- First 11 minutes. Using a Nano VNA to show the Magloop SWR as it falls into resonance by adjusting the capacitance.
2nd 11 minutes showing the same process whilst watching the waterfall screen on an ICOM 705.
Hi good demo, I’ve had one for 4 days, and yes tuning with practice does become easier more intuitive. I do get a very marked noise increase when tuning/ then fine tune on TX.
Just a point, when switching from 40m to 20m you didn’t show the capacitor switch being altered back. The switch on my version is on the control box - something to consider if siting in the loft!
Well done thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed the demo of this particular radio/antenna configuration. Cheers! 73 KH7AD
I wanted one but thr tuning drove me crazy went with e vertical
Very fine tuning for Ssb?
Hi After viewing your very nice video I bought one of the same 8 band Magloops.
These loops are really light well put together and nicely portable.
I have had some good results on digital modes with 2-3w on 17m especially.
In your demo in switch '1' position the single loop you showed a VSWR of 1.6:1 on 10m
and in switch '0' position the dual loop you showed a VSWR of 1.4:1 on 40m.
Were these VSWR results typical of the rest of the bands in the two switch positions or were these best cases.
Just asking because my loop is really excellent on all bands
in switch '0' all VSWR's below 1.7:1 with best on 30m of 1.15:1.
However in switch '1' position they are not so good typically around 3:1 VSWR.
These were measured with a NanoVNA just like yours.
Any thoughts as to what I could be doing different to you?
Many thanks

Nice informative video. Can the loop also be tuned manually?
where do you get the remote relay to replace switch ?
Any news on that steppa motor ? I have this loop and turning is a pain with the 705. Haven't made contact in about two weeks
I sold my loop at the Newbury Hamfest in 2023 as I found I was not using it.
Thanks for the informative video. G0RJM
