be so afraid of mold issues next and the smell of musty carpet yuck - sure makes for interesting UA-cam content 🤷🏼‍♀️ . It’s so sad all the issues you are having

    This is not a cheap vehicle by any means. Glad you have great attitudes, but I cannot see how anyone can get behind that vehicle with confidence. So much money and so many problems. Is this really a new vehicle? What is going on?

    To reseason the pan- after it’s clean heat it on the stove, cool it and lightly oil it w paper towel. You should do this frequently or before storing it. When using it heat it before adding butter or oil. Best to get non stick or ceramic pan for eggs if induction safe. Lady in Idaho told me the multimillionaires moved out the millionaires in Jackson Hole & WY in general. Now it’s the billionaires. Beautiful country though. ✌️🌸

    That carpet has to be dried. It will have a musty smell and mold spores if not done correctly. You sure don't want that on top of everything else.

    @airstream needs to step up. You have giving them so many good reviews and they need to take care of you without making you come back East. If they do not I would start a lawsuit because this has to be an issue brand wide
