Late to the party, but "drop the rock" is an old game that doesn't require a lot of specialized resources. Just aim asteroids at the earth, and dodge anything coming up out of the gravity well. The books The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and Lucifer's Hammer are examples of humanity surviving this situation, can you imagine us trying to defend against multiple Chicxulub (dinosaur killer) size impacts? While we can't with current technology, I have hope that by the time we piss off our neighbors in space we have a way to fight back.
In a sense, because in order to drop something from orbit you need to cancel our it's orbital velocity, but that doesn't apply to lazer weapons, presumably these aliens have deltaV to spare on their warheads, and the PD to hold off our weapons.
In about 100 years they are going to find out they didn't get us all when the Dyson Beam hits its first target.
‘Here be dragons anything to do with the surface.’ (Subterranean race).
As much as I like the idea of humans being super strong and having bodies that are chemical weapons, it means no space babe boning
Lol right? 😂
no, You can still do it. Once.
I mean, maybe if you had some rubber you might be able to
Never stopped Captain Kirk
Our ICBMs can be fired at targets in space, right? No orbital bombardment from a Species who see us as a baby with a shotgun, right?
Unfortunately you can always throw rocks down hill farther than they can be thrown up.

What the human really failed to mention on Here be Dragons - no dragons were found to either slay or befriend. Sigh
