If you feel inclined to watch One Piece anime, one bit of advice: DO IT AT YOUR OWN PACE. There will be a temptation to quickly upload reactions for the big numbers that often come associated with reacting to such a beloved story. If you feel comfortable with the risk of turning it into sort of a chore (an enjoyable one, but still a chore), by all means, upload them; but if you start to feel pressured, don't be afraid to just enjoy it on your own. Other than that, welcome to the fandom.
Tbh binging the show is HIGHLY recommended as I have noticed lots of reactors getting out of touch with the world and even getting bored...so reacting in high volumes is actually the way to go....but if they dont like it its upto them to stop..but breaks are definitily NOT recommended!
4:23 The Flying Dutchman was a part of several different folk tales and ghost stories starting (we think) from the 17th century about a ship that was cursed to sail the seven seas forever but to never make port anywhere. Then the name got used in Pirates of the Caribbean - along with names of actual pirates including Blackbeard (real name Edward Teach though others say his name was Edward Thatch, who allegedly put slow fuses in his beard to frighten enemies into thinking his beard was on fire - leaning into the 'mad devil' image, there's also a Blackbeard in One Piece), and Ching Shih (Mistress Ching in the third movie, her real name was Zheng Yi Sao though, and she was basically the most successful pirate in pirate history - basically commanded a whole fleet and managed to negotiate a surrender so that she could keep all her money and save the majority of her crew from imprisonment and a majority of those who were imprisoned from execution, opened up a gambling house on land and died an old lady in bed surrounded by family).
RE: Grand LIne/New World (no real spoilers) As Nami showed in the live action, the world is split into four parts. Think of it like so: (X) Both of those lines run around the world like two belts. One is the Red Line - the only continent in the world. The other is the Grand Line - a special ocean that runs around the world like a belt. Because they meet on a 90 degree axis, the Grand Line is cut in half - one of these is very hard to get to, called the New World. The four parts of the world that these two 'belts' split it into are all oceans - North Blue, South Blue, East Blue and West Blue. Through-out these oceans - and the Grand Line - are a multitude of islands, each with their own nations, histories, cultures and civilizations; many growing at their own rate - some are technologically advanced, others are stuck in the stone age, still others developed a lot like real world countries and each has their own charm. The world of One Piece is estimated to be about 3-10 times the size of earth, so there's a LOT of places that Roger's treasure could be hidden. Most think it's likely in the Grand Line, though, and thus why pirates head there en masse. I'll stop there, but it should be enough to see that the journey to the One Piece isn't as easy at just following a map.
Appendix: The "Calm Belt" is between the individual oceans and the Grandline. There are no ocean currents or wind currents within this buffer layer. "Inner tropical convergence zone" in our world only it is permanent in One Piece + the One Piece sea kings. (Sea Monsters) That's why you can't just sail back and forth between the seas. Viewed from this perspective, the world is divided into 7 zones: 1,2,3,4 - North, South, East and West Blue 5 - Grandline Part 1 6 - Red-Line (Mary Joa) 7 - Grandline Part 2 / New World And none of the individual zones can communicate with the other or do anything else. Exceptions prove the norm :)
I thin you should have let them figure it out ...would have been more fun that way....I just indicated that they missed one of the subtitles while discussing. All this is explained in the anime ...really no need to spoil it all...
YEEEEES Reactors are my guilty pleasure of youtube. I love connecting with other people over shared interests. I'm 45 secs in to your vid and already subbed and liked for your deep dive of one piece. idk if you are starting with the anime or Netflix's live action adaptation of the early arcs but i am HERE for it. Love and peace! Edit: After watching your reaction in full, you guys are primed and set. Good luck on The Cruise.
7:15 a planet larger than Jupiter with 7 moons. 200,000+ islands (there are islands the size of Canada) and 1 continent. and 40 humanoid species have been revealed by now. Not race but spicies (human, Giant, dwarf, fishman EST)
I appreciate you leaving in the outtakes at the start, immediatedly puts a smile on your face - especially Antoines no BS pokerface :D also cool you stick your comparison to something you like, even if so many people make fun of it!! doing reactions will be a commitment beyond the big commitment OP itself already is! but OP is a commitment well worth it. And do it at your own pace - not getting burnt out by outside pressure is the most important here!
Great reaction you two.But yes the world of One Piece is truly amazing. I would like to see you two go through the journey of the anime but I can understand if you can't because it's a long anime with currently 1091 episodes. I remember getting into the anime in 2010. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day or night. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing Jay Lee Media.
I'm sure this has been mentioned a bunch already, but the New World is the second half of the Grand Line. Gold Roger is the only man known to have reached the last island becoming the Pirate King.
U guys will not be disappointed if u start ur one piece journey. Furthermore the anime is coming to an end in 2 yrs. Including 2024..by 2025 it ends. So jump in NOW!
Im actually so excited for new OP watchers after they watched the LA. They have absolutely no idea how massive this world is!! Enjoy the journey yo ho 😊
Can't wait to see y'all react to One Piece! I'm already watching over a dozen people on their journey of a lifetime... but there's always room for more! :D
I really enjoyed watching you two react to this One Piece video, my girlfriend and I watched the whole Twilight Saga last month, I read all the books in HS and she didn't know anything about them. I hope you two do continue to watch One Piece the anime, its long but worth it. 🎉
The New world is the name of the second part of Grand Line , a sea with so many islands on eath/cloud & under the sea. The New World is more dangerous than the first part. Luffy in the Live Action went in direction to Grand Line at the end. And here, you see in random chronology what you can see in Grand Line & New World.
I'm not much of an anime fan myself but I've been a hardcore One Piece fan for over twenty years. It's worth it. You should go ahead and react to the anime. The more One Piece reactions the better.
03:09 the "New World" is the second half of the grand line. Is a sea way more dangerous than the first half. 03:20 The grand line is a large strip of ocean that surrounds the world where several islands can be found. 10:22 Just do it!!!!
Would also love to see you two check out all of the openings (1-26) currently. Mild spoilers might be involved but I can pretty much promise you’ll have no idea what’s a spoiler, too much going on all at once and simply way too many episodes to not forget some of the stuff you see in the openings. Another great one to check out however it does include probably a bit more spoilers would be “One Piece The Greatest Story Ever Told”
me and my sisters only beef with one piece was with how long it was. Now we’re caught up and have to wait a week for each ep I wish we watched it slower 😭 I hope you guys enjoy🩷
The new world is the second half of the grandline past the red line. Oda made a map of the one piece world if you wanna check it to get a clearer image
The second half of the Grand Line is called the New World because so few ships arrive this far and return that this part of the world remains little known and therefore new to everyone who arrives there.
If you watched the live action, i think its a wonderful dip into this ocean that is one piece. Youll find the anime a bit different, with some information being relayed at different times. Outside of that the anime will impact you harder than youll ever expect and is genuinely the most amazing story. You think 1000+ episodes is a lot but as everyone one piece comes to find, its just. Not. Enough.
The Grand Line is NOT called the New World. What the narrator said is that the SECOND HALF of the Grand Line is called the New World. Does the first half have a name? It might, but I'm not telling you because that's a small spoiler territory in its own right. One Piece is completely about the journey. Please enjoy it at your own pace; never rush it for the sake of catching up with the modern story, because even the most enjoyable thing in the world will become frustrating when you make it a chore you have to get through for some other purpose. Not every little arc and plotline is for every person, but as a whole, it is a gorgeous world with great characters and matching stories just waiting to be discovered.
You'll be surprised how different but the same on how things play out in the anime vs the live action. Like knowing the answer to a equation but not knowing the steps to get the same answer.
All questions will be answered when you watch the anime. The live action already spoilt a lot of things but still just a drop in the bucket. My advice: either stick with the live action OR go full 100% with the anime! And keep a box of tissue nearby until further notice for no reason.
There's a number of changes between the original and the live action. For instance, Sham wasn't female in the original(Sham being one of Kuro's lackeys). And there were a ton of different changes compared to the original. ...Usopp definitely shines better in the original, that's for sure.
Absolutely go with the anime. I watch it in English dub and its easily been one of the best decisions of the last year! Prepare for a giant world thats going to be a far deeper, and more satisfying ride! Oda knew best to let the world breathe often to show you different lands, lives, and tragedies.
One Piece is really amazing and well written, and well made but its really time consuming to watch, I have spent like a year watching One Piece over time and I'm still not caught up
I would definitely watch if you do react to the anime, and I would suggest skipping the fillers episodes for the most part as they usually are not that amazing and add nothing to the overall story (there are one or two exceptions). And you can watch the anime in dub, but I would seriously recommend watching with subtitles in the original Japanese as the voice acting is so much better imo. If you don't want to do episode reactions - as there are so many episodes - you could do arcs reviews. The arcs start out small but get bigger and then you wouldn't have so many videos to edit. Though you may get more views for episode reactions as many fans like to see your on the spot reactions to specific scenes/moments in the anime. If you decide to react to the episodes I would suggest do 2-3 episodes per reaction as the anime is quite long (over 1000 episodes) though each episode is only around 22 minutes long.
One piece literally takes their world from our world, we’re leaving in a sand box of our planet 😂 believe it or not, theirs waaaayyyy more earth than this to point where it’s scary big
If anything , hang ups over the length and number of episodes aside , not being an anime fan should make it easier for someone to get into One Piece . At first glance , One Piece is so visually odd and cartoonish , that it can be jaring for anime enthusiasts , especially shonen and action anime fans . You won't be trapped by the usual tropes and expectations from other anime series , and can just take the show for what it is .
Does the anime spoil the live action, or does the live action spoil the anime? Either way you’ll see some quite different takes on the same basic story, Which ever way you go you’ll be seeing things for the first time.
You have got it backwards....you should chose NOT to watch the Live action for the anime!....Cos its the live action thats spoiling the anime potentially as the anime is obviously much slower and more detailed! Also the "New World" is a bit of a spoiler as you guys wernt hoked onto the screen enough and missed the subtitles that said "THE SECOND HALF OF THE GRAND LINE IS KNOWN AS THE NEW WORLD"...But you probably wont have a clue wats that about so its okay.
One thing about us one piece fans was don't pass up on a chance to see the making of new one piece fans
Yep!
Exactly. We don’t gatekeep like other fandoms. We WANT people to check out One Piece.
The more minds we add to the hive we get stronger also more people means more chances of the one piece being figured out

very nice explanation! I've seen people writing twice as much with less than half the precision - not that I would do much better than them XD
Excellent explanation!

@@HarryTvHD I didn't want to give too much info since discovering the weirder features of the world is part of the fun of diving into One Piece.

The second half of the Grand Line is called the New World.

just my opinion could you just lower the background noise instead of cutting it off, i feel like it affects the flow of the video for the audience
