- Apple just released a redesigned Apple Watch series 10 with a larger display than the apple watch ultra, thinner body, playback through speakers, a depth gauge, sleep apnea detection, and some really nice new finishes. However, even though the Apple Watch SE did not receive an update is the Series 10 really worth $150 more than the SE? And is the series 10 too big?

the series 9 is around $300-325USD and the SE 2 is around $229-250USD. For the extra ~$125, ill take the most recent hardware. Keep in mind, this is someone coming from a series 1 apple watch so calling this an upgrade for me is an understatement.

I went with the 10 because it’s our first ones and I feel like the newest one you can afford is going to last longer through updates
I’ve got a s5, it still has 93% battery health so I might stick with it, not sure though lol. I like the bigger and brighter screen, and the 10os update made this thing slow as crap

The fact that Apple Watches still last only 18 hours (according to their comparision page) is ridiculous. You would think at least every other generation would better battery life.

That’s what I did. I went from the 1st gen, 4th, SE 1st, now the series 10. Looks like I’m upgrading every four years roughly. 😂

I’m torn between getting the 42 mm and 46mm. The ultra is too big on my wrist but they’re saying the 46 is now bigger than the ultra. I need help!
Unless you’re a giant stick with the 42mm.
My understanding is the physical size of the 46mm is smaller than the ultra (49mm) but the screen size of the 10 is larger than the screen size of the ultra. I’ll wait until they are in store to see the 42 & 46mm on my wrist because the ultra is definitely too big.

If you can get to an Apple store I'd try on all the sizes to see which works best before spending a lot of money and not really being happy with the watch.
I still own a Series 3 😂 and it works just fine for what I need. When it stops working, I’ll consider buying a new one. 😎👍⌚️

Battery health of ur series 3 now?
Just an fyi in case people aren’t aware, Apple does provide a 10% military discount. I’ve gone to an Apple Store, made sure what I wanted was in stock, got a trade-in value on the spot for my trade-in to apply to the new product & ordered the product I wanted from Apple’s website for the discount. You do have to wait in the area to get the new product because it’s being processed through the website. But I don’t mind if I can spend less.
My #1 reason for SE is not the price but the size of it.
I don't want to wear a tablet on my wrist, 40mm is perfecto.
You have 41 mm for série 9 , can be interesting , better than 42 mm
There are too many features on the regular Apple Watch. The question is how accurate are the readings?
Despite of all these sensors distill a disclaimer not to use for health reasons. Meaning it’s not tested as rigorous as a dedicated machine. It’s a nice ballpark feature, but I wouldn’t rely on it.
HR readings are pretty accurate which really helps workouts

The Ultra is already huge, they don't need to get bigger. Who are these for? They are even too large for Shaq.

I got a used ultra gen 1 for like 400 bucks so I’m pretty happy with that plus the natural titanium will wear way better than the black one. Even if it’s sexier objectively

I’m considering purchasing my first cellular Apple Watch and would love your advice. My main reasons for wanting one are to leave my iPhone at home while running and hiking, and to stream Spotify through my AirPods. Additionally, I’d use it at work and while out and about to quickly check messages and emails.
Do you think the Apple Watch SE 2 would be a good choice for me between now and December? I’m curious if it will continue to receive updates for a while. I was hoping for a third generation, but it looks like that didn’t happen.

I got my all 3 of my watches “free” when I updated my iPhone. Had to pay for the cellular service, but that was one feature I was looking for anyway.
Wife wants her first watch…I’m torn on which to get for her.

@@litjits thanks friend...a day too late....I ended up going with the 46 mm😳. lol Mostly because a lot of reddit comments I saw from women said that they feared the 45mm would be too large...but ended up loving it. Didn't run into any women saying they wished it were a smaller size. So we'll see next week. she'll have a month to try it out and downsize i guess

Séries 10 has the oxygen feature enabled, just not in the US.

Best Buy offered me 325 for my series 9 with blood oxygen sensor, that’s only about $100 difference, I would do that in a heartbeat, but I use the blood oxygen sensor. I hope Apple gets it worked out.

Currently using the SE. Overall a good watch.
2 major things that I don’t like.
Short battery life - you need to charge basically every single day.
Always on display - I find it irritating when you flip the watch and need to wait for the screen to appear.
totally fine with se ngl i do not understand why would someone need something better but ig there is a usecase maybe?
Think you forgot about the always on display which is a big deal for many.

A bit confused here as this video is only 7 days old - I have just been quoted a price for the SE 3 (or 2024) for Friday when the 10 comes out along with the iPhone 16 models?
Am going back to the regular watch from the current ultra 2 from last year I’ve wanted to upgrade it but there was no ultra 3 this year so I’ll go back to the series 10 titanium 😊

the glass wraps around the casing more than on the older Apple Watches.
I find it kinda dumb to have put the regular watch in titanium so close to the price of the ultra... Might as well just get the ultra then. In a way that's clever to push people to upgrade, but the issue here is that even without any major upgrade the literally base entry in titanium is, imo, too close to the ultra. If it was closer in the biggest size, with a metal bracelet etc then I would have agreed. But in the current state I really find that positioning weird.

With Apple care coverage you can just get it replaced if it gets that bad
I really want to know about the sleep monitoring features. Which one is the best for sleep tracking? I guess Sleep Apnea detection is good HOWEVER chances are you'll know if you have it haha. They say "70 million undiagnosed" but I feel like thats a bit of a misleading point. I can guarantee most peoples partners can and probably have already diagnosed them haha. I guess I'll get the ultra.

Also don’t be fooled they increased the bezel thickness on these series 10 watches! According to online it’s over 20% thicker than on the series 7! Crazy
Maybe that’s so next year they can decrease the bezel thickness for more screen size on the series 11 as an update to the series 10 if they don’t have other upgrades
Or just get an AirTag to monitor your kids instead

FINALLY APPLE MADE A BIGGER AND A THINNER WATCH. NOW MAKE THE WATCH 20% THINNER AND 25% BIGGER. THE WATCH SHOULD FEEL FLATTER, BIGGER, AND LAST LONGER AND BE BEZELESS.
