I thought I avoided being fooled this year. Still deciding whether it counts since it’s April 2nd when I’m viewing this. It is believable that MACCA would release something like this.

This is the most unceremonious unboxing I've ever seen - - funniest *Pop Goes the 60s* vid I've seen too. You had me genuinely taken in - - my 1st thought: 'This isn't like Matt, even buying one o these box sets let alone unboxing it: has MPL gifted the channel? Don't they *know* what he's *like* ?' - - & my 2nd thought: 'Wow well if they gifted the channel, he's not selling out over it: MPL may regret this!' - - which made the slow dawning even funnier. And refreshing.
I don't see how any future yt Vinyl Community Apple/MPL unboxing can come back from this without blocking 63,000 ppl first.

How can you not like Monkberry Moon Delight..besides it not sounding like any other song.he hits high notes on this track that not ONE UA-cam cover artist can hit! It;s a vocal treat extraordinaire.

i like MMD, "man we was lonely", "this one", "temporary secretary" and others here too numerable to mention. funny gag though even if i'd seek help for such gnawing mccartney contempt! he could be as lazy as me with his wealth (or close to as lazy as me) but somewhere he got the idea that occasionally he delivers a non-clunker!
It took me a full day to realize I’d been fooled. Good job! I could see him actually releasing this in different colored vinyl.

@@erniericardo8140 I practiced a bit without opening anything just to get a flow then I did it all the way through. The album jackets were my outline to follow. Since no one was in the room, I could keep a straight face. 😃

I knew from the start what was going on. And even though I'm a total Macca Stan and would happily listen to the entirety of these LPs, it was still pretty straight faced and funny.
When there are people actually disappointed that we didn't get a Sometime in NYC box, I can believe fans would buy this as well. Brilliant adding an EP. Good job on the mock ups.
Just a few months ago for fun I learned "Man We Was Lonely" on guitar. It's an unpretentious, country-tinged little tune, and actually the little intro/outro is pretty difficult to play. In general I think McCartney's first, eponymous solo album is perhaps the most underrated album in pop music.
"Junk," (I had a bar band in Detroit in the 70s and we did that song)"Oo-You," "Every Night" (come to think of it, we did that one too), the bittersweet, way underappreciated "Teddy Boy," and, of course, the enduring CLASSIC rock tune, "Maybe I'm Amazed." That is a stunning collection of tunes from one artist, on one album..
Paul did the whole thing himself, with backing vocals from Linda, on a 4-track (I believe it was a Teac 3340.)
No "maybe" about it, that is a positively 'amazing' album.
Agreed ,,, but it was downhill from there ... for the most part.
The inspired compositions on this album outshine the sparse production. Stunning. I love it ... 😊

Holy hell, I'm so naive it took me a while whilst watching this before I thought "would Paul sanction something like this?" Considering the latest McCartney III reissue.... I thought it might be possible..........but all in all a very enjoyable and a pleasant pisstake of the highest order. I'm sure George Harrison would have loved it!!!! Thank you Matt :)
It's so easy to fall for this! McCartney is at his best when he doesn't take himself too seriously so he could easily make something like that now that he finally knows that he doesn't have anything to prove.
One of McCartney's problem with resonating with fans like me, it he often takes himself too seriously. If he released something like this, he earn my respect.
@@popgoesthe60s52 I totally agree and that's why I said WHEN he doesn't. In the 80s and the early 90s he was obnoxiously serious and that's why he produced some of his worst music.
I find it absurd that he, of all people, felt that had something to prove but, on the other hand, he had a target on his back from the early 70s up until the Anthology project.
I think that now he is more relaxed and can take (and make) a joke more easily so yeah, he could do that. Especially with the tagline "Even my bloody bad stuff is good!"

The giveaway for me was that a good 30% of the 'worsts' were better than the bests from 90% of his contemporaries. Good effort though.

In Britain the song Let ‘Em In is heard many times a day as it’s used for the commercials of the Postcode Lottery, one of our National lotteries. The ad shows someone knocking at the door m, somebody ringing the bell. To which we say Do me a Favour.

I was thinking the same thing about this fake box set, but c'mon. C'Moon is a masterpiece of terrible. It really deserves to be included.

The work you put in on this paid off, I mean you showed us the product, what did you say "McCartney's packaging is excellent as always" You got me. I thought Paul had outdone himself with his sense of humour. There also would be a certain charm to this album, but yeah, a good take down of the unboxing videos and the trend of artists milking their legacy.

With the amount of pointless McCartney releases over the last few years, this seemed totally probable to me until about 10 mins in. How many versions of McCartney III and Egypt Station have we had ? Band On The Run Underdubbed Mix anyone ? Beyond great video Matt ! Highly entertaining. (I do like "This One" however)
Gee whiz...I'm disappointed! I thought the new Archive release would be (yet another) "McCartney III" release. The "rumor" was it would be a box set of 3-inch singles of all the "McCartney III" tracks packaged with a mini-turntable. So, seeing the new box is "The Worst", I am mightily disappointed. 😭 So now, to ease my pain, I am ordering "The Worst" box now. (PS: Nice job 😆)

I could not wrap my head around this one! The cover of Salamander on the Run made me question Paul's graphics guy. And then, with almost every song being an actual "worst" of Paul, I started thinking "What a weird thing to do. Gotta hand it to Paul for having a sense of humour about his weaker material. But who is going to want this?" Unfortunately, just before "Frog Street", I took a look at the comments, and the gag was given away! Good one, Matt.

Hi Matt. I'm sitting here at work after watching the video at home last night.
Only a minute or 2 ago did it come to me that you really bagged me with this one.
That revelation only occurred AFTER asking google if the box was a legit MPL release or some sort of bootleg!
I had been stunned that Paul was so stoned that he approved the idea, and that anyone thought it would sell, after all there was nothing unreleased! The poster certainly helped a great deal to sell the bit.
It's easy in retrospect to say that the graphics were a bit low fi, but as I say... I fell for it!
One of the best April 1st gags in a very long time.
I was equally shocked and outraged a few years back when somebody had posted a news release that said: "for economic and good neighbour relations, Canada to abandon Metric System".
This year I did see another headline, but actually spotted it as a gag right away...
"Album By Beatles Kids Confirmed"

I wonder where you can buy just the packaging. I liked most songs on Disc 1 except "Cook of the House" and maybe "Warm and Beautiful" which is OK. The rest of the songs can be dispensed with. By the way, my favorite McCartney album is "Wild Life"

This is now my favorite "unboxing" video! Interestingly, you went for the vinyl -- I paid $200 for the CD version, and I am happy to report that all of us BeatlesGeeks can rejoice because discs 4 and 5 are Blu-ray and DVD, respectively, and contain new 5.1 surround audio mixes!
