Is the install kit Absolutely necessary for the quarter panels? Also I can’t remember if you mentioned but was there an install kit for front bumper or just fenders and quarters? EDIT: Ended up purchasing entire Z06 kit and I’m VERY impressed with how well everything fits! Highly recommend this kit.
So I bought front fenders from a grand sport to put on my base. I dont have the inner fender pieces. Will stock work or do I need to get those pieces and what pieces are needed exactly?
It’s not factory flush fitment but ended up fitting pretty clean, much better than others out there. My only issue and I’m not sure if others have had this issue but I haven’t been able to mount the fog lights properly. I’m going to take some time soon and figure out a fix for that.
@@MitchCarveth I had the same problem and JD corvette basically said I didn't know what I was doing lol. they mounted the tabs wrong making it to tight for the light to even fit not me..
Could you tell me the OEM GM clip part numbers @ 16:20 that holds the little bumper wings to the front fenders. Also, is it just 1 clip per side or two. If just 1, does it clip to fender first or bumper. Or, is there 1 in fender that is shaped female and the one on the bumper shaped male and pushes in and down? Both of my wings are sticking up and there are no clips on bumper or in the front of the fenders. They are now laying on top of fenders and I leave the car parked so the paint won’t get scratched. Yellow paint!
GM part # 11561329 It will be one clip per side, the fenders have a hole in the front for the clip to slide into. Then you just push the bumper corners down onto the clips and it will pinch hold the corners. I dunno if that makes sense but once you see the clips it might make a little more sense.
Hey Mitch, I saw that you cut and altered the fender brackets. The point where the base fenders used to mount to the inner fender wells via that bracket do they still mount there somehow or hang loose and just connect with the bracket to the bumper?
Sorry for such late reply, They no longer mount to the inner fender wells and just connect the bracket to the bumper. I was a little concerned not mounting it to the inner fender at first but it seems to be just as sturdy as it was before and doesn't vibrate at all.
Sorry for the late reply. I've mostly been working, had a few issues with shop and had my appendix removed, finally about healed from that and will start making videos again.
I haven’t done anything yet, I’m debating on installing fender vents for the track and I might be cutting more of the wheel well out anyway if I go that route.
@@On3Manny I have the whole kit but the fenders don't come with the vent inserts. I'm trying to figure out where to get some without spending 500 for oem
I have the Z06 fenders, I’m not sure where to find the ZR1 vents other than OEM. Have you asked JD corvette? Sometimes they can get a deal on the OEM parts, that’s what they did for me cause I bought all OEM ducting, vents and splash guards.
@@brandongriggs2760 I’m installing my zr1 kit right now I was able to get one side through jd but they told everything is back order and from what I understand after research is that the zr1 inserts are not made anymore. Did you end up finding any?
looks great man, I reached out to JD corvette a couple days ago and never heard back. I was torn between them and ACI. ACI quoted me $3885 shipped to my door for the front and rear plus liners, bolts, ducting, install kit. Did yours come with the wheel liners and ducting because I didn't see that as an option through JD. Thanks!
Thank you! I had to call JD Corvette and tell them I wanted the liners and ducting then they just made me a package deal. I was confused at first as well cause they don’t say anything about it on the site other than quarters, fenders and bumper.
@@FUMan661 ACI was very helpful during my search process but they goofed up their final quote to me and scared me off from ordering because of it. I ended up going with J&D Corvette through their ebay store. Tony there helped me out in getting me the exact part numbers (GM components) needed for the full kit. If you are only looking for the fenders then purchasing through the ebay store works great, if you want them to send a full kit (install parts, liners, etc) then you would want to reach them direct. I decided sourcing the parts on my own and just ordering the fiberglass fenders from them would be faster. I should have them in about 2-3 more weeks because they are made to order then shipping crate from cali.
Oh and ACI only had the z06 fender options. I ended up ordering the zr1 set through J&D Corvette. Front and rear came out to $2,223.82 (includes shipping from Cali to GA).
Then once you add up all the other parts to do a factory swap (minus the front bumper because I already had a z06 front bumper), the total came out to $3690 for me. Ill have to check in and send an update once I have the parts all in can at this point I cant vouch for quality. They seem like great guys at J&D and ACI.
Z06 front fenders need the Z06 bumper to be attached? Im debating just going Z06 rear wide body for that thick booty or the ebay 2-3 in wide fender for that THICCCC BOOTY LOL just spacers scare me
Yeah unfortunately Z06 front fenders won’t fit with the base front bumper. The thicc booty is definitely a game changer lol and I have spacers for when I’m running the stock wheels and have been just fine. Just makes sure you go with hub centric spacers if go with spacers. Or find a set Z06 rear wheels and you won’t need spacers.

Damn. That looks great!
Overall how did the fitment turn out for the front end? Really considering going with JD front bumper and front fenders.

How did you install the rear fender inserts?
Hey Mitch! Does the fender liners from the base model work for this kit? do I actually have to buy a zo6 one??
Hey! unfortunately you will have to get the Z06 or GrandSport inner fenders.
@@MitchCarveth I asked a few people and they said you could use the base model inner fenders. Would they just not bolt up directly?

Kit name ?? It looks amazing
The kit is from J&D Corvette. Very happy with the fitment.

Where did you find fender vents for those zr1 fenders.
