Hi Sam, I’ve been asked to do this tag and I’ve been giving the subject a lot of thought (a little overwhelming when you break it down) Drama covers so many movies and sub genres 🧐 same with Sci-fi ….its vast. The films you’ve pulled out as examples give a compelling argument 🙌 (I certainly can’t argue with your choice) I find it so refreshing listening to the passion you have for films, you have a great knowledge of film and energy in abundance. Wild Tales is awesome really need to watch it again. I still need to watch the third part of the Before trilogy. The first 2 are so good. I missed it when they were really cheap a couple of years ago on criterion. Just have the dvds. 👍
Hey Roy; thanks so much as ever for stopping by 😀🙏🍿🎸🎶 It’s an absolute honour to invite you onto to join this challenge/thread started by Lee (Nerdy Geezer) 😀🙏🍿🎸🎶 ‘Shoplifters’ is my favourite film of 2018; one of the greatest films I have ever seen TBH; absolutely love it; it make a great double bill with ‘Tokyo Story’ 😀 ‘Whiplash’ is another one of my all time favourites and watched it again last month Roy; love everything about it; in my Top 30 films ever ❤️ ‘Wild Tales’ is fantastic aswell; such a unique Anthology film with such an interesting range of stories with different personalities; need to rewatch that at some point 😀 Definitely worth checking out ‘Before Midnight’ mate; that might actually be my fav one in the trilogy; love the ‘Before’ trilogy and had the absolute pleasure of seeing them at Tyneside last year; beautiful trilogy of films ❤️ I paid full price for the Criterion set; but now I wish I waited few month when it was like 20 quid 😂😭

Really enjoyed listening to you talk through some of your favs. Control is an absolutely fabulous music movie. Have you ever seen Walk the line?
Hey Lisa; thanks so much as ever for stopping by 😀🙏🍿🎸🎶 I totally agree with what you said there; the ‘Drama’ genre has so many wonderful and important films aswell; it’s a real collective range and can intertwine with other genres aswell and I think Horror might be my second favourite genre after Drama; so we are on the similar sort of page there 😀🙏🍿🎸🎶 I absolutely love ‘Control’ aswell Lisa; I can’t bring myself to that ending anymore 😥😭 ‘Walk The Line’ is a fantastic film; really great Johnny Cash biopic; one I need to add into the Sammy G collection 😎
Great video Sammy, would choose drama as my favourite genre too, just so much variety like you say - of course there is lots of variety in all genres but - gonna give blue is the warmest color a watch checked imdb and it sounds like my kind of thing. I would suggest adding a film called 'show me love' to your list it's a swedish one from the late 90s and has a really nice feel to it, similar themes with the lesbian romance.

Thought it was gonna be drama as your favourite genre Sammy, I don't own that many drama's and you have let me know of a lot of interesting movie's. Very inspiring stuff, The Tenant is equally as good by Roman Polanski in my opinion. Shawshanks is so brilliantly crafted, Frank Darabont an underated director IMO. Amazing stuff as usual matey
