I can't believe how much I love this song! I heard it for the first time Thanksgiving morning and just went nuts over it. I played it over and over for hours. I have since played it almost daily since. It is both healing and soothing to me.
This song is for balancing Karma. How we walk with the broken speaks louder than how we sit with the great.

I visited her concert here in Moscow a month ago, and what I can say is that she's an avatar... Lady Sarasvati came down from heaven to our world, and Deva Premal is another her name. Her divine voice wakes you up from this illusionary life to the real One. Her singing is as strong as incredible silence and peace she brings with her on concerts. I love and admire her, our Lakshmi, our Shakti, our Kali, our Bhagavati, our Deva...
Finally found it! There are others but they are too slow and drawn out. This one is just right. Perfect pace!

Actually, this long mantra is: Om Bhur Bhuvaha Svaha Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhyo yo Nah Prachodayat. Deva Premal sings it as a song, so one cannot understand exactly all the sounds. But in order to WORK with this mantra, in a spiritual purpose, one has to know exactly all its phonemes....
Meaning: Oh God, the Protector, the basis of all life,
Who is self-existent, Who is free from all pains and Whose contact frees the soul from all troubles,
Who pervades the Universe and sustains all, the Creator and Energizer of the whole Universe, The Giver of happiness, Who is worthy of acceptance, the most excellent,
Who is Pure and the Purifier of all, let us embrace that very God,
so that He may direct our mental faculties in the right direction.

wiesio elemelek Mantra Gajatri (IAST Gāyatrī Mantra, dewanagari गायत्री मंत्र) - hinduistyczna mantra będąca wersetem z Rygwedy (3.62.10).
Zapis w Dewanagari:

तत् सवितुर्वरेण्यं ।
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि ।
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥
Transliteracja w IAST:
oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
tat savitur vareṇyaṃ
bhargo devasya dhīmahi
dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt
Stanowi ona modlitwę do Sawitara (postaci Boga opiekującej się Słońcem), akcentujące medytację nad jego doskonałym światłem z prośbą o oświecenie intelektu. Istnieje wiele dobrych przekładów znaczenia, które się uzupełniają lub zawierają dodatkowe objasnienia. Jeden z typowych przekładów to:
"Oto Światłość ogarniamy (przenikamy); Cali światłością niebios przeniknięci; Światłem wszystko umacniamy!"
Mantra Gajatrī jest uważana za jedną z najświętszych mantr, czyli różańcowych modlitw hinduizmu. Hinduiści wierzą, że ma moc niweczenia karmy. Jest to praktyka codzienna wszystkich uczniów bramińskich w Indiach, recytowana trzy razy dziennie (sandhya) po 108 razy z użyciem mali (różańca).
Nazwa Gāyatrī ma podwójne znaczenie, raz jest to miara rytmu mająca 24 sylaby (tutaj 16 plus 8), nie licząc początku przed sylabą Tat, który jest dodatkiem. Dwa, Gāyatrī to Bogini Matka Ziemia, od którego to imienia zresztą pochodzi greckie słowo "Gaia". Bogini Gāyatrī żywi się promieniami wszystkoożywiającego aspektu słonecznego Boga, zwanego Sawitar. Jest też częścią Bogini Słońca Sawitri, czyli umiłowaną przez solarne Bóstwo. W potocznym rozumieniu jest to zasadnicza dla tradycji hinduistycznych modlitwa o światło, zrozumienie i wyzwolenie. Hinduscy guru (mistrzowie) uważają wręcz, że ktoś kto nie praktykuje Gāyatrī Mantry nie może być wyzwolony. Nawiązując do miary rytmu 24 sylab, zasada ta może dotyczyć praktykowania wszystkich mantr Rygwedy o takim metrum.

Oby na tej ziemi i wszędzie we wszechświecie nastał pokój.
