Emperor Emhyr Var Emreis = Charles Dance?
I guess the Emperor sends his regards then...
A Lannister sits on the throne always... until a young, ashen haired woman of prophesy will take it from him.
And his son will dance upon his grave, thus making him the son that danced upon the one who dances upon the graves of his foes.
Sarf the emhry fucks siri or the nobles of nilfgaard kills her.
You can hear Roche's voice actor everywhere. He dubs almost all civilians and bandits.
João Aguiar I played Dragon Age right before this, so all I ever hear is Blackwall who did like dozens and dozens of characters in this.
I'm impressed Troy Baker didn't participate.
XDarkAllNightX
Me too. This makes me think they'll put him in one of the expansion packs or something.
XDarkAllNightX one of the rare moments when he isn't stealing the spotlight.
XDarkAllNightX No Troy Baker, Steve Blum, Jennifer Hale, or Nolan North. Weird!
Damn it, I was sure the bloody Baron was voiced by the same guy who plays King Robert Baratheon on Game of Thrones
Yeah, they do look alike. Even Yennifer, I was *so* sure she was voiced by Lena Headey, who plays Cersei in GoT.
Rogier Vonk they are alike in many ways too. Both have a hot temper (thus the moniker of "bloody baron"), love hunting and sport and are natural warriors, though Phillip is much much more of a family man than Robert. Robert also was significantly more lustful while Strenger was loyal, albeit abusive
Right?? I was _shocked_ when I looked it up and saw it wasn't him. Plus, his appearance and personality are so similar.
Where's Trollololo the troll?
Assassino275 I think he means who does the voice acting.. thanks for making a few of us scour your channel for nothing.
Emperor Tywin var Emreis, the White Lion that Dances on the Debts of his Enemies. Easy to confuse those two. Also, the Bloody Baron's voice actor makes such a terrific Robert Baratheon impression, I was convinced it was Mark Addy at first. Even their characters are somewhat similar. Great voice acting in this game, huge improvement over past titles. Well done, CD Projekt.
Veloziraptor111 Actually Emryes have a banner similar to the House Karstark, and you are right the voice actor of The Bloody Baron really do a very good Mark Addy impresion, it almost it was Robert Baratheon 2.0.
The scene with Uma and Emhyr was so similar to Tyrion and Tywin's scenes.
''-I gave you all the information and my best spies. And you brought me this monstrosity!''
+Veloziraptor111 I thought I was the only one who assumed the Bloody Baron was Mark Addy. I almost wish it was him.
+TyrStark96 This game definitely have some Game of thrones vibes in it.
This game has the best voice acting i've heard in years honestly... the bloody baron is amazing, i'm replaying the game for the third time and i always listen to the whole dialog because it's so good
It's interesting how the Witcher characters look slightly similar to the voice actors
Not at all. It's your mind looking for similarities and discarding the differences. Your perception changing to fit expectations.
AncientTales i know what i can see. Nothing to do with my mind looking for similarities.
AncientTales That is true, but hey, Code7 has a point. Some look similar, but only a few, of course.
Why does the Bloody Baron sound so much as Robert Baratheon from Game of Thrones ?
It's so weird i thought they had the same actor
Denise Gough has a unique voice. Therein lies a soft quiver that I have never witnessed in a female voice before! 😄
One of my favourite lines in the game is still:
'Fancy a swift kick in the arse?!'
"Stop your whining or I'll lace your corset up so tight you'll shit your bloomers"
*Characters and Voice Actors - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt*
Updated video: ua-cam.com/video/g3OBgmxVirE/v-deo.html
*Characters and VA video with Polish VO coming soon.*
SemagTlovit Geralt's "original" voice is awesome. *my language so beautiful* :D
Best voice acting in years, these people deserve more recognition.
And introducing Mark Lewis Jones as
Pan per an
Pan pan per an
Pan per AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN
***** Best line in the whole game!!! I find myself singing it when I'm bored at work LOL
Barb Davey lol I love when I'm grinding on some treasure hunt and I hear the randowm drunk.
+Dylan Cantwell (DylanTheVillain9) Also:
''You're as pale as outy shite''
'''*Farts* Huohuohuohuo!''
Denise Cough and Yennefer's both have magical eyes.. this is a magical game ;)
Ciri had the best voice in this game, so hot.
+Gregory Alan Bailey I agree. On Star Wars the Old Republic as an Imperial Agent she doesn't sound quite the same. Impressive to be honest.
+Gregory Alan Bailey I was kinda partial to Keira Metz. Now that I've seen who does her voice (Katie McGuinness), I'm even more partial. :-)
+Gregory Alan Bailey Personally thought her voice acting was one of the worst. It's weird how forced her voice is, and how she kinda exhales after every phrase
Ciri's voice actor surprised me, like a thought she'd be younger. But overall, the voice acting in this game is spot on, I even at times, replay certain scenes because of the voicing, just beautiful. And a quick question to all, who's your favourite Witcher 3 character? Mines Ciri.
BOWDOWN connell Red Baron. So much character development, and reminds me strongly of Robert Baratheon. Yeah he's gotta be one of my favs
Best Voice Acting I have ever head, both in a game and in animations/films. You feel and empathise with the characters. Something that is hard to achieve. Thank you CD!
You gotta give respect for CD Projekt Red. The best game of 2015 has no mainstream VAs (Troy Baker, Nolan North, Laura Bailey, etc.) at all
Those aren't the only people who can do great voice acting, the only reason they get work is because their agents work to get them it.
funtourhawk I said mainstream. I never said anything about them being bad
Raver1601 I would rather have them than the likes of John Schwab who's wooden acting and out of place accent almost ruin the damn game.
Raver1601 Jo Wyatt is not particularly mainstream but she's a recognizable voice/face in gaming voice overs. She did Dragon Age for example
Sooo...who voiced Uma?
+Chasing Chickens According to some sources, it's Michael Maloney (Avallac'h).
Emhyr Var Emreis or Tywin Lannister? #TheGreatQuestions
BoySyndicate666 A lion still has claws. And mine are long and sharp my lord, as long and sharp as yours!
Watching Denise Gough's scenes in Andor and I can't help but hear Yen's voice.
Man i just finished the game
and now im so sad and happy at the same time :(
Awesome .Priscilla is a Loki sister.
dudu and his voice actor looks the same lol
Oh, how much I waited for this video... thank you Teddy! Doug and Charles has a best voices)
I need one video like this one including the new expansions *~*
Great video man!
The Female Hawke from Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition is Ciri? Well that's interesting, but honestly Charles Dance as Emhyr makes this game even more epic.
The voice actor for the Baron was excellent. Using his voice he conveyed exactly what his character was feeling which really made you lose yourself in the game. His quest was very emotional too, especially the ending of it *SPOILER* where he hanged himself. Havent felt this many emotions when playing a game, ever.
it's incredibly amazing how the voices fit perfectly in the game characters, they did an impressive job.
3:21 : Radovid and his voice actor Lennon has exactly the same eyes.
Tywin Lannister voiced Emhyr? WHATTT
It's about time the voice actors that work on these titles of particular quality should get a more rounded recognition for their wonderful efforts.
- _Bravo!_
That's cheating! Charles Dance and Jo Wyatt??? You can't top that!!!
+Karim Miri yeah Jo wyatt is a great voice actress doe3s a great job in both the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games as well.
+sjsharp2007 Wait, I knew Ciri sounded familiar, but she's female Hawke in Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition? I never realised that
+Bus Stop i bet there's the arishok too ( Steven Hartley, if i am not mistaking)
I love Yen's voice!
I love the way voice actors so often look like their characters
This is one of the best voice acting I've ever seen in a game, and it looks like they put some effort in making some of the charactgers look like they voice actors.
i would love to go to a dinner with the voiceactress of yennefer. god that voice
As I am Polish I see that English voices were made in such a way to be as much similar as possible to original Polish dubbing. Good job! They sound great too! :)
Bless these people,
The people being the voices of a game that isn't even a game, it's another life - some guy on the steam reviews page that knows what's up
fantastic voice acting all around!
For those who don't know. Priscilla ( Emma Hiddleston ) is Loki ( Tom Hiddleston ) sister.

Yea you can retract your jaw now. lulz
Bethesda needs to take notes. Release an Elder Scrolls with the depth and the beauty of Witcher and you've got yourself a masterpiece.
Who would ever play a Elder Scrolls when a Witcher is around .... aaaah not me , im a tiger in Skyrim and since Geralt would want to kill me , he will get my arse kicked and sliced in a second XD The Witcher 3 the best game ever
I can't understand how can you compare two games like Elder Scrolls-Skyrim and Witcher 3 , the 1st one is released in 2011 and the other one 2015. If Bethesda had the resources that CD Project Red had to make a game 4 years later you probably would talk something completely different. And one more thing , more ppl are playing the Elder Scrolls-Skyrim in 2017 than the ones who play Witcher 3 , you actually have more replay value in Skyrim than Witcher 3 and the 1st game is 4 years older than the other. I love both games and i'm happy to live in times that brought me such masterpieces as those 2 games but can't compare them or say that i love one game more than the other.
who said i compared it to the witcher 3? The witcher 1 came out in 2007. The in depth story of the Witcher series is what i like. The elder scrolls has a good story as well, i just personally liked how the witcher told it. It probably has alot to do with Elder Scrolls having a silent protagonist. That just makes it feel like everyone else is telling me a story rather than me feeling like im a part of the story.
Each voice fits superbly its respective character. These voice actors acting is astonishingly good. Outstanding.
Awesome work !
Eredin's voice is so badass tho!
who voiced "found me pan have ye" old lady?
good video I was surprised of some of the actors, even on actor that use to be a bbc Wales programme
The bloody baron really stood out in this game. Complex, well written and well spoken
Are the characters similar to voice actors on purpose? Because some are really similar.
+Alsy I think it's quite a common thing to model characters after their voice actors. Makes the voice fit the character model more easily.
This can be an issue both in games and in dubbed versions of movies/tv series, etc. Sometimes the voice just doesn't seem to fit the person at all.
TheRobidog But the Witcher is originally in Polish with different voice actors so it makes no sense to intentionally draw characters like the English voice actors, does it?
Alsy I believe the game's primary language is still English. Just because that market is a lot bigger than the Polish one.
+TheRobidog Actually the game was developed in both languages at the same time, at least to my knowledge. But knowing the devs are a Polish company it was most likely localized from the Polish dialog into English.
Also, Polish is spoken by 40 million people so I wouldn't say that is necessarily a "smaller market".
However, I cannot find any place that states who are the voice actors of the Polish game. Maybe they are more similar than these people.
its actually, for some casters in dubbing, a very tried thing to cast people who looks like the character they're playing. i personally know one who does that mostly, 'cause it works :)
Love the voices of Triss, Ciri, Eskel, Zolten and Vesemir. William Roberts did and exceptional job on his performance with Vesemir. Very believable the way he read out his scripts I was on the edge of my seat thoughout the storytelling game of Witcher 3! Loved Geralts facial expressions throughout the game too, attractive!
holy hell I felt a chill run down my spine at eredins/steven hartley's voice!
Charles Dance being Emperor Emhyr is so appropriate, I can't even begin.
Geralts voice actor is the only one who doesn't look like he fits the voice
Damn, I wanted to see who voiced Thaler!
It's amazing how so many of the characters look like their voice actors. :)
Eredin's voice still gives me goosebumps
Had no idea Emhyr was Tywin!
every single voice of the characters of this game fits them so perfectly, wow!
Still playing it love it
Am I the only one who thinks that in game characters got something common with their voice actors ? not only voices ....
A man is in love with a girl named Ciri.
brilliant game and brilliant actors .. i just finished the main story and wanted to see who were the true faces behind the voices
thanks for the video
Tywin Lannister does an excellent job of portraying Charles Dance
Shagga likes axes.
I know the fandom is probably going to burn me for this...but...I can't stand Triss' voice. The actress just sounds so flat and harsh.
It's really distracting during her scenes. Everyone else in the game: the main cast, almost all the NPC's, and especially the Bloody Baron and the Emperor, are astounding!
It bothered me also. I haven't played Witcher 2 in a few years but I don't remember being displeased with her voice back then..
You're not alone. I didn't like it from the first moment I booted up TW2, and that dislike carried all the way to the end of TW3.
14DANESSJ Geralt was probably 80/20 hit/miss ratio for me. In some scenes, his voice was just too bland for me to enjoy it. At other times, the VA hit a just right area, where it had that typical gravelly badass tone, and its own unique tone as well.
Her and Dandelion, horrid wooden acting. At least Dandelion should've had an English accent. And I've felt Charles Dance was a bit out of place as Emhyr. Dunnk why, probably because I didn't imagine him so gruff in the books. Geralt was acted brilliantly though.
EXCELLENT VOICE ACTING!!!
I really really love avallach voice 😍, Michael you did a great job
CHARLES FUCKING DANCE HIMSELF.
Where's Uma? 😁
so much better voice acting from England good job !!!
I didn't even realized it was Charles Dance doing Emhyr's voice until I saw the name
Polish Dubbing is the best x2 :)
szer cze ok, it's a matter of preference, but I really like the polish voice of Geralt. This doesn't mean I don't like the english one. Both are true to the character and at the same time totally different. Funny, isn't it? 😉
szer cze when you dubb a game the lipsink is useally awful on other countries on Movies to
without a doubt, the best voice acting i have ever seen in a game, or anywhere for that matter.
It's amazing how some of the actors look just like the characters they play.
Is it just me or Geralt sounds a bit like Aiden Pearce from Watch Dogs
Dany1239 Well, he;s been out way longer then watch dogs so other way around maybe.
Dany1239 Well the Witcher games existed before Watch Dogs so I think maybe it should be the other way around but yeah they do sound similar. But it makes sense with Geralt because he's supposed to be stripped of emotions. The only Witcher who seems to have emotion in his voice is Lambert because he's always angry.
***** Oh so the mutations are done over time I thought they were done all at once. Well is that how it is during the book. Even though they are supposed to be stripped of emotions they seem to still have them they just have trouble showing it and sometimes they can make decisions without looking back.
Benjot Sumal
emember reading somewhere (or maybe it was in the game) that said Geralt is the only Witcher with white hair because of additional mutations. I'll try find a source.
All voice actors really fit the character's looks and personality well. Except for Ciri, in my opinion. Her voice seems to lack emotion and has too much excitement, even in gloomy situations.
+MsWannabeGamer Ⓥ she can move in travel and time, she knows how to fight and she knows some magic. there are no gloomy situations for her :)
Marek Kaczor She has lost several loved ones along the way and she has been betrayed over and over again. There are a lot of gloomy situations for her.
Did NOT realize how much these actors looked like their characters
I heard Charles Dance's voice in Underworld movie and I was like, damn that sounds SOOOO familiar, is that Emhyr? and damn it is!
Twin Lannister as Emhyr Var Emreis? now i know the cause i hate EMhyr :D
eng version sucks - polish voices acting is so much beter
***** It's not about the language, it's about quality of voice acting. Unfortunately Doug Cockle is in lower league than Jacek Rozenek (Geralt in Polish version). Doug is almost always bored as fuck, you just feel that he's reading.
Yet other Witchers show more emotion than he does despite having the same occupation and mutation...
It's funny how some of these really look like eachother.
I didnt realize until now that charles dance actually voiced emhyr lol. It fits him for sure
All perfect choices
Charles dance has a really iconic voice.
Most believe-able voice acting for character ever!! I felt as if they were a real person!
Doug Cockle totally owns it with his voice. If sometime a Witcher live action movie is made, i can't seen other person to play Geralt but him.
But the real question is, "Who voiced the trolls?"
+AdmiralPrice Angry Joe
+AdmiralPrice My co-workers :D
+AdmiralPrice My co-workers :D
nicolas cage
+AdmiralPrice Donald Trump.
IQs matched, so they simply had to hire him.
